I. GENERAL QUESTIONS

Will my MYO expire?
No! As stated in our Terms of Service, neither free nor paid MYO slots expire unless it's a timed MYO event.

Is there a F2U base for Kittybots?
Yes! There are F2U Kittybot bases made by kinqley which can be found here! There are also member-submitted F2U bases that will be in the world's resources folder!

Where can I purchase mods?
Additional mods can be purchased from the KittyCoin Shop! KB owners are only eligible for two free mod traits when purchasing a MYO slot.

Can I add new mods to previously created Kittybots?
Yeah! If you've received new mod traits, you are allowed to apply them to Kittybots that have been made prior to you obtaining the new trait slots! To officially add traits to an approved MYO, just ask for an edit permit (including the MYO intended and trait acquisition proof) in the KittyCoin Shop!

Am I allowed to redesign my MYO Kittybot?
Yep! It's free if they’re a MYO. Please leave your kittybot’s current reference and how you are going to edit them in the KittyCoin Shop for an edit permit! Changes that require an edit permit are listed in the KC Shop!

Do I have to screenshot my myo slot/mod prizes from events?
If it's a trait or MYO you intend to use, yes!

Do we credit you for character creation on toyhouse?
Unless I (kinqley) designed the Kittybot, nope! Otherwise, make sure to credit appropriately.

II. LORE QUESTIONS

Can Kittybots be in a universe that doesn't involve humans?
Yep, they can! In our intro they’re made by a certain company, but that doesnt mean they are or have to be made by humans (theyre just made by some corporate entity). This is only as long as the universe/society is technologically advanced!

How would Kittybots listen to music?
Since Kittybots don't hear through their ears, they can’t use something like headphones. If there were glasses that played music (ie. maybe w/ small speakers) they wouldn't be too disruptive to their eye sensors, the music would just be more audible in the space around them. The closest thing to headphones for Kittybots would probably be enclosed goggles, but otherwise they would usually just use speakers.

Is it possible for Kittybots to have delusions about glitches or defects?
Yes, with specific enough programming, definitely! Since manufacturing defects and viruses are Kittybots’ main problem to worry about w/ their existence, they can definitely be disillusioned!

Can Kittybots have accents or cadences?
Yep! Accents don't necessarily have to be programmed in, though. Most bots adapt to the language around them, so accents would probably be based on what they've observed. Although they may be programmed with a specific language/s they're first sold in (considering that they're universal), they can always learn other languages and dialects too.

Are Kittybots able to pass as humans, educational and emotional-wise?
Yes! They each take to certain things and definitely can learn and emote - but their personalities are a bit more unchangable than humans, mainly because their gems are originally pre-set personalities.

Are stray or rogue Kittybots a thing?
It depends! There could definitely be Kittybots that were made in one batch and not sold/sold and immediately left to fend for themselves. It may not be their choice, but they're still able to do what they want.

III. DESIGN QUESTIONS

Do Kittybots have to have a mood-correlating gem color?
No! Not for references, at least. Mood gems just have suggested emotion colors to read different emotions.

How do we know what gem color reads as an emotion?
Don't worry, we have a chart! Click here to toggle it!

Are all halos generally the same size?
Yep! All halos are relatively the same size, which is why a kittybot with 2 halos are overlapping each other rather than staying separate. Every halo should be around the width of the Kittybot's head, and don't have to be around an ear.

Do they have normal human-like noses?
Yes, they do!

Can Kittybots be muscular in appearance? Can X1 models be more feminine?
Yeah! KB can have differing body types, which dont effect their models. Models are just a general limitation for expectations. KB cannot be enormous or super small in stature, as they have height limits, but if ‘muscular’ is being treated as a body type for the android then it would definitely be OK! Body types cannot be changed, but Kittybots can be virtually any size, as long as they function. And yes! All standard models have flat chests in manufacturing (which, if the bot chooses to present more feminine, can be changed), but there can definitely be feminine X1s; any model can have any gender presentation!

How many bars does the charge bar on their neck need?
They require 4-5 minimum! The maximum amount of bars would be 10.

What is common / uncommon / rare in regards to tail length?
There are virtually no limitations in tail length! It's common for any length of tail to have patterns (maybe not a 3 foot long tail though, because a really long one would be impractical for mobility), but modifications allow actual holes cut in the tail itself! Tails can also have bends to an extent. The only thing not allowed would be no tail at all!

Would a damaged tail be considered a mod?
Nope! While modified tails are purposefully tampered with, they have a kind of ‘memory insurance’ - whereas damaged tails are subject to memory loss, as the tail is where most memories are recorded in code. Any damages other than stable, permanent gem cracks are not considered mods!

Would a golden tooth/crown/canine be considered a mod?
For now, no! This is because their teeth are more replaceable. It would be like getting a filling at the dentist.

Can the insides of their ears have a gradient or be holographic?
It’s more common for their ears to be solid matte colors! Kind of like a smooth matte finish?? Slight gradients are definitely a thing, as long as the gradient is not drastic (ie. going from orange to black, etc). Holographic finishes would also be something to think about, though the initial color should probably be more visible.

Would different ear finishes be considered a mod?
That’s something to be considered, but for now nope!

What colours can Kittybot skin be?
Kittybot skin is mostly either human skin tones or monochrome shades between black and white, athough monochromatic are less popular. Kittybots cannot have unnatural skin tones like blue or green.

Are Kittybots completely covered in skin?
Yes, Kittybots are completely covered in skin for the most part, aside from their charge ports, battery bar and gem. Sometimes, however, joint lines are visible depending on preference. The areas under the feet and the border of the charge bars on their necks are smooth metal (can be any color, just not the same as skin). Click here to toggle an image of the charge bar neck border!

Are black sclera and/or heterochromia allowed?
Not for free myos, no! Heterochromia is a mod trait, and colored scleras are admin only traits. For more information on all possible modifications, please check through our mod trait guide!

If a Kittybot already has the piercings mod, can I add more w/o purchasing mods?
Yep! Same goes for tattoos as well; if you already have the tattoo or piercing mod, you do not need to purchase another to add multiple tattoos or piercings to your KB.

Are extra body attachments, like wings, considered a body mod?
Wings are not allowed! They must be fake and attached to clothing. Prosthetics/limb substitutes are allowed, so long as they resemble normal limbs and are in place of their respective limbs. Wings can't function or be directly attached to the kittybot in general.

Are multicolored eye sensors a mod?
No! Multicoloured eye sensors (not to be confused with heterochromia) are an admin trait. For more information on all possible modifications, please check through our mod trait guide!

Can Kittybots wear accessories over their gem/covering their neck?
Yeah! They can definitely cover their gem and/or neck, but their gem & charge bar must be present on their reference sheet somewhere.

Can Kittybots have unnaturally coloured hair?
Yes!

Is it possible for Kittybots to be mute in some way?
They can have no voicebox or a broken voicebox through physical damage, but this can also be counted as a production defect! Voiceboxes are pretty easily replacable.

Are piercings limited to the ears?
No, piercings are not limited to the ears. They can be applied to other body parts such as the face.

How much do joints differ from one Kittybot to another?
Joints aren't exactly different from bot to bot, but some models are older, therefore joints can be easier to see compared to newer Kittybots.

Tails can be any color, can they have also a pattern?
Yes, there is no limitation to patterns on tails, so long as they are still just the tail and nothing is physically added to them.

Can KBs have lightweight decorations (eg. ribbons or tassels) hung to their halos?
We haven't considered this before, but they could. It shouldn't be anything heavy, but ribbons and similarly weighted decorations would be acceptable if tied to the halo.

Do Kittybot ears have to be normal and pointed?
Yes. Outside of the normal pointed ears, other types of feline ears such as lion or hylander cat ears are an admin trait. This also applies to ears like scottish fold, caracal, etc.

Can Kittybot ears have cat fur-like patterns like stripes/patches?
They are allowed, although solid colors are more common. Only one-color patterns (contrasting w/ hair or the base color of the ear) on the outer ear part are allowed at this point in time.

Can ears have designs inside them?
Nope! Other than gradients, patterns on the inner ear is not allowed.

Can MYOs have downward pointing cat ears?
Please check our modification traits list. Folded ears (or deviations from the standard point) are an admin only trait. That would be a no for just a free MYO without traits, sorry!

What happens if a Kittybot's gem is destroyed?
It's mostly vulnerability to viruses! Depending on how cracked or destroyed the gem is, there can also be a range of glitches (ie. like sensory overloads, the kittybot version to “passing out” that wouldnt normally happen, and drastic mood changes). Kittybots can function with a replacement - the only drawback is that their personality will not be exactly the same as the previous gem. Their gems hold their individual personalities, so if you're ok with them having slight differences or some drastic changes, go for it.

  • If a stone is cracked or up to 5/10 destroyed - the Kittybot will have some visual and motor malfunctions. They will have glitch moments that are out of their control, but this is all fixable.
  • If a stone is pretty much gone or at least 9/10 destroyed - the Kittybot will experience a shutdown. They will have a pause before crashing (like being shot in a vital area) and will be in a dead state until their stone is replaced.
