Eons passed, gods and legends lost to time; but the dying are -perhaps- not dead.

The concept of passing on on no longer holds purpose, and the remaining ones that still aimlessly drift, adapt. Evolve. 

Death is never the end, but an uncharted land for growth.

Aaxara, another evolution, another generation. Once again they cast away a piece of their past lives, they have no need for history, they have no need for face. 

In a way, they have moved on, and they will continue to move on.

A year later and I come back to this on a whim, I've accepted that I'll not have the time to be actively running a closed species but I still like the idea of working on this.

I think I'll privatize (not sell adopts of) this species for now and make some personal designs to test their appearance, and do away with rarity/limitations since I've seen some closed species doing that. Ultimately, I want to be as flexible and creative with this without worrying about whether it works in a cs system. Sure, I could sell the personal designs later but thats something I'll decide much farther down the line.

For now I'll remove all the pages 'cause they will no longer be relevant but I the prior versions of species is still part of the cs (Galaxiades & Aarexa) and will reflect so in the history. I hope I can add more species into this pocket of space in the unknown universe. 

For those who are still watching this, thank you. It was cool to see people occasionally poking their head in for an invite even after I closed this :) and please don't feel bad if you decide to leave 'cause you're suddenly reminded this exists, it's been a long time and the update was not expected.

My work in this got held back because I ended up being really indecisive about a lot of things, lets see what I have…

Redrawn base with eyes, testing out with structure overgrowth, prickled dame & collared diva

Graphics & details

• Eyes trait list is fine
• Need to redo the body & skin trait (working on skin first)
• Cloak might need redoing too
• Overall I need to present the traits better in the guide so a redraw would be better

Traits & System 

• Soulfire trait
  • The wing & body features with the trait will be turned into a trait with no relation to soulfire
  • The soulfire trait is now the eyes only
• Disease/mutation trait will now be for cross-CS traits
  • All the current mutation traits will be moved into regular
  • Flare scar is going to be taken off the traits and be used for biology lore
• Turning all the following traits into legacy (Glass pits, glass tusks,sushi,faceless, habitat imprint (skin))
  • They are difficult to implement on the Aarexa
• Impaled weapon will become a separate feature instead of turning into a legacy, but it will not be a trait anymore.
• Cloak trait needs more distinction, might remove traits too similar to each other
• In the end I’m keepin the fixed rarity trait system, its too hard to maintain with a fluid system

Legacy

• I’ve adjusted the lore to make some changes between the legacy and the new gen
• New gen will now have proper eyes, previously eyes were blank
  • A lot of people had trouble trying to keep their MYO eyes blank
  • Blank eyes are no longer allowed, at most the eyes can be completely white
• Broad base peg legs will be replaced with simple peg legs
  • Anatomically wise broad base looked odd when they were standing and it made them look off balance, and the lore behind was not realistic enough

Lore Changes

• The 3 main religion will stay, with the domain and gods wiped out it’ll be easier to rewrite most of the past
• Old lore could be released based on certain activity?
  • I've been eyeing RPR lately in setting up my lore & activities and Aarexas might be included in the amalgamation of worldbuildings I plan to do, but this is a tentative idea

Impaled weapon

• I’ll turn it into a feature like the cloak where it is optional but it has its own rarities(maybe)
• Thinking of turning it into a companion

Overall I've firmed what ideas I had floating in my mind and have a better idea on what I could do now, its just getting to the drawings and stuff

One other thought is turning this species into semi-open where free MYOs only have access to common traits, uncommon and above has to be bought. I still want to create apparel for users but its actually kind of hard since there's a possibility of clipping.

The Archivist was holding a tattered book in their hands as words bleed across the empty pages. The Library was in ruins, broken columns and rubble piled upon each other. The roof was gone and all that was left was dust hanging in the vacuum. Yet, the Archivist seemed unperturbed. Indifferent to their broken domain which no doubt had severely damaged their strength as a God.

Although the Library had been reduced to nothing, the broken walls burst into whispers upon the arrival of a guest. Gold tipped fingers morphed out from the walls for a moment before hastily retreating as soon as the newcomer touched the Library floor. Shutting the book, the Archivist turned to look at the guest. An Aarexa. New and young to the universe based on the naked curiosity it had to its surroundings. The Archivist waited patiently until the new Aarexa paid attention to them.

“Welcome,” the Archivist greeted, nodding their head at the guest and folding their arms behind their back. The two Aarexas stared at each other in silence. The God sighed. “I must admit, I am at a loss as to where to begin. It is difficult when it is all gone.” They gestured to the ruined Library with one of their arms. They took a few steps away to slowly sit down on a large chunk of white marble laced with gold veins. “Come, sit. Surely, it has been a quite journey for a young one like you, I will share what I can.”

“Only the Gods were aware of the impending doom, but we are just gods, nothing as big as the Primordials. We were helpless to stop something we knew eons ago.” The Archivist looked at the Aarexa.

“Entropy had been encroaching Order’s domain ever since it’s existence, and that day has finally arrived. Or... Had arrived, it has been months since the incident. I call it The Collision.

Do you know of the three main religions your kind had established? Archeon, Ommenon and Ledron. Each of these religious beliefs had some form of truth about our Primordials.

Order and Entropy were once conjoined as the Omens claimed, and Ledron was right in that they split apart because both were fighting over control of the universe. And all will eventually become consumed by Horizon, as said by the Archaics. Of course, none of these religion ever thought about what would happen should Order and Entropy make contact first before being lost to Horizon.

In an instant, their collision created a powerful shockwave.” They waved at the ruined structure surrounding them, “I created this Library in the center of the universe next to the Horizon, I should have gone to the other end instead. Perhaps, this place would have survived then. Horizon may have absorbed most of the shockwave but evidently my domain was impacted.”

The Archivist lapsed into silence, taking in the view of the tiny twinkling stars of the open space.

“Order’s lightning and Entropy’s greed had always left behind streaks of death, you would think this would be the end of the world. Yet, when their bodies collided it threw them apart farther than ever and the universe expanded even greater than before, there is more life than ever now.

It has expanded so greatly that there are places in the universe beyond my view.

Of course, they brought death too. The space surrounding Horizon is writhing with horrors unknown, birthed from the two Primordials. We are not far from the area I call the Dead Space.”

The Archivist abruptly stood up, and looked at the Aarexa with a smile. “There is one piece of good news for your kind.

All the gods had joined forces in an attempt to prevent Entropy from colliding with Order and failed. With their death the ancient curse placed upon your kind has finally been lifted; and with their death they have also prevented the spread of the dead zone from washing across the Nexum Universe. The cycle of life and death may change with this incident, and I suppose I should start documenting everything that has happened. 

Now off you go, it is too dangerous to be so close to the Dead Space, I will be sure to move my domain elsewhere in the future.”

Not waiting for the Aarexa, the Archivist summoned a blank book to fill with words.

“Oh yes,” they piped up, looking at the Aarexa that was just about to leave. “I’ve been hearing noises from the Horizon Primordial, it seems to be waking up from its quiet slumber.”

The Archivist chuckled, as if reading the Aarexa’s mind. “Neither Gods or Primordials sleep, Horizon was simply… Absent, for a very long time. Which was how the Clutch was formed. Had Horizon been truly present, the Clutch would have been long absorbed and reformed. Your kind would not have suffered this long.

Be warned, the Horizon cares not for anything. It only wants what’s best for the universe and will change the world upon its will. You cannot fight it.

What will happen to the Clutch? I do not know, but let us hope good things will come from this.”

After 4 months I think I'm ready to work on this, I'll be tackling the trait system first since it will need the most changes both text & visuals

Traits & system

• Evolutionary traits will be pushed into regular traits instead, evolutionary system will be removed (there’s too much work being put into this and the system is not quite compatible with the regular)
  • Splitting Soulfire's current appearance it into eye & body traits, will need new names
• Disease/mutation traits will be separated from regular traits
  • Tentative idea, need more thoughts on this
  • Could be for cross-CS traits
• Trait system will not be specifically rated, it will revert back to it’s fluid system (I was discouraged from using it previously and I reluctantly changed it, but I’m going back to it now)
  • Fluid system will not include legacy Aarexas
  • Need to be more specific with the skin texture (in visual & text)
  • Need to create stronger distinction between skin & body especially habitat imprint
  • Habitat imprint might become purely a body trait
  • Flare scar will be removed since the lore makes it a weak trait, will put into the mutation/disease traits. 
  • Impaled weapons to be removed from regular trait system, not sure what to do with it currently but I will keep for future considerations
  • Glass pits have been unsuccessful in designs so it needs fixing, maybe it’s too close to container trait. Sushi needs to be reevaluated, haven’t been able to make unique designs out of it
  • Collared diva & prickled dame needs to be more distinct in appearance, prickled dame will go into disease trait
  • Oil tusk might be removed, not very compatible in design
• Fluid Trait System
  • Aarexa with trait/total population
  • Prices based on rarity will not be possible with this because rarity is not fixed
  • MYO/Customs - Will only need base prices & qty of traits slots
  • This might be unfavourable to the community
• Legacy Aarexas
  • MYO rules still apply, adopt purchase rules still apply too
  • All current Aarexas will become legacy regardless of the traits that still exist in the new system
    • Do I need something to indicate they are legacy?
    • I've seen this in another CS but I don't want to change the Aarexa name to separate legacy from the new gen

Lore changes

• Strip the active lore
• City was originally planned to be somewhat still active, going to change it to now abandoned
• Archivist's library has been destroyed, need to expand
• Future lore will now be to find past stories & discover lost relics etc to help the Archivist repair his library
• What benefits can I bring to the community with the lore expansion?
  • Initially it was to update on the Evolutionary traits, since I scrapped that I'll need to think of another way to progress the species & story

• Future plan was for this to be sort of like an RPG thing but I'm not too keen on expanding it to that stage now
• The idea also partially came from the concept of mixing alchemy ingredients to create something
• Maybe this will work on a companion adopt??

• In addition to the Evo trait system, I had also wanted the Evo traits to be interchangeable like clothes
• Designing clothes for this species would be interesting, I've already tried a few designs
• Possible to make a base Aarexa & provide PSD version of the adopt
  • Each trait on one layer to allow layering of clothes over trait?
  • Some traits protrude out of the body so...
• Could occasionally release clothes design that the owner can play with on the Aarexa
• Not all clothes & accessories will fit to every Aarexa

Personal thoughts

I'm kind of sad I'll have to get rid of some stuff but at the same time relieved that I will not be burdening myself with too much work. I cannot devote 24/7 on the CS like some others can and I want people to be able to enjoy the CS too with minimal effort. The biggest thing I'm sad about is the evo trait & events actually, I had fun designing the badges, decorations & monthly items; so maybe I can transfer this fun into designing accessories/clothes.

This is really important news so please take the time to read this, I've kept it as short as possible. 

Creating the Aarexa species is probably one of the more difficult projects I had attempted to take on. Unfortunately, I made too many wrong turns in my journey and I am now lost. As a result I will need to put this species on hold until I can sort out what I want from this species. The discord will be removed by the end of this month because I do not know how long it’ll remain in my wip. While everything else will stay online, it will no longer be purchasable. 

I will not be refunding designs/tickets/customs bought because I’m not deleting the CS.  If you are still invested in this CS please continue reading, if not I would suggest removing yourself from the TH group.

Re: the situation, what now? 

While discord is gone the TH group will stay. I will be stripping down aspects of the species I struggle with the greatest, mainly traits and the worldbuilding. Present-time lore will have to be stripped off since it might conflict with future development. From here on, all future bulletin announcements will be about the CS development.

All currently existing designs will be marked as legacy.

Personal message

The Aarexa started off as a challenge I created for myself, the body was quite unique and not something I was familiar with. It was fun at first but like all challenges, they grew harder the more I tried to work with it; I began to find it difficult to enjoy. It’s embarrassing how easily I lost to my own game. 

I made too many errors in managing this species and I need to take a step back to evaluate where I want to go with it. It was my first time trying to create a closed species and commit to it, I’ve learnt a lot about my limitations and hope to be able to do better in the future. As much as I like the Aarexa design and lore I’ve made, I‘ve overdone it, but I don't want this to be over for my CS. I still want to continue. 

A friend suggested to create a CS I enjoy designing for long term than to be challenged everytime I try to work on it, so that’s something I’ll be mulling on.

I believe I know what I want changed and not everyone who are still invested in this species will be happy about it. However, I want to be comfortable with my species in the long run to avoid this again. So I am making these changes for sustainablility

"A strange creature rises from the darkness, it brings a message from the unknown."

In the Nexum Library, the Archivist was disturbed by a presence. A bright light was shining behind the librarian and so they turned to be greeted by a grey figure with a smile and no eyes on its face. Its head was brackets by a pair of grey wings, each had an eye of black sclera and fiery rings of irises and a mane of fire.

"Welcome to the Nexum Library, who are you?" The Archivist greeted politely, as they welcome all beings into the library.

The figure simply smiled wider before speaking, "I have no name, but I have a message."

"Within Senxera's domain, life is blooming. It is a beautiful place for poisonous minds. Senxera will bring life to this world, whether you Gods like it or not, and the Above will not save you. You Gods, and mortals are alone, until you deal with Senxera and her creations."

Once it had finished speaking, it looked around the library. "You have a lovely place, please allow me to stay." And the Archivist simply let the being do as it please. After listening to the message, the Archivist knew they could no longer sit idly while the other Gods lived their lives merrily doing god-knows-what. They turned to walk out of the library but paused to turn back to the messenger, "please, tell me your name." The Archivist asked once again, but the being simply smiled, "names are powerful, all Gods know all mortal's names, but you don't know mine. You should be wary."

The Archivist sighed quietly even though it had no need for air. "Then tell me why did you seek me out, why am I to share the message."

Again, the being simply smiled. "I know you will not deny a messenger from Order."  And it is true, one look at the creature and all will know the eyes it wear surely belongs to Order. 

So the Archivist took their leave to stand at the entrance of the Nexum Library, and spoke with a voice that cross the void of space for all Gods and mortals to hear.

"Listen to me, all. A Harbinger has brought us a message...

Senxera, beware. The eyes of Order is watching."

"It was that time of the year again, when Lethistile became too unbearable to live in and the barrier in the Ravine of Memories waned. Memories of unborn life float out from the Ravine in faint blobs; much too weak to take form in the planet of Lethistile, but will live and wander away from it freely. If they can find a new home, they will take form and live their new life there. Should the memory find no home, they will cease to exist by the end of the month. This is the month of arrivals."

Sleeping Soul - An evolutionary trait

"You found a fragment of a memory, separated from its own it swims in the air and follows you. The Sleeping Soul does not interact or behaves like it is alive but seems to be waiting, hovering near you. Waiting for the right time to reveal itself."

Introducing an evolutionary trait system, certain objects that you can obtain/purchase in this CS can be developed into a trait. Once the object has evolved into a usable trait it can be applied to any Aarexa you own. More details on the basics of the evolution system will be revealed over this month of October which you can read in the update log below, and further development will continue over the next few months.

• Design must be approved within this event period to be registered in the masterlist
  • You do not need to "claim" a MYO slot
    • The MYO is yours if your design is approved/registered
    • If it is not approved/registered it cannot be used
    • Claiming then not registering the design means they are still unusable
• Uncommon & V.Uncommon tier is purchasable
  • It will not replace your 1 Common tier MYO slot
  • Meaning you can design 2 MYOs (1 Common MYO+ 1 other MYO tier you purchased)
• If you have successfully participated in the event you will be rewarded in-universe currency
