Gen2. Aarexa

Basic Appearance & History
Aarexa (a-rex-ah) is an ancient civilization that came from a pocket in space known as The Clutch. They’ve mastered the arts of controlling space and time and are incredibly adaptive.

Over time, their body has evolved to accommodate their arts but the gods were unhappy with them manipulating galaxies, sensing their powers being threatened the civilization was cursed. Removing their souls and discarding it into the abyss of the universe, the civilization could not be accepted by Horizon to pass away peacefully and are left with a hollow feeling.

Only a few gods took pity and gave them a seeking eye to wander in the galaxy, searching for their soul. Ashamed, they wore a cloak that could allow them to hide from the god’s gaze. Aeons later, more Aarexas begin to shed their cloak, unashamed of their condition.

Aarexas generally have a humanoid appearance with space traits and can come in any colour. No nipples, belly button or genitalia. They have nothing but whites in their eyes due to being soulless. The majority are about 12ft tall.

This species do not have hair, instead, they have thick clouds of gas coming from the pores of their scalp. Their mouth can be split open in multiple ways, there are variations of it but none of them are rare.

They have large forearms for the easier crafting of their magic arts and peg legs with a large base to tread easily over biomes. Their horns can come in any shape and sizes, sometimes it doesn’t look like a horn at all.

All Aarexas have a large eye in the center of their chest, it's their main seeking eye. In a lot of cases, the Aarexas can produce more seeking eyes.

The Seeking Eye

The Seeking Eye only appears in the middle of their chest, it is usually the largest eye on the body. This Eye is the only thing that allows the Aarexa to find their soul. However, the eye can be easily damaged if not taken care of properly. The eye works and functions like any normal eye except it views the world differently. The Seeking Eye can look around like it’s seeing but it’s only sensing about the world, very much like a radar. Aarexas cannot actually view the world through the eye, it is only aware of its senses subconsciously.

While the Aarexas can produce many more seeking eyes, it will not increase their chance of finding their soul. It only increases their range of view. Every Aarexa's soul has its own unique appearance under the disguise of something or someone, only the seeking eye knows what to look for. When the seeking eye has found their soul then the Aarexa will know. Once the Aarexa has found their soul their own eyes will return but the seeking eye remains on them.

Muscular hydrostatic arms

“A muscular hydrostat is a biological structure found in animals. It is used to manipulate items (including food) or to move its host about and consists mainly of muscles with no skeletal support. It performs its hydraulic movement without fluid in a separate compartment, as in a hydrostatic skeleton.” [Wikipedia]

Real life examples include: mammal tongues, elephant trunk

Their muscular hydrostatic arms are not slow to move, they can be as fast as a whip and their fingers have cartilage in it to give them their digits so it can hurt. The Aarexas use these incredibly flexible arms to manipulate their magic. With that much flexibility they're capable of creating complex magical formation. Space and time manipulation requires the user to be greater than an expert at magic formation, as space & time manipulation is built upon many layers of magical structure.

Peg legs

Aarexa’s legs have now evolved to be extremely powerful in propelling the creature through space, allowing them to cross long distances in a short amount of time. Their legs have a broad base to avoid sinking in soft ground too.

Be warned that being kicked by an Aarexa can mean death, the impact can easily cause damage to the surface they eject their force on. It should be noted that the blow is strong enough to cause cavitation bubbles in water , Aarexas which live in water will be more familiar with the usage of the cavitation bubble. Aarexas DO NOT RUN. If they need to move quickly they hop and bound away, it's much faster for them because their legs are like pistons, quick to release and propel themselves especially in space.

Horns

Aarexa horns can come in any shape, size and form, and the Aarexas take pride in it's appearance. If it breaks/cracks then nebulous gas will pour out from it.

Most Aarexas don’t use their horns for attacking unless their arms are locked with their enemy, using their horns is their last resort. Aarexa horns are made out of calcium along with other types of elements which creates a reinforced structure. Breaking one's horns will take a lot of strength to do so.

Nebulous Fumes

This is the thick clouds of gas that pours out from the pores of their head to give the appearance of hair. Gas continuously pours out from those areas and the only reason why the species have different ‘hairstyles’ is through the use of ‘cutting’ the gas with magic.

However, like hair, the gas will continue to ‘grow’ out and the Aarexa will need to cut again if they want to maintain their hairstyle. The Aarexa’s fumes works as a catalyst to their magic.. The early forms of Aarexas did not have fumes as hair, it is only when they started to evolve to accommodate for their magic did they manage to incorporate a magic source into their body.

Splitting mouth

Due to the need to rapidly evolve in their planet, the Aarexas have developed many different ways for their mouth to split open. Aarexas do not eat food anymore but can still eat if they want. They only need to eat when they finally found their soul. While Aarexas are omnivorous, meat is extremely important to them, a large part of their diet requires meat. Still, not all Aarexas have a split mouth and its normal, sometimes they evolve it much later.
