History & Evolution

Very little details on this species history is known, the civilization only began to write down their history when their society began to stabilize. Beforehand the only records are journals from long deceased in dead languages.

Rogue Era

Rogue is the earliest time period one could properly record, the details are hardly known to mortals and one usually find this period documented by a now-dead god, The Archivist. This is the longest period of the species’ timeline.

Their existence is first born in a plasma of elements.

The pool held enough compounds and the right conditions to create life and the first of their kind comes out as a white lump of flesh with neurons trapped between its fibers of muscle. It dies, easily. It had no way to absorb or convert energy, so it wastes away.

Yet the plasma continues to output the same result with increasing complexity. Flesh with mucus, then with bones, then a rapid growth of nerves— the neurons lighting up with recognition.

Then comes the cycle of energy, breathable skin, a small set of lungs, blood vessels and gaping orifices, wet and disgusting.

This time, it crawls out of the plasma, moist writhing body of appendages with holes. It crawls away, feeding on everything and anything it touches.

Ravenous, it absorbs all that it can reach, and in this process gain mass for growth. it develops a brain, it develops a sense, it develops a mind. It understand itself and its body in the most advanced and intimate sense of self, it masters control of its body in the most minute of its components. Proteins, enzymes, dna, everything.

It does not wait for time and the environment to shape what it should be, so it evolves out of its own will.

Early Establishment

The first sighting of them was vague, it is not entirely clear when they were recognized as a species. Eventually they were dubbed Galaxiades from an explorer.

Very little was recorded during this stage of evolution but it is highly likely to be the primitive form of this species.

They tend to travel in small packs and were typically shy. The Galaxiades makes a very conscious attempt to avoid being confronted, thus most details of them are based on distant observation.

At some point they were so rare to see they were almost thought to have gone extinct, but they were later found to have mutated and lost some key appearance.

Golden Age

The defining factors of the Galaxiades were mostly lost at this point and the new form was renamed as Aarexas. This was a critical stage for the species as their civilization skyrocketed in advancement both technologically and -debatably- spiritually, making them incredibly powerful and threatening.

War within themselves only began to develop with the emergence of gods making their existence known to the Aarexas — each with their own hidden purpose in allying the powerful race.
