The usages of 'us', 'we', 'mods', and 'admins' refer to the moderators of Angelfish. By participating in Angelfish (through purchasing, creating, drawing, or interacting with Angelfish related posts) you are choosing to agree to these terms of service (TOS). It is your responsibility to keep up to date with the TOS. Failure to properly read the TOS is not an acceptable excuse for breaking the rules. Amends and additions may be added to the TOS at any time, without prior notice. If there is something on the TOS that you do not understand, please ask. Breaking the TOS can result in a warning, strike, or ban. We hold the right to give any of these punishments out as we see fit if any of the terms listed below are broken. Use ctrl + F or ⌘ + F to find specific rules.

An Explanation of Commonly Used Terms

• Warning - No punishment, not documented. A notice of something that you have done wrong; may be extremely minor, such as submitting a MYO incorrectly. Multiple egregious warnings can incur a strike or ban.
• Strike - No punishment, documented. Given out for breaking rules that wouldn't incite a ban, such as relisting an unresellable Angelfish for sale multiple times, after being warned. Multiple strikes will make you eligible for a ban.
• Ban - A temporary or permanent banishment from participation in Angelfish. Very rarely given, and only given when rules are egregiously broken, such as harassment or stealing.
• MYO - Make-your-own. An acronym for a pass that gives you permission to make 1 Angelfish. These are divided into 2 categories, common and rare. Please be sure to read up on the MYO guide for more information.
• FTO - First Time Owner. An acronym for someone who has never owned an Angelfish before, or someone who has not had any Angelfish for 4 months. Meaning, you could obtain an Angelfish in January, trade it a few days later, and in April you would qualify as a FTO again.

General Rules

• Angelfish are a closed species (CS) made by QIMERIC and GHOSTHYX. The concept and lore belong to QIMERIC and GHOSTHYX, and blatantly copying these ideas is a bannable offense. We do not claim to own any individual idea within Angelfish, but rather the concept as a whole.
  
• You may not make an Angelfish without explicit written permission from QIMERIC, GHOSTHYX or a MYO (see MYO Rules for more information).
  
• Commerical use of an Angelfish can be discussed. Please contact QIMERIC or GHOSTHYX.
  
• Discontinuation of an Angelfish from the species is heavily discouraged, but can be discussed. Please contact QIMERIC or GHOSTHYX.
  
• Begging for Angelfish, cheaper prices, or bothering mods or guest artists about how they choose to sell their adopts is not allowed, and will incur a strike.
  
• It is our goal to foster a caring and accepting community, and we will take the steps necessary to create such a community. Slurs, harrasment, bullying, insults, etc. will never be tolerated, and we will do our best to listen to complaints that people provide.
  
• The DeviantArt group and Toyhouse forums are for Angelfish only, do not submit non-Angelfish content.
  
• Mods/admins are the only people who can give out punishments and enforce rules. The list of mods can be seen on the group under the 'about us' tab, under the 'members' page on Toyhouse or in the discord, people who have the 'mod' role.
  
• We do not tolerate harassment or guilt tripping. Under no circumstances is hateful speech tolerated, and neither is begging for characters. This includes asking for free art or Angelfish unprompted or without permission.
  
• Stealing/copying/tracing is not permitted, and can earn you a ban.
  
• If something comes up, contact staff rather than talking about it publicly. Do not minimod- if you have an issue or concern, note the group about it.
  
• You must have a Toyhouse account that is at least 2 months old to own or purchase an Angelfish. If you have a newer Toyhouse account, but can prove that you own a Deviantart account that is more than 2 months old and active, you may bypass this rule.

Payment Expectations

• Payment is required within 48 hours of being told where to pay. Failure to do so means that the next bidder or claimer will be given the adopt or slot.
  
• Refunds are not provided for any reason. If you decide you are unhappy with an adopt or MYO slot that you have received, you may trade or resell it.
  
• Forcing a chargeback can earn you a ban.
  
• Payment plans may be offered by individual artists. They will set their own rules around this. It is expected that you will follow them, if taking a payment plan.
  
• Payment plans are not offered for MYO slots.
  
• Artists may have differing rules on permissions for what you can do with an Angelfish after being purchased. It is your responsibility to read each artists TOS and follow their rules.
  
• Please read the rules on each adopt or MYO sale.

Masterlist + Trading, Reselling, and Gifting Expectations

• If an Angelfish is not on the masterlist, then it is not a valid Angelfish. Creating Angelfish without permission can earn you a ban.
  
• It is your responsibility to update the masterlist after an Angelfish has been traded. You can update the masterlist by commenting on the masterlist post with the form provided in the post.
  
• Angelfish on the masterlist are already owned, and are not up to buy or trade. Begging for characters or asking for trades on the masterlist can earn you a strike.
  
• Please be careful when trading, and always ask for a link to an Angelfish's masterlist link when taking commissions, or trades, or reselling. The mods will do the best we can to help people avoid scams, but please exercise caution. Reimbursements for scams will be discussed if they happen.
  
• MYO slots cannot be sold for full price alongside addons. Only trade, partial resale and addons, or full resale is allowed.
  
• If you are the original owner of an Angelfish, and you wish to resell them for more than you bought them for, you need to fill out an appraisal form (found further down in this document). The original cost of an Angelfish is always listed on the masterlist. If you are looking to buy an Angelfish from someone reselling one, and the price is more than the listed original cost, and they do not provide valid appraisal proof, please inform a mod and do not buy from them.
  
• An Angelfish that has been traded to you cannot be resold for its original value, unless appraised.
  
• Angelfish that have been obtained for free (such as through a free raffle) may not be resold, unless appraised for extra art that has been bought.
  
• Gift art and art trades do not count towards the appraisal cost of an Angelfish. Art that you have drawn for an Angelfish can be added onto the appraisal amount only if you can prove that you do sell commissions for that cost, and have sold commissions at that cost before. Otherwise, the original cost of an Angelfish + the cost of any bought art is what goes into the appraisal total.
  
• Angelfish can always be traded. Please check the MYO slots section for MYO slot specific trade rules.
  
• Angelfish can always be gifted.
  
• Co-owning an Angelfish is not allowed. You may 'share' an Angelfish with other people, but the person whos name is on the masterlist is the one we will consider the owner of the character. We are not responsible for sharing related disputes.

MYO Slots

Non-FTO Slots

• MYO Slot prices are: $25 for a common slot and $30 for a rare slot.
  
• Paypal and points are accepted as payment for a MYO slot. MYO slots can also be purchased with crackers through the Angelfish shop.
  
• MYO Slots are only obtainable through events. These may be first come first serve (FCFS), raffle, unlimited, or a part of a special event.
  • FCFS: These events will have a limited number of slots available. The first people to comment will be the first to get the slot. Once slots run out, the event ends.
    
  • Raffle: These events will have a limited number of slots available, but instead of being given to whoever comments first, each person who comments will be given a raffle ticket. Tickets will be chosen through a random number generator. Payment is only required after a slot is won; you do not need to pay to participate in raffles.
    
  • Unlimited: These events do not have a limited number of slots. Instead, they have a limited time frame. Anyone who comments within that time frame will get a slot.
    
  • Special events: Sometimes events will have special rules, and are usually a part of a bigger event. The rules for these events will be documented in the event journal, as there is no standard for them.
  
  
• MYO slots may be resold, traded, or gifted. These changes must be reflected on the MYO tracker.
  
• MYO slots not listed on the MYO tracker are not valid.
  
• Creating Angelfish before owning a slot is heavily discouraged. Quickly sketching out quick ideas is fine, but full reference sheets and completed characters created when one doesn't have a MYO slot or explicit written permission is discouraged.
  
• Intentionally copying designs of other Angelfish is not allowed and can incur a ban.
  
• Angelfish MYO slots that have been obtained for free may not be resold.

FTO Slots

• FTO's may participate in any event, however, when purchasing a slot, they can get a 40% discount off the total price.
  
  • A quick rundown of those discounts are as follows:
  • 1 slot: $15
  • 2 slots: $30
  • 3 slots: $45
  • 4 slots: $60
  • 5 slots: $75
  • And so on
• FTO slots may be purchased with paypal, points, or crackers.
  
• To claim a FTO discount, simply state that you are a FTO when claiming a slot. The mods will be checking, and lying about being a FTO to obtain a discount can earn you a strike.
  

Gacha Slots

• 4 times a year, gacha slots are sold on the equinox of each season for $20. These slots can be purchased with paypal, points, or 20 crackers.
  
• FTO Discount does not apply to gacha slots.
  
• Gacha MYO slots come with a guideline. You must follow these guidelines when making your Angelfish, however some artistic liberty is granted, so long as it reasonably follows what is provided.
  
• Gacha slots may have rare traits, however, you cannot add whatever rare traits you wish. If there is a rare trait listed, then it is the only rare trait you can use on that MYO slot, unless an item is bought that allows the application of an additional rare trait.
