🐲 Fafnir Creation

Jump to: Hatchling, Young, Youth, Adult

🌿 Behemoth Functions 🌿

🌠 Hatching: Fafnirs are totally content to stay inside their eggs until the end of time. Unless... maybe... you have some interesting goodies you're willing to give them...? Write 400 words/draw your keke giving the egg something tempting to lure the hatchling out. What 'tempting' consists of is up to you. Art must be fully colored and a minimum of halfbody with a background. Must be cleanly lined or done in a clean lineless style. Backgrounds should show some effort and not just be a couple blobs of color
🌠 Benefiting: Nirs match their dragon-like appearance with having a magnificent treasure hoard. Other than physical objects, this hoard will also consist of special upgrades that they're able to pass to other keke! A Fafnir starts with one ascended upgrade (non-anniversary) that you'll be then able to put on any keke/PC you own for free as long as you own that Nir. They can get additional ascended non-anni upgrades by collecting 100 stars. Every 100 stars gets them one new passable upgrade. There is no cap on how many of these passable upgrades any one Nir can have
🌠 Offspring: When breeding, an Nir's offspring will be rolled from the opposite parent (ie Nir x Slugger will always result in Slugger eggs). If there is no parent of different type (ie Nir x Nir) the babies will simply be regulars. Due to this, Fafnirs cannot produce mixes or hybrids. Offspring have the option of being blessed. Blessed offspring can pick a max of 2 upgrades to apply on their application from the pool below. When submitting a blessed child for approval, the "type" field will have "Fafnir blessed" in front of it. For example: Type: Fafnir Blessed Webbed

A blue keke is shocked by the formation of small, dragon-like wings on their backAn orange tail with a golden cuff just before the tipA grey keke with a teardrop-shaped pouch

🌌 1: > Dragonling: Sprout a pair of nigh comically small dragon wings on or just behind the shoulder blades. These wings will have a thumb, two fingers, and itty bitty claws. May be any color and do not enable fight
🌌 2: > Tail cuff: Add a small, metal cuff towards the tip of the tail. Must be one of the Fafnir belly scale color options unless upgraded otherwise
🌌 3: > Teardrop pouch: Add a point to one side of the cheek pouches (or type equivalent like an Exo's ear bands). On round pouches, this will make a teardrop shape. Other types might look a little funky...

A teal tail with a little tuft of hair at the end

🌌 1: > Tufted tail: Add a small puff of fur to the tip of the tail. Keyword being small! Think sort of gerbil-like. May be any color

🌿 Egg 🌿

A cream-green egg covered in large, 'v'-shaped scales. It sits in a crown. The whole thing is very shiny and metallic

🍃 Nir eggs are called 'glimmering eggs' because, well, they're shiny! Shells have a metallic sheen to them which can range from 'acceptable' to 'oh my gosh'
🍃 Glimmering eggs are commonly found in piles of treasure. Or... "treasure". It seems someone left them there like that
🍃 Shells have visible 'V' shaped scaling on them, but if you ran your hand over this, you'd hardly notice it was there. The scales lie very flat with only the tiniest divot at the seams
🍃 Like other behemoths, Fafnirs must be coaxed from their eggs since they seem pretty content to hang out in there. Thankfully, those treasure piles they come in are a pretty good hint at what they might want
🍃 Eggs are not required for approvals! This is just info

🌿 Rules 🌿

🌱 Regular MYO rules apply with the exception of the following:
🌱 This type of keke must be obtained through an adventure, event, etc... They are not open to make unless you've earned one!
🌱 A Nir's passable upgrade may be applied to them on their hatchling application if desired

🌿 Hatchling 🌿
A green Fafnir with gold scales, floating and smiling with their eyes squished shut

🍃 Fafnirs are not only bigger than your average keke (though only about a foot at this age), but they're also super long. Their tail will probably have two or three extra feet compared to their peers! And keep an eye on it, cause it's not done growing yet
🍃 Despite being able to stand very tall due to their length, Nirs actually tend to lie much closer to the ground, propping themselves up with their elbows and rearing up higher when needed
🍃 Later on in life, a Nir will develop their own dragon hoard to watch over. For now though, they don't really know that. They just know they like things - and lots of them! Hatchlings are terrible at sharing and often steal whatever they want from whoever they want
🍃 Nir belly scales are a downwards 'V' shape and run all the way up their long necks. Instead of fluffy ears, they have two horns on each side of their head, though they're nubby at this age. Their cheek pouches are a spike that protrudes off the side of their face. They only have four teeth, two upper fangs and two lower, but they're already quite large. The eyes have slit pupils. The central paw pad is a teardrop shape with the pointed end facing inwards towards the arm. Toes are spreadable, more like or stubby fingers, and tipped with little baby claws. Fafnirs have dragon-like wings with a thumb and two fingers, all clawed. Don't think about flying with them yet, though... The long tail has a little metal cuff at them end before ending in a tuft

The image guide for creating Fenrises

🍂 1: Lines > Draw the base for your new Snakekey. Be sure to look at the anatomy examples here!
🍂 2: Base > Pick a base color. It can be any color as long as it's solid. Hatchlings don't have markings yet
🍂 3: Accent > Any solid color. This goes on the cheek pouches, paw pads, claws, and blood
🍂 4: Belly scales > Goes on the belly scales, tail cuff, and mouth/tongue. This can be a gold (varieties being yellow, rose, or white), silver, copper, or platinum. (There's not much color difference between a few of these, but you can have bragging rights). Gold and copper are warm-blooded, silver and platinum are cold-blooded
🍂 5: Eyes > Eyes can be any color. Fafnirs have a slit, cat-like pupil that can be any color as well, but both eyes must match!

🌿 Rules 🌿

🌱 Regular aging rules apply

🌿 Young 🌿
A young Fenris, blushing shyly and lying on their belly. One of their wings is raised

🍃 As they age, Nirs will gradually get pointier. For young keke, this means bigger teeth, claws, and horns
🍃 In addition to their body getting lengthier, young kekes' fingers get just a tad longer. Creepy if you think about it!
🍃 Like Shinies, Fafnirs start to really get into hoarding around this age. They need their dragon treasure pile, after all! While this commonly is things of value, there's nothing saying that a Nir isn't going to just... really like rocks or something and do that instead
🍃 While their passion for hoarding can push Nirs and Shinies to being somewhat territorial towards each other, they usually end up bonding over their mutual love for having grabby little hands instead. There are many cases where the two keke types become friends and will collect the other's hoard items as gifts for their buddy
🍃 Although their wings are bigger and they can begin learning how they work, flying at this age can quickly become exhausting. They'll never really grow to fully support a keke in the air (without upgrades), but the ratio currently quite tilted. They will be able to enjoy gliding, though!

🌿 Young Creation 🌿

The image guide for designing young Nirs

🍂1: Lines > Start by drawing the base image for your keke. Be sure to follow the anatomy examples shown here
🍂 2: Base > Snakekeys get their bases as hatchlings - this step is done and you can move on!
🍂 3: Color method > Choose a coloring method. Keep in mind that "variations of your base color" must appear to be in the same hue as the base. This means you can move the color slider say, from light orange to dark orange, but do not touch the slider you would use to change orange to blue much!
🌼Method A: 0-3 variations of the base color
🌻Method B: 1 variation of the base color, 2 of any color you like! Note that this method requires the use of 3 colors total
🍂 4: Design > Design your Snakekey with the colors you've chosen! Markings generally need to cover a lot of area. This can mean they are large in size or are very long. Smaller markings are okay as long as they're connected to a bigger marking of the same color. Spots generally should be no smaller than the entire hand and thin markings no shorter than arm's length. Do not use gradients on designs

🌿 Youth 🌿
A youth Fafnir, proudly standing on their arms, wings, and the tip of their tail with the rest of the naga body arched in the air. They have blotches and matching collar

🍃 Surprise surprise, youth Nirs have sharper sharps (horns, teeth, claws), and longer longs (fingers, body). Their wings are also a touch bigger, but not by much
🍃 By this time, Fafnirs pretty much have full-fledged hands. Er, minus the thumb. Regardless, it's still a pretty nice natural advantage to have...!
🍃 Unless they end up being a bit rotund, youths should have formed enough muscle for short bursts of controlled flight. Gliding is still much, much easier, though
🍃 If you're into getting flirty, Nirs actually use their fangs and claws to attract potential partners. Aside from big piles of wealth, spikes are considered quite attractive! Thusly getting nubby or lost teeth is a bit of a tragedy to some

🌿 Youth Creation 🌿

🍂 1: Lines > Start by drawing the base image for your keke. Be sure to follow the anatomy examples show here
🍂 2: Design > We've already done this and you're ready to go!
🍂 3: Upgrades > Keke youth are required to have at least one of the upgrades listed below. They can either keep or remove them once they reach adulthood. Once the approval's over, they have full access to these any time they wish (excepting on younger stages, of course). Note that a youth will always have to have a minimum of one of these and it can't just be removed after the approval process

A black keke with white botchesA purple keke showing chubbiness in the torso and naga tailA ten Zenith with smooth pink plates on the backside of their yellow eyes

💫 1: > Blotches - Youth
It looks like sores, but it's just little dots of the accent color appearing on the face. Scaled keke may try and pick off the affected scales, but this isn't a great idea, please don't pull scales out of things
💫 2: > Chubby - Youth
Maybe one day, this'll convert into a fae morph's figure. Until then, you've got a bit of a belly going on. Note that this shouldn't be a dramatic change - just noticeable. Can be on the torso, naga tail, or both
💫 3: > Eye Plating - Youth
Shaped scales that surround the eye and may branch off across the face for short distances. Can be any color. Should cover less than half of each side of the face

A tall grey keke looks down at a lighter keke of average heightTwo Plumies with keratin formations. The left's are extensive, going up to their eyes. The right's are more minimalA green Fafnir with a coppar collar on their neck to match the cuff on their tail

💫 1: > Growth spurt - Youth
Typically a sign of an oncoming reach morph. Allows a keke to be taller than average for their age. Nothing crazy, though!
💫 2: > Keratin formations - Youth
Keratin covering the tip of the upper and/or lower jaw. Alternately, may coat the entire muzzle up to the eyes, but no further. Must be smooth, not shaped
💫 3: > Matching collar - Fafnir only - Youth
Add a metal collar around the neck to match the band on the tail. Should be the default and shape and match the metal color unless upgraded otherwise. If the tail band has been upgraded to look different, this upgrade can match it if desired

A brown Fafnir opening their mouth, showing how small and nubby their fangs areA black and grey Shiny with gold belly scales that have swoops of silver mixed into themA blue keke with some missing attached teeth

💫 1: > Mini fangs - Youth
The attached teeth are... really small, actually. They're not totally gone, but you sorta look like a big hatchling now
💫 2: > Mismatched metal - Shiny and Fafnir only - Youth
The opposite of the belly color (gold if silver and vice versa) forms large, swirling markings on the mouth, bell, disks, and belly scales. For Nirs, you can just pick one of the metals you didn't use
💫 3: > Missing teeth - Youth
The teeth attached to your face are falling out again.... Hopefully they all grow back

A short green keke looks up nervously at a pink one of average height

💫 1: > Short stature - Youth
Your keke doesn't seem to have grown much...a common sign of an oncoming goblin morph. Allows them to be shorter than average for their age. Nothing crazy, though! This "upgrade" has a tendency to make them look a stage or two too young via underdeveloped face, body, etc

🌿 Adult 🌿
An adult Fafnir lying on their chest and elbows, Their tail forms an arc in the background and they smile at the camera

🍃 Depending on which morph they take on, a Nir may or may not be able to fly well at all. Spitfires struggle to cover long distances, brambles are near grounded, and surveyors due fairly well for themselves
🍃 At adulthood, a Nir will have reached full length in body, teeth, claws, and horns. The fingers get a touch longer, but actually lean towards getting a bit bigger. That's your landing gear, after all! It's got a lot of weight to catch
🍃 Despite their large size, these keke are often seen as winding and cunning. Less clumsy, more imposing
