🌿 Rules 🌿

🌱 Regular MYO rules apply with the exception of the following:
🌱 This type of PC must be obtained through an event or something similar. They are not open to make unless you've earned one!
🌱 Generally speaking, when playing a PC, replace "Snakekey" and "keke" with "PC" where applicable. For example, one of the creation rules reads: A keke must be created at the hatchling phase. Since you're not using a keke, you'd read this as: A PC must be created in the hatchling (/chick) phase. Granted, this won't work or make perfect sense with all rules, but it should be enough to get by
🌱 Xils are technically from Susie, but may also be considered a Xavier species [🌏&🪐]

🌿 Infant 🌿
Chipper_Infant.png

🍃 Xil babies are called "chipper infants", as they more often than not have a sunny, puppy-like demeanor
🍃 Infants antenna are exceptionally long... It's not uncommon for parents to tie it up before they end up tripping on them
🍃 For a short period after birth, the feather mane will be made up of soft, fuzzy down These fall off after a few weeks of growth to be replaced with something a little less water absorbent
🍃 Infants are not required for approvals! This is just info

🌿 Newborn 🌿

Xilgenaut_Newborn.png

🍃 Little Xils are happy, frocking things. They also tend to be clumsy, underfoot, and incessant question-askers
🍃 Just like lambs, newborns commonly bounce around on all four feet. With their high energy, they can do this for some time...!
🍃 Nauts have slight roman noses, but you probably won't notice at this age. They have shortened snouts that they have to grow into still. They have bumpy mouths with attached teeth, small and nubby for the moment. The edges of their mouths have open holes that can look quite spooky when acting tough. Their noses are rabbit-like with noticeable creases that run up to their eyes. They have small, blobby whiskers on each side of their face used to sense vibrations (typically while in liquid). Their 'ears' are actually antenna, which a baby Xil will have to grow into
🍃 There's a lumpy tread that runs from their neck down their underbelly that lets them stick to surfaces if they lay on them. Their legs are made of hard chitin, three-segmented, and tipped with bumpy feet...things. They have tiny, leathery wings on their backs with a small elytron clip as well as a feather mane that runs from the forehead all the way down to the rear end (very poofy at this age!) Their tails are used to store extra nutrients, but are only short blobs right now

🍂 1: Lines > Draw the base for your new PC. Be sure to look at the anatomy examples here!
🍂 2: Base > Pick a base color. It can be any color as long as it's solid. Newborns don't have markings yet
🍂 3: Accent > Any solid color. This goes on the antenna, inside of the mouth/tongue, whiskers, and tail
🍂 4: Feathers > Any solid color. Use to color the feathers on the head, neck, back, and butt
🍂 5: Eyes > Pick two solid colors, one for the pupil and the other for the iris (which covers the whole rest of the eye). The pupil has an iris-colored cross shape cut out of it,

🌿 Rules 🌿

🌱 Regular aging rules apply

🌿 Young 🌿

Xilgenaut_young.png🍃 Considering they've got a lot to grow into, young Xil's do... sort of an iffy job. Their antenna will appear smaller, but the difference is so minor, you'd probably only notice in before-and-after pics
🍃 The feather mane appears a bit smaller, but this is in part due to the change of feathers! Youngs begin to lose their baby fluff and grow more adult-y plumage. This, uh... sort of makes them a feather-dropping mess of a nightmare for this entire age phase, though. They'll get it eventually, but not yet...
🍃 As comes with looking vaguely more mature, the snout will be longer. Whether or not the slight roman nose is visible at this age is determined by the individual. Sometimes yes, sometimes no!
🍃 The tail and wings both elongate moderately in this phase (much more tail than wing). While a Xil's tail should always be plump with nutrients, it might look a touch slender here. This is no cause for alarm! Due to the tail growing rapidly all of the sudden, a kid won't be quite caught up with filling it. Also, they're using some of those spare nutrients to grow! In time, they'll get it back where it should be
🍃 One thing young Xils are great at growing into is their long legs. Young are lanky little beasts...! If you thought they were bouncy and all over the place before, you'd better,, bench this one, maybe. Their high energy is going to have them galloping sunup to sundown! (Okay, not really. They take naps in between ;) )
🍃 Along with running like madcreatures, Xils of this age will begin to explore their love for swimming. This love is inborn and it's highly rare for it to be absent! Still, in most cases, it waits to hit hard until the Xil isn't a baby to avoid any scary situations. Now that they know the truth, they'll likely spend an excess of time in the water
🍃 While water is likely the most accessible medium, Xils can develop a preference for swimming in other things. Space, with its soupy texture, is actually quite common, too! Other sources may pop up such as mud and bubbles. Just hope you don't get a food-based one or you'll be locking your pantry!

🌿 Young Creation 🌿

🍂1: Lines > Start by drawing the base image for your PC. Be sure to follow the anatomy examples shown here
🍂 2: Base > Xils get their bases as newborns - this step is done and you can move on!
🍂 3: Cover > Pick 0-2 colors that are the same type as the base (so greens for a green base, etc) and use them to make a gradient or solid blob over the top side of the Xil, which counts as anywhere that isn't the chin, underside of the neck, underbelly, and insides of the legs. You can leave it there or you can add dapples! Dapples can be small blotches cut out of the cover you've just made or small blotches of color coming off of it
🍂 4: Piebaldism > Use a white or a black (or one of each, if you like) to add spots to your Xil! Blacks/whites can slightly be tinted a color, but only slightly. There must be at least one spot on the design, though there is no size min/max for them (spots can even 100% cover the base design...!)

🌿 Youth 🌿

Xilgenaut_youth.png🍃 Considering how all-legs the young phase is, youth Xils generally do a pretty good job of filling out. However, this is quite high-cost for the body! While the tail will elongate to almost its full length, it may be somewhat slender or feature an "upgrade" where it appears partially depleted. This is fairly normal early on in the phase. Just make sure to consume plenty of food mid to late-phase...! At that point, it's no longer healthy to be so skinny
🍃 Youths are grown in to most of their other features, too. They'll only be behind adults a tiny bit with antenna and mane that are merely an inch or so too long. Likewise, the wings, tail, legs, neck, face, and body length will be very near their expected length
🍃 Younger Xils have a torso that isn't unlike a simple tube. At this age however, they'll develop a deepness in their chests, possibly accompanied by a slenderness in their waists. This gives them more lung-room, which aids them in running and swimming
🍃 Akin to Snakekeys, Xils have a slightly rough teenager phase that can feature detrimental upgrades

🌿 Youth Creation 🌿

🍂 1: Lines > Start by drawing the base image for your PC. Be sure to follow the anatomy examples show here
🍂 2: Design > We've already done this and you're ready to go!
🍂 3: Upgrades > PC youths are required to have at least one of the upgrades listed below. They can either keep or remove them once they reach adulthood. Once the approval's over, they have full access to these any time they wish (excepting on younger stages, of course). Note that a youth will always have to have a minimum of one of these and it can't just be removed after the approval process

Open spoiler to see youth upgrades!

Snakekey_Upgrade_Base_-_Bitbite.pngSnakekey_Upgrade_Base_-_Chitin_spurs.pngSnakekey_Upgrade_Base_-_Double-deep_ches

💫 1 > Bitbite - Xilgenaut only - Youth
Xils have a hole in the corner of their mouths, but it's usually hidden unless they open them. This makes it visible all the time! Doesn't change colors
💫 2 > Chitin spurs - Xilgenaut only - Youth
Parts of the feet grow spines up to four inches long. These can look like dewclaws or just like... your growth hormones went kinda batty. They have a higher tendency to be present on the back sides of the digit, but it's not impossible for them to be on the front. So watch out! May be any color
💫 3 > Double-deep chest - Xilgenaut only - Youth
Technically this can make you a better runner/swimmer, but it might also look a little silly depending on who you ask. Deepen the chest further than usual. Doesn't change colors

Snakekey_Upgrade_Base_-_Droopy_wings.pngSnakekey_Upgrade_Base_-_Flopfeather.pngSnakekey_Upgrade_Base_-_Knock-kneed.png

💫# > Droopy wings - Xilgenaut only - Youth
The wings have reduced movement or total loss of it, making them hang at the sides. This is pretty much harmless - just make sure you don't bonk them on anything...! Doesn't change colors. If applied on other species, this will be invisible unless there are wings present to limp-ify. Should be used on back wings if applicable, but may be moved to arm (or otherwise) wings if none are present
💫# > Flopfeather - Xilgenaut and Plumie only - Youth
Woe, emo feathers be upon ye. If there isn't a tuft of head feathers, this upgrade can add them. Then, it knocks them over and makes them hang from the head, as if they're too heavy to stand up on their own. In Xils, this may also affect the rest of the feather mane, toppling that too. All flopped feathers can be elongated up to six inches if desired. Doesn't change colors unless used to lengthen or add feathers
💫# > Knock-kneed - Xilgenaut, Fawnette, Pterrur, Exoskeletal, Furnan, Arboreal, Looksee, and Parchment only - Youth
The limb joints are bent towards each other, sometimes even touching. Despite the name, this affects the elbow and/or wrist joints. Feet may remain at their default orientation or turn inwards towards each other. This upgrade only affects legs if it's used on a species with no arms. Does not change colors

y__lankiness_by_hannah__bug_ddya9pi-fullSnakekey_Upgrade_Base_-_Scanttenna.pngy__shedding_by_hannah__bug_ddy9wb5-fullv

💫 # > Lankiness - Youth
The limbs (and  potentiality the rest of the body) take on a noticeable extra amount of length. You're a bit of a beanpole... Can increase height two feet maximum
💫 # > Scanttenna - Xilgenaut only - Youth
The sensilla on the antennas sometimes shed like the mane has. It doesn't need to do this, it's just... feeling left out or something... Some or all of the "hairs" (sensillum) on the antenna is absent. Keep in mind that missing a significant portion of this stuff will affect a Xil's "hearing"! Total loss equates to near deafness. This upgrade can remove all of the sensillum, but the main "stick" of the antenna that's connected to the head will remain! Doesn't change colors. May effect antenna on other species, but if they're 'tenna-less, this won't be visible!
💫 # > Shedding - Youth
You're hair's falling out! Thankfully, it's not enough to be visible. But there is loose fluff everywhere

Snakekey_Upgrade_Base_-_Wobble_stinger.p

💫 # > Wobble stinger - Xilgenaut only - Youth
Jokingly called a "stinger", this extension from the tail is actually fleshy and useless for stabbing. Having this means either a Xil is underweight, growing a lot (as in the youth phase), or has a flag of excess skin atop their tail. The stinger can account for the total tail length, replacing the end bit, or be placed on the existing end of the tail, lengthening it. The stinger itself may be any color. Can be very short or up to a foot long. If placed on other keke, this will affect the naga tail if there isn't a hip tail. If placed on a species with no tail, the stinger can be the tail itself. A fleshy, empty-bag tail

🌿 Adult 🌿

Xilgenaut_adult.png

🍃 The feathers and antenna of more mature Xils are hydrophobic, repelling water like a duck's feathers. This helps them to remain efficient swimmers despite their patchy streamlining. Even then, when aiming for speed, most Xils will swim with 90% of their chitinous body underwater and their fluffy bits above the surface
🍃 The strangely shaped feet of Xilgenauts form rudimentary paddle-like shapes. With semi-hollowed backs, these are used as scoops with which to propel them through their desired swimming medium
🍃 Xil wings are too small for flight, even at their adult length. Instead, they're used to emote with other Xilgenauts. In a pinch, they might also provide a bit of extra swimming thrust, though they're more useful for floating and treading water
🍃 These guys are often equipped with a perky, energetic personality. Stereotypes say they're happy about everything and even a little air-headed. In reality, they're a beast made for a lot of moving around, and move around they must! They often take "zoomie breaks" and shouldn't be expected by default to sit still for long periods
🍃 While both sets of feet are lumpy on their under and backsides, the hind feet are notably more disorganized in shape than the front. This allows the front feet to be more precisely used for interacting with objects, though their ability to do so still is... pretty poor in comparison to hands. Similarly, the hind feet are used for rougher tasks such as digging or breaking things down
🍃 Xils have castes as opposed to morphs or builds. These aided them more in their days of living in wild herds, but are still around regardless
