Candlins (Candle Gremlins) are small humanoid creatures made of wax with a base as/covering their lower body. They are also made with a wick going down the center of their entire body. A Candlin's life is tied to it's wick, and they can live indefinitely so long as they have even a bit of wick left. Despite this, Candlins are notably happier when their wicks are lit.

They are often compared to fae and can have helpful or detrimental properties depending on the Candlin. These properties are intensified when they are burning, and they can be either supremely advantageous or absolutely catastrophic to be around.

Candlins can be any gender! Candlins are capable of wearing clothes, most often ones specifically tailored towards them or dolls. Even so they tend to not wear clothes while burning as to avoid catching them on fire/getting wax on them. They are often materialistic and deeply appreciate gifts, even more so if the gift was made just for them!

[Anything in real life that can be used as a scent, coloring, embeds (such as flowers, shells, etc) can be used for your Candlin as well. Really, just finding or thinking of any possible candle shapes, holders and glasses can also be used!]

All wax-based life, Candlins included, is created within the Furnace. The origin of this structure is a mystery, even to those who have spent decades dedicating their life to researching it.
Because of this, Candlins often see the Furnace as a sort of ruler or deity and do their utmost to maintain it and keep it safe. One of the defining features of the Furnace are the Candlins who choose to make themselves of service to it. The chosen few who are accepted into servicing the Furnace are entrusted with the future of the species, so they must be trustworthy and capable.

Candlins can and will migrate away from the Furnace towards other parts of their tiny little world whenever they please to wherever they please. Houses, villages and towns can be found spread out all across the regions, with a wide variety of places to potentially call home. Through a long journey, they may even hop into another world entirely! The Candlin world consists of four major regions, as well as multiple subregions, and is ever expanding.

Even in their humble beginnings, Candlins have been known to value information and materials, and are a people that bases their entire system of exchange on trading. While this has changed over time in some places, Their bargaining roots and desire to collect such valuables for themselves remains today.
