Here are some prompts to help develop your idea and your Kofling.
1. Koflings are manifested from memories. What stuff do you have lying around your room or up in your attic that means a lot to you? Are there any specific items that stick out to you from childhood memories?
2. Take a look through the official Koflings. Which sorts of designs appeal to you, and which don’t? This will help keep your design unique and distinct from others.
3. Have a scroll through Pinterest! There are so many different aesthetics which might help spark some ideas for how your Kofling could look and their overall vibes.
4. Look around your house or wherever you are right now. Are there any tiny items that could be swallowed up by a Kofling to fill their ears?
5. Sometimes it’s easier to start with the accessory - which objects around your home could be worn or carried by a tiny creature?
6. It might help to develop the character first, and let the design come second. Check out these ideas for developing a Kofling.
MYO RULES
> MYO slots will be exclusively sold in rare, small batches, so I can give each owner-to-be the attention and time they need to help bring their Kofling to life. There is no set schedule to openings - be sure to keep an eye on toyhouse bulletins and Twitter posts. An exception is made for owners of previous generation Koflings (2015-2017) for whom slots are always available.
> To ensure MYO designs fit the species, the initial concept (source item, eg. burger king crown, and ear item, eg. burger gummies) must be approved, then the design itself must be discussed during creation (on Discord) and approved at the end. Designs that do not align with the information in the About page must be changed before approval, so read it carefully.
> You do not pay for the slot until your ear and source items have been approved. The things that Koflings can manifest from and contain are subject to specific requirements listed in the guide and info below. If the items you had in mind don't fit (and you don’t want to make a new idea), you can choose to release the slot to someone else. After idea approval, refunds are not offered. It is your responsibility to ensure the MYO is approved at the final stage.
> The slot must be fully paid before you are able to get assistance on your design to avoid potential timewasting. In addition, you receive valuable resources upon purchase which will assist in creation, such as an exclusive lineart. Of course, you may draw your ideas out in private before securing a slot. Purchase must be made within 3 days of claiming a slot.
> Commissioning someone to design your MYO is A-okay! I am happy to go through the above process with the artist instead, or with both of you together. The artist should be made expressly aware of the species ref and detailed information, MYO guide, and rules, before beginning work on the commission. Artists can set their own prices for this and must be properly credited for their design and artwork.
> Yes, MYO slots can be resold for the purchase price, or traded for OCs/art of any value. ALWAYS check for purchase proof before buying or trading for a slot. MYO slots are listed in the masterlist, so you can easily check here too. Fake slots will not be reimbursed or approved.

Ear and Source Items
Neither source nor ear items can be reused for more than one Kofling, so check the masterlist and reserved ideas list (below) to ensure your items aren't already taken.
The source item must have a memory tied to it with a living person who remembers it. It therefore means something to someone, so couldn’t just be a fast food container sitting in a parking lot. Also, it has to have been left alone for 5-10 years for a Kofling to manifest, so take this into consideration when thinking about the source item (for example, it couldn’t be merch from a 2020 tour) and its human counterpart (who couldn’t be a 4 year old). Check the ‘items’ link below for pre-approved source items.
The most common reason for a MYO idea being denied is the size of the ear item. These are strictly small enough to fit in the Kofling’s mouth and out of their nose flap. Some examples of things that would fit: pen lids, coins, bottle caps, screws. Things that would NOT fit: figurines, drinks cans, lightbulbs… Remember that they may be edible (like Ype’s burger gummies) but not able to go mouldy or decay, so no meat, dairy, bread, donuts, etc. Acceptable food would be dry cereal, gummy sweets, and hard candy. Also remember the item must be man-made in nature, so nuts would not count here. Check the ‘items’ link below for pre-approved ear items.

A note on Dark and Forest Koflings: in the future, there will be two new kinds of Kofling released. Dark Koflings, creepy creatures with unpleasant ear contents (e.g. ashes), based on traumatic memories, and Forest Koflings, manifested from all naturally occuring items such as plants and rocks. Read about both in the About section. Therefore, currently neither of these kinds of item is accepted in regular Kofling designs. Thanks for your patience!

Design Q&A
Previously, people have asked the following things regarding their MYO Kofling. The answers are here to help clear things up for others.
Q: Can I add a tail/horns/wings to my Kofling?
A: No. Koflings do not have any of these physical features.
Q: Can the mouth be different to the examples?
A: Teeth and tongue have to be as presented in the reference sheets. Sharper, jagged teeth and different tongues will be released in the future with the arrival of Dark Koflings.
Q: Can my Kofling be based on a copyrighted source item? For example, a plush from a TV show?
A: Given the fact that, if they were real, there would be a whole bunch of Koflings that manifested from old plushies, I have no problem with this lore-wise. However, I hold no liability for any issues you may encounter from owning a MYO Kofling based on copyrighted material and won’t offer refunds or reimbursements.
Q: Can my Kofling have scars, missing limbs, etc.?
A: Koflings do not tend to get into fights. They only react when trying to defend their source item or human from perceived threats, and since ear items are only used once, there is never fighting over food. They are also not territorial. Therefore, it is very unlikely a Kofling will have scars and other injuries. That said, small injuries from accidents that could occur from the environment (eg. falling boxes in the attic) are accepted. Note that gore is never okay.
Q: How fluffy is too fluffy?
A: They can be pretty fluffy! Ype is on the fluffier side, for reference - fluffier than him is fine, but super long, hanging down fur isn’t. All Koflings have at least a head tuft, but can have shorter/tidier fur on the body than Ype does.
Q: Do they always have to be soft and sweet?
A: Sometimes, given the source item, a super soft cuddly looking Kofling doesn’t quite fit. In these cases, a punkier or more emo-looking Kofling is allowed. But beware that they aren’t too dark and grungy, because (again) this is a plan for the future with Dark Koflings. Regular Koflings almost all have upbeat vibes and are manifested from happy memories, and their designs should fit that.
Q: Can my Kofling have more than one ear item?
A: The Koflings seek out only one item. However, if the different items are small and close together, for example, tiny figurines and their accessories, it’s feasible that they would also accidentally swallow them as well (particularly if they are an especially enthusiastic eater). Still, their ears would be filled mainly with the actual item, rather than an even split between both. Items that are different variants on the same object, such as different coloured Lovehearts candy or Lucky Charms cereal, count as one item.
