Evolution

Posted 2 years, 5 months ago by closedaccount123

Important information to note:
- Pokemon who normally evolve by level-up will evolve at the same level in Capsule-Mon
- Pokemon who evolve by stone / location / trade / weather / time of day / move set will require an Incense from the Shop
- Pokemon who evolve by friendship / affection will evolve at level 30 with a minimum of (1) group image or literature drawn / wrote by you. The group image must be a colored full body or 500 words depicting at least one other Pokemon owned by yourself or another member
- If a Pokemon such as Espeon/Umbreon/Sylveon has two requirements i.e. friendship/affection + time of day, you may choose between which method to evolve them by
- Pokemon that possess the Hybrid trait will need to meet the requirements of all species in the fusion
- As an addendum to the above, species in a Hybrid can consist of a pre-evolution and evolution. You can go from a Pikachu/Eevee to a Pikachu/Jolteon as long as the requirement for Jolteon is met
- A new reference must be provided at the time of evolution. You may skip any middle evolutions if your Pokemon meets all requirements for its final form

Starter Rolls

New to Capsule-Mon?

Please refer to the [Compendium] and [Reference Guide] when designing your Pokemon.

What are starter rolls?
Starter rolls are two randomly generated Pokemon to start you off in the ARPG! They have a small chance to be traited and are able to immediately be traded or resold once recorded in your inventory.

What if I don't like my starters?
No worries! You get one free reroll that allows you to reroll one of your two starters.

Levels / Currency

Posted 2 years, 5 months ago by closedaccount123
Please read through each section thoroughly to understand how levels and tokens are awarded per category!

Artwork

Artwork is one of the primary ways in the group to earn levels and tokens. From sketches to detailed pieces, each step in the process awards you a certain amount that can be stacked together. For example: a colored full body with clean lineart would award you 800 tokens / 7 levels based on stacking together a) full body b) lineart and c) color.

For group images featuring more than one Pokemon, the levels awarded do not total the combined amount. Levels are only given for the categories of each individual Pokemon. If one of the Pokemon is a full body sketch and the other is a colored full body with clean lineart, then they would get 5 levels and 7 levels respectively (not 12).

Please note that any art submitted must be your original work. Tracing has a no tolerance policy that will result in an immediate ban. If you struggle with referencing your Pokemon, remember that the group is here to help!

Category Tokens Levels
Headshot 100 1
Chibi 250 2
Half Body 300 3
Full Body 500 4
Sketch 100 1
Lineart / Lineless 200 2
Color 100 1
Shading 200 2
Patterned Background 100 1
Simple Background 250 2
Complex Background 500 4

Background Examples

Example Description
wooper1.png
Patterned BG
Just a repeatable pattern behind the Pokemon that has no depth, shading, or perspective.
wooper2.png
Simple BG
A background that might have depth and perspective, but shapes are usually simplified down.
wooper3.png
Complex BG
A background that has definable shapes that show depth, perspective, and shading. Pokemon might show interaction with the background in the form of lighting and pose.

Material

Category Tokens Levels
(1"-3") Small Doll/Figurine/Plushie 2,500 20
(4”-6”) Medium Doll/Figurine/Plushie 5,000 40
(7”+) Large Doll/Figurine/Plushie 7,500 60

All other things are on a case-by-base basis! Please get in contact with a moderator either through Toyhouse or by Discord to have it assessed!

Animations

Animations can also stack categories and multiply them based on each unique and hand drawn frame (meaning that the entire drawing must be redrawn completely to count for any multipled categories). Frames that reuse any part of a drawing will not earn tokens or levels.

They will, however, earn an additional animation bonus based on the complexity of the animation! This animation bonus is only counted once on top of your total tokens and levels. Below are the two different ways in which animations are judged:

Simple Animations = 200 Tokens / 2 Levels
Animations that involve little to partial movement such as blinking, wriggling, ear flicking, tail wagging, etc

Complex Animations = 500 Tokens / 5 Levels
Animations that typically involve multiple parts moving or full body movement such as walking, running, flying, dancing, etc

Literature

An alternative way to earn levels and tokens is by writing about your Pokemon! For every 100 words written you will be awarded 100 Tokens / 1 Level. If you wrote a 300 word story, then you would gain 300 Tokens / 3 Levels for that Pokemon.

Writing also awards a bonus of 200 Tokens / 2 Levels based on each 500 word milestone that you reach. If you wrote a 500 word story, then you would earn a collective 700 Tokens / 7 Levels with the bonus included.

Group submissions do not split levels like artwork. If more than one Pokemon is featured in your writing, they will all gain the amount of levels awarded per word. Keep in mind that simply mentioning another Pokemon or having them appear briefly will not count as a group submission; each Pokemon in the story must have equal or close to equal involvement.

The above also applies to roleplay between two or more people. You and your partner(s) will earn tokens and levels based on the total amount of words between all parties, but both the people and Pokemon must have equal or close to equal involvement. The milestone bonus every 500 words will also apply to roleplays.
