MIASMODA are aliens believed to be made of pure concentrated miasma. They come from the planet Miasm and love to travel to all sorts of different planets to settle down. Sadly, only Miasm has the atmospheric conditions required for their miasma bodies to remain gaseous... in any other planet, their bodies would slowly solidify into a goopy mass, eventually fully solidifying and drying out. This semi-solid miasma is referred to as Miasmer.
Thankfully, they've found a way to live on other planets without turning to stone! Miasmoda will wear skins resembling the lifeforms of the planets they intend to visit. Said skins are fashioned to protect their miasma bodies from the unkind atmospheres of other plants and conceal their true forms. Only some Miasma end up sticking out of the back of their bodies, resulting in a slimy Miasmer tail alike a slug. No worries though - Most Miasmoda have shells for this purpose. Shells sit at the base of their tails and are a safe area where they can hide their tails and rehydrate them so they do not fully dry out. (Despite this, some mutant Miasmoda specimens have found a way to cope even without a shell!)
While the typical understanding of miasma is that of 'bad air', the Miasmoda's miasma is not necessarily foul smelling. However, all of them do have noticeable scents based on their miasma makeup, ranging from fruity to acidic to anything under the sun. While not always harmful, some of their miasmas can bring bad luck or bodily harm...
They're not big fans of their miasma bodies being pulled out from the skins they wear! If it does happen though, they typically turn into slug-like creatures imitating earth’s fauna and flora. In these forms they are slow, weak and pathetic, so they mostly try to avoid danger or conflict.
