Archaeus Chartreuse's Links
Archaeus considers everyone his fan, yet he feels something different with Terry. It's like... those NPC guardians that offer housing. He can't help but feel that there's something to the tired teacher that's very important, and thus the character is determined to stick around and figure out just what it is.
Archaeus and the story he's revolved around was written by Terry back when he was eleven. Naturally it was horrendous in every angle, and thus Terry abandoned it, hoping to never have to relive such awful mistakes. Then he found himself face-to-face with his story's protagonist. At first he assumed it was an old student pulling a prank, maybe learning about his story and pretending to be the guy, but as time passed Terry learned that this was no actor, this was the actual character. He has no idea what's happened but feels a sense of obligation taking care of the... character. At least until he can figure out how to erase this mess. Permanently.
Ah Xeno, Archaeus's arch enemy! Xe's smart as xe is deadly, but no plans or weapons of xer's is any match for his pure, awesome powers!
How these two manage to somehow break reality just enough to work in their respective favors is a complete mystery to all, but at least they seem happy. Despite the two bickering with fancy monologues all the time, Archaeus does authentically care for Xeno. He doesn't always understand what's going on or what the right approach is, but he supports xer and xer endeavors.
[TH AU] Curses! That daring, that damnable, that dashing Archaeus, always foiling xer plans! If there was ever a superpower that could best Xeno's beautiful, storyspun machines, it's one of just being the narrative's most specialist snowflake. And yet- It is hard not to notice that there is a kind of fondness there, between the madness. Maybe xe's excited for a chance to let loose, to inhabit the prime villainy that cohorts whisper xe lacks. Maybe xe doesn't mind how Archaeus always wins, if it means he gets to feel like a hero. It's hard not to get to know somebody, once you've engaged in enough pun-wars over boiling lava- And xe's seen enough glimmers of a genuine kindness in Archaeus to find xerself, against the odds, caring more and more.
