"You see these boys right here? All of them? They're all going to be yours when you get older. Sounds pretty great but I need you to know... that you will have a big responsibility. Their lives are in your hands."
- Jasper (Father)
Leng was born in Tijuana, Mexico. His father is the notorious Dragon Head of the Laohu tribe, despite not even being Chinese in the first place. And him being the only child, he is automatically the individual to take his father's place.
He grew up rarely noticing what a struggle was and often relied on others to do his work for him. However, Taishen was still a disciplined child nonetheless because of his wise father - but he didn't really feel so connected with anyone... except for one.
Another kid that stayed with him at all times, Nero, had been his friend this whole time. He admired Nero because of how strong he would be - but Lin didn't want Nero to struggle for the sake of him. Not at all.
"You know what Leng? I'll give you what you want. I'm not going to send you guys that far, but I need you to know - you're always going to come back here. No matter how far you'll run."
- Jasper (Father)
Countless days Leng would be sheltered in his home and he would watch Nero struggle to keep the heir safe from afar. He only wanted him to be free from pain, but even Leng was scared of Nero's father and fearful of confronting him about his child. Hence he came to his father, begging him to let Leng and Nero leave the Triad for a temporary time until it was time for him take the throne.
His father allowed him to live in a small house with Nio in the United States. Despite being free from anything related to the Laohu group, the both of them were somewhat paranoid of the possible ways that could endanger them solely of their affiliation of the Laohu. They even had their names changed to Lin and Nio because of it.
They were pair of new students that entered a new public school in the middle of the Sophomore year. But because of how hard it was to trust others and opening up to them - they only remained with each other and away from others until student named Emery saw Lin's tattoos. Worried that the girl might expose them to other people, they were constantly watching her or just simply by her side until she was trustworthy. It didn't take long for her to prove that she was.
The two of them would eventually be pulled into Emery's little friend group and they remained unbroken even after they graduated highschool.
"Lin... I can't help it. Maybe it was I was raised this way. Or maybe it's because I lo- No. I'm not going to stop protecting you. If you're gone - then I'll be useless. What possibilities are there if you're not here because I let you die?! Hate me all you want! I'm going to keep doing it because you're so important to me."
- Nio
After graduation, Lin took interests in going into a University to further his education. He figured that the classes he'd take would be beneficial to the Laohu group. Though, Nio had no interests in going to college.
Because of his choices, Nero would be away from Lin but not for too long. During the semesters, he'd be away to further his training as a fighter until the Triad called Nio back home in order to take his father's position (who was recovering from the casualties of one of the missions). And during Nero's absence, Leng grew worrisome for Nio's wellbeing and the thoughts of his death only made it worse.
And everytime he came back during their breaks from University, Nio appeared to come back with different kinds of casualties he was suffering from working in the Laohu group. And Lin's worries ended up progressively until they were at eachother's throats because of Nero's health. It was to a point where they broke their friendship and they refused to see eachother face to face. Afterwards, Nio disappeared from Lin once again.
But what Lin didn't know was that Nio had been watching Lin from the shadows and protecting him from anything that threatened him. During the celebration of his graduation from University outside of the Triad HQ, Nio stopped an attack that was targeted towards Lin and his father and was sent to the hospital soon after because of the mortal wounds he suffered during the attack. Leng spent months in the hospital, seeing Nio that had been in a coma this whole time. Thankfully he had woken up and made a complete recovery not long after,
After the recovery, both Lin and Nio still had plenty of time before they'd go back to the Laohu. Hence they decided they'll travel the world together until Lin becomes the new Dragon Head.
- Leng is the only child of the current Dragon Head of the Laohu group. He grew up with his best friend, Nio, his protector.
- Leng is concerned for Nio's safety and therefore decided that they would leave the Triad for a while and enter a public school in the US.
- Emery discovers Lin and Nio's identity, but never had exposed the two at all. The two befriends her and is brought into her group circle.
- After graduation, Lin enters university while Nio withdraws from their friend circle to go back to the Laohu Triad because of his father was recovering from his wounds.
- Lin couldn't handle Nio suffering from his wounds and got into an argument with him - they broke up. It wasn't until they became friends yet again after Nio woke up from a coma (after he saved him from an attack).
- Him and Lin decided they'll travel around the world until the Laohu calls for them, and it was time for Lin to become the next generation Dragon Head.
