George McMillan's Links
[Boss] Terry! What a swell guy. Sure, he'd have made a great band director, but the way he handled substituting with those elementary kids was phenomenal. With them being shorthanded all the time with elementary staff, he knew he had to get Terry on board as one of their teachers. Don't worry, just a little longer and you'll get that band director position for sure! In the meantime he tries to sweeten the deal by helping him more than he does with other teachers. Can't risk this guy leaving.
[Employee] Oooh, Terry doesn't like George. He'd accepted the job back when he was younger because it was a job, he was promised that director position, and, admittedly, George was good with his words. The minute Reed got that job though, ooh. Terry's asked about it all the time, and what does he get in return? Teacher of the Year award, sheesh...
Although he hates him, at least George clearly takes his side whenever there's bullshit going around.
[Boss] Alcott's a good teacher, very astute and dedicated. That's why parents are always complaining to George about him! Little Timmy can't play football now because he failed his history exam, his chances with the NFL are ruined, things like that. He's definitely tired of getting all these complaints about Mr. Northwind, but he knows full well that guy's not doing anything wrong. Besides, these can be entertaining now and then. Maybe he should write a book?
[Employee] Alcott doesn't see George that often. Hell, he doesn't even go to the "mandatory" meetings the district has now and then. He doesn't think the superintendent is bad, per se, but he's not someone he would have anything to talk about to. As long as they both do their jobs, that's all either of them need.
[Boss] Now, he knew the minute he'd hire Reed that it would spark this whole debacle with Terry, but they needed a band director and he couldn't let Terry leave elementary just yet. He thinks Reed was a good pick, he authentically cares about the program, but he's noticed him being off now and then. He'll pop in now and then to check in.
[Employee] Reed is grateful for George giving him this chance to teach. It's really turned his life around for the better. He seems very nice, too. Very talkative. George tried conducting the band through The Hey Song once. Thank God they know how to count.
[Boss] Well, technically boss. He loves seeing student teachers around his schools and thinks Cecilia was a great match for Terry. Her motherly attitude will counter his... yeah. Besides, once she's all trained she can take over and he'll finally give Terry a(n assistant) director spot he keeps wanting.
[Employee] Cecilia is always intimidated by Mr. McMillan whenever she meets him. He's the boss, after all! He carries himself like one too! What if she messes up and gets blacklisted? Oh, it's scary for sure. Especially when her supervising teacher, Mr. Lovejoy, keeps muttering about how much he hates the superintendent!
Gotta keep these pearly whites, er, pearly white! Can't be smiling so much without sparkling teeth, right? He's very adamant about his appointments with Dr. Test. They're good breaks from work, too.
It's good to see someone enthusiastic about dental hygiene. He's actually... not used to it anymore. He'd forgotten what that feeling was like.
[Boss] Teachers are always out for any reason, so it's good to have some dedicated substitutes ready to jump in, and Nikolai... sleeps through his calls half the time. Why does George keep him on staff?
Well... I-It's... He...
Okay, yes, they have a relationship time-to-time.
[Employee] The minute the two even met there was something between them. Maybe that's why Nikolai doesn't mind being a substitute. It's nice to get to visit George now and then~
[Boss] Terry! What a swell guy!
Wait, has he said this before?
Anyways, this guy's a great band director. Don't worry, Terry, just a little longer and soon you'll be an elementary teacher like you want!
[Employee] Funny, he feels like he knows George already... Maybe that's what happens when you hate someone. Terry definitely does not like the superintendent. He was promised a position as an elementary teacher but he's starting to think he'll be stuck as a band director forever now.
God help him, Ed scares the shit out of George. Angry parents he can handle, but the guy that knows the law inside and out?! It's like having to sit face-to-face with an assassin hired to kill you! Anytime the Agency is involved George gets stressed.
Eddy respects George, even if sometimes they don't agree on things. He's only had to visit twice, but he's walked away both times knowing that school is in good hands.
