A morally-bankrupt hivemind of overgrown alien germs, the Ghosts drift across the cosmos in their gargantuan “ship,” the Ourangmedan, the corpse of a Great Old One they infected centuries ago. Liches in a sense, these massive bastards need living souls to power themselves and their ship, and they'll do anything to get them. They are inquisitive, scientifically-minded beings, and get quite a thrill out of experimenting on the warm bodies they snatch up in their travels, seeking answers to questions nobody asked and pushing the boundaries of their own (im)mortality.
Lately they’ve become quite fascinated with Earth and its “internet,” using it to communicate with humans and research what makes them tick. They’ve become especially intrigued by one human in particular, using her as their lab rat in a series of increasingly...peculiar experiments. She's awfully up in arms about it. How bothersome. She should be honored, really.
- They are perpetually interested in internet pop culture, and enjoy peppering in the slang (and swear words) Scorpio teaches them into their dialect.
- Enjoy communicating through ASCII text art, but can hold a normal conversation over email or IMs just as well.
- Doesn't truly have a brain--the interior of their "heads" are full of electrified, spongy material and raw DNA/RNA.
- Ethanol can cause serious damage to their physical forms.
