ive been hyperfixated on developing the fantasy world that me and my bf use for our ocs that don’t fit anywhere else, and i thought it would be fun to work on developing it by seeing how other people’s ocs would fit in it!
if you could throw any of the characters who are in the world a fav it would be appreciated!
technically you can send in any oc, just be aware that exulas is primarily a humanoid world so non-humanoids will have a limited answer ^^;
the world page is here, but it is Very bare bones atm since most of the lore is in our heads and in the Process of being put down TAT its mostly good for the map lmao

despite the phoenix, who is the ‘fire god’ of exulas, living in anslas, i think that peregrine specifically would fit more as being an avian with a large amount of fire magic in ilaphis, which is a country based on floating islands! there’s a lot of very strong natural magic there, and the magical gems that cover ilaphis are a remnant of one of the creator gods’ tears (the sky god, nékielrighe) so i think having an excessive amount of fire power from that instead of a connection to the phoenix would be the most smooth way to fit him into the setting (since he,,, probably wouldn’t be able to live in the majority of anslas since its 90% volcano TAT)
fantasia is much more difficult because there’s not a vast amount of godlike beings like her around on exulas, but i think being a variant of an air elemental on yraitol would be the most fitting! yraitol is the closest to a ‘standard’ fantasy setting, so youve got like. humans elves and orcs type thing, and yraitol is still reeling from getting rid of the earth king, a giant who set his status as divinely appointed- so none of the people in yraitol liked physical gods after that, and so in modern times dont really understand being of a transcendental nature as much. i think it would be fitting for fantasia to be in yraitol above other countries on exulas to keep up that like,, air of magic and mystery more than she would have in the other countries where its more the norm. as for why she’s an air elemental,,,, vibes TAT she could also fit with being a type of kitsune, but air elementals have a more floaty and incorporeal nature that feels easier to translate dreams into

mephistopheles tieflings are closest to the furred tiefling variety that exulas has (that,,, doesn’t have a name yet. orz asmodeus tieflings are closest to drakes though so they’ll probably end up based around a mythical creature too) and it feels fitting that she would be a gargoyle! gargoyles are one of the main ‘living’ creations of nékielrighe, and bhaal feels the Closest to them out of all the gods gkdhdkdh. they are Not happy with living creatures existing in their world and have been trying to send down extinction events to get rid of everyone for a While, but the gods of fate keep messing it up lmao. could pend to durge stuff fairly easily i think. gargoyles can be based around any original species, but they’re made of stone and natural gargoyles sustain themself off of the natural magic of the world rather than eating.
aesthetically its pretty different to the bg3 look she has, but in terms of lore those are probably the closest equivalents exulas would have!
oh i love this guy. i think he’d fit staying as a half dragon, dragons are a very rare species in modern exulas (a lot of them got blown up when the anslas volcano became a thing smh) so its fitting that there is probably some experimentation to do gene splicing with other species to make more. he’s probably stationed mostly around the shallows, since erysea does a lot of the technology and science stuff and the shallows has the biggest cross-country research facilities in exulas, it feels fitting that they’re doing the work on it lmao, plus being a massive melting pot for every country its one of the areas that various governments would want to keep an eye on more, so of course there would have to be an agent there 😌

wally is absolutely a drake-passing dragon first off, drakes are pretty much dragons that evolved to have no wings and be a bit more fire resistant, so he’d fit right in in anslas, even if having no wings means he has to use the lifts to go up and down the volcano walls which is a bit tedious lmao
lain is absolutely an ex-noble high elf that didn’t side with the revolution in yraitol. since the previous earth king of yraitol was killed in the revolution it fully stacks that she would have had to go on the run if she was a member of the court that didn’t openly side with the revolution whilst it was building, and since 90% of the current high elf ‘nobility’ still remember the revolution like it was yesterday she probably would still be on the run (the high elf nobles are petty anyway if she was an ex court mage she would have a lot of social outcasting from them so being on the run is literally better im ngl)
he probably works best as a medium in the context of exulas! there’s not really a singular god of death as the gods of fate make sure you get where you’re going lmao, but having corvidae be a person who can speak to spirits and trace the lines of fate could be a really cool way to do it instead, since usually those are,,, invisible. for obvious reasons gkdhdndh as a human, he’s probably going to be in yraitol, so there is a lot of emphasis places on individual spirituality over godly worship, so his position being able to interact with the dead would probably be thought of very well by people too :D
im ngl in exulas an espeon would probably just be seen as a weird dog lmaoo especially since shiny espeon is so neon people would be like ‘is your dog radioactive’
whilst there are magical creatures around exulas that have psychic powers, the shade of green makes me think of one of the creatures parasitised by andarisite, which would make them green crystalline rock. they originally would have probably been a nekomata in the mountains to the south of yraitol, near the valcord glacier, which is a place with very strong magic and divine connections to give them that mew-ish link too ^^
