Theo was 28 and a radiology resident at a small hospital when she died. She had severe gender dysphoria, and had long suffered from feelings of depression and anxiety from it. During a particularly dark time in her life (exacerbated by the recent death of her grandmother, who she was very close to) she went camping in the mountains alone and unwisely decided to get blackout drunk. She lost her footing in the dark and stumbled off a ledge, her body dashed against the rocks. Drifting in and out of consciousness, she could feel her phone in her pocket, but never reached for it.
The next day, Theo woke up in her tent safely wrapped in her bedroll. She remembered falling off the cliff, but thought it was merely an alcohol-induced hallucination: never realizing she'd actually died, Theo went back to her job, finished her residency, and was hired by the same hospital as a consultant radiologist within the year. While friendly with her coworkers, she was hesitant to make romantic relationships or be physically intimate with anyone, and was often lonely living alone in her large house - until one day she met Ginny and Noemi, two members of what they called the FMNetwork.
