Sakura Jade

Sakura Jade is a popular Contest Star who's famous around Mist Continent for his talent. He's Marlow's rival. He's earned his popularity through ribbons and endless training, but he's definitely let it get to his head. He's egotistical, smug, sassy, and can be quite shallow, starting arguments over more ridiculous events. He's also very boisterous, and tends to get lost in that, being ignorant to people's emotions. Due to this, despite having a ton of fans, their only close friends are Felicity and Alli, though he's also extremely close to his mothers and spends plenty of time on their rivalry with Marlow. With those he cares about, he still loves being the center of their lives, but he does genuinely treasure them, even Marlow to an extent. Though generally he likes to travel around to join contests in different towns, they spend a good amount of time in Serenade Falls to stay close to family.

Growing up, Sakura was a very sickly child due to being a Shiny Pokemon. Often, he was bedridden and couldn't interact with other Pokemon or leave home often unless there were protective measures taken each time. Due to this, Maya and Cheri overindulged their child and gave Sakura whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted it. This, along with their eventual career, ultimately resulted in their spoiled attitude in the present, which both of them regret as it causes trouble, and has left Sakura rather naive and lonely in his fame. But regardless, Sakura adores his mothers and they're basically the only Pokemon Sakura will actually self sacrifice for, since they were basically his best friends growing up. He does tend to be overbearing though, case in point the Marlow incident.

Sakura's passion for contests came from those days he would be sick in his nest, where Maya would put on pre recorded contest shows for him. He was always dazzled by the performers and desired to be as handsome and adored as the Pokemon onstage. When he felt good enough, they would practice and practice in their home, imagining themself in a contest battle onstage. Once he found himself more physically stable and was eligible for contests, he dove right in. There were doubts about his success, due to Scyther being more popular and adept for battling and exploring, and more physically "cute" Pokemon being more popular in contests. But Sakura, stubborn as he is, refused to give up. His successes, trophies, and shiny coating all eventually caught on and made him a familiar face to all of Mist Continent. 

However, deep down, he had another reason for wanting to become famous... but he'd never admit it.

-Sakura Jade started as more of a stage name, but eventually morphed into being their entire name. Because his life IS the stage, baby! (falls over a table) Sakura is used as a nickname, but originally their name was just Jade, and he insists on the full name in public.

-Sakura is mostly stable as an adult, but he's immunocompromised due to being shiny. He has better medicine than he did as a child, so it's not as huge of a problem, but Sakura understandably likes to avoid those situations when he can- they hate being bedridden. They also don't like to talk about their sickness, so Alli and Felicity as well as the general public is unaware of it.

-Sakura is both aware and unaware of Alli's massive crush on him? It's kind of a "well obviously EVERYONE loves me ; )" situation but like he doesn't realize Alli is like "in over her head, wants to marry him" crushing. So sometimes their friendship can be odd.

-He's supposed to have the vibes of those overplayed snotty mean girls in kids cartoons that you're meant to hate but they're hilarious, but like he's 40 and has slightly more seriousness and heart to him. Also definitely has some Harley influence.

-Sakura hates getting his scythes dirty. When he sharpens them, he also makes sure to soak them so hard they sparkle. 

-Typically he wears material on his scythes to keep him from accidentally cutting anyone in public, but during performances they're usually off.

-While he has a massive rivalry with Marlow, Sakura actually adores Valerie. He finds that kid adorable, and in fact they love to show off their ribbons to her, or bring her souvenirs from other places he's traveled to. Valerie, being Valerie, eats it all up basically, and naively believes that Sakura and Marlow just have a more snippy relationship. Sakura may or may not use all of this as a weapon in the rivalry.

-Speaking of Sakura playing dirty, he basically approached Felicity and Alli at first because they're estranged with Marlow. Yeah. Overtime though they did bloom a more genuine friendship with one another, though Felicity finds Sakura to be a little too much for her. Alli, of course, is absolutely smitten, not that Sakura is fully aware of that.

-He wants to evolve into a Scizor, but can't get his scythes on a metal coat. He's currently trying to get Felicity and Alli's team to find one, after Cheri refused to.
