Marlow

Marlow is a contest performer that resides in Serenade Falls with his younger sister, Valerie, who he is the caretaker of. He's a very nice and confident Pokemon who is dedicated to both his craft and the people he loves. However, he's got the tendency to overthink and jump to conclusions, and once he's made a decision it's very hard to convince him otherwise. On the stage, he goes all out and adores the love he gets from the crowd. 

He used to be part of Wigglytuff's guild in Treasure Town with Felicity and Aisling. The three of them were very close-knit. Marlow and Aisling were childhood friends who were not only raised together, but overcame a traumatic event together. When Felicity arrived, he was skeptical of her background, but sympathized with the tragic way her life began and how she became separated from her family. He and Aisling helped her get on her feet and became very close. He and Felicity even fell in love and planned on having children once they were all graduated and stable. 

However, tragedy struck one night, and Marlow's mother was unable to raise her new egg. Marlow immediately resigned from the guild and stepped up to hatch and raise his new sister, as no one else was willing or able to. His teammates, albeit upset, respected his decision. He moved to Serenade Falls, with his ex teammates following once they had graduated.

Originally, their plan was actually to raise Valerie together, with Felicity serving as a mother figure even. This plan went smoothly for about a year, until Felicity and Marlow had a falling out over an argument. Felicity broke off their relationship, and Marlow forbid her and Aisling from being in his sister's life. All three were devastated over this turn of events, and Marlow himself was actually hit hardest, finding himself alone. He was too stubborn to fix things, however, and persisted with raising Valerie by himself. 

He found a new living for himself in the world of contests. He found it fun and engaging to perform for other Pokemon, and made a small name for himself within Serenade. When Valerie was older and expressed interest in contests herself, he allowed her to help out as an assistant to him. At the Solstice Festivals, Marlow and Valerie usually serve as the main act. This attracted a rival, however- Sakura Jade, one of the biggest contest stars on Mist Continent. Sakura Jade had decided to participate in a small contest on Serenade on a visit for his family, and had somehow tied with Marlow- bewildering and angering the Scyther, who demanded more face offs against the Brionne, tying each time. Marlow, frustrated with his attitude, welcomed the rivalry. The two of them are actually on relatively equal footing, and Pokemon have actually requested a collab, which the two loudly reject. It's a very petty rivalry. Sakura always makes sure to point out that Marlow only has fame in Serenade Falls, however, and finds it weak that Marlow won't go beyond the outskirts.

He truly cares about his sister, having raised her from hatching, and wants the best for her. He loves her attitude and thinks she grew into a wonderful Pokemon. However, he is extremely paranoid over her safety due to her condition, to the point that he hasn't let her leave Serenade Falls, and hasn't left himself because he doesn't want to leave her alone. This has isolated her, but he truly believes that keeping her within the safety of Serenade is the best for her. 

-He and Valerie are half-siblings, though the distinction doesn't really matter to them. Their relationship is more of a father/daughter one due to their age gap anyways, though Marlow is insistent that she refer to him by name and not "dad" for his own comfort. When she was younger, she called him "Mar-Mar".

-He has mixed feelings on Felicity and Alli in the present. He's stubborn, so he does not say anything, but he does regret their last argument and miss what he had with Felicity especially, and does get the urge to try and reconcile. But his stubbornness usually rules out.

-He's part Servine! His dress is more pointed to resemble ivy leaves, with the first frill curling around his chest, he's more teal for a Brionne, and the most prominent trait he got from this is a snake tongue. Why not. When he's angry or stressed, he draws out his "s"'s. Notably, he constantly pronounces Sakura as "Sss-akura!" Actually he has a lot of snake behaviors that surprise a lot of his peers.
