Personality

+ Honestly, he’s just constantly in a cheerful mood but like, a really artificial one if you get what I mean? It’s happy or not happy, 1 or 0. High key hyper too as if he’s been eating batteries for his entire life (which, cough, he may as well have). But when asked why is he always so hyper he’ll just end up being really confused at the question (wow yea the program crashed) One of the side effects of once being a non living thing / recently converted. 

- Only gets serious / actually knows what’s going on when he‘s not on hyper mode, honestly it’s kinda like his real personality \\ ;; Always has a slight hint of sorrow in his voice, as he’s constantly mourning the loss of his friend, which makes him sound like someone who has seen great civilisations fall and rise (woww finally he gets more reaper vibes!) but honestly he’s not that wise hhh if he sounds smart it’s probably cause he searched google for the correct answer  

However, he still gets  confused / doesn’t know what to do easily or needs a lot of time to progress info cause... either that place has no wifi for him to go onto google or that the internet connection is really slow in that area hhhh 

Doesn’t know the meaning of jokes / IQ questions in either mode cause error 

so yea it’s just...either hyper or lowkey sad

Notes

Please read through these as some of them r rlly important to the design!!

• The neck ring is made of a cloth like substance thts unique to Birdfolk! But with the help of transformation magic, she can inflate and deflate it like an air sac whenever she wants to!
• She can fly for very short periods of time (but itll tire her out alot) after a takeoff, but she rarely does it and prefers to glide instead.
• When frightened, she tends to flap her fin-like wings while jumping backwards (kinda like a bird)
• She can swim very well and her speed in water is almost twice of her speed on land (which is decent due to her small size)
• She tends to leap and glide across rooftops when travelling during night (yes her agility is amazing). To her, the sky and sea is alot safer than land
• The spear that she loves with her whole soul is given to her by the person who had brought her up and taught her many skills. The spear tip is literally a tooth of a large underwater monster who is extremely powerful and mysterious. The tooth was a treasured object in his family and they kept it with pride, but the person still bound it to a weapon and gave it to her as a gift. Yes it's enchanted ofc.
• Even tho shes omnivorous, her canines (in humanoid form) r especially pointy and sharp 
• The reason that her general design / special abilities are somewhat different from a typical Birdfolk's is because Aukai spent most of her life in this world and thus has adapted to it (special adaptations)

Powers

Natural Powers

•  Transformation; she had 3 different full transformation forms! She can hold this transformation for up to an hour or so, then she will be forced to return to her natural form, or else her mana core will be in a huge risk of getting corrupted.
• These 3 forms are: A humanoid form, a draconic form, and her own, original, Birdfolk form. The draconic form is mainly used for fighting due to its amazing attack power, but it can also be used for better transport (flight). The humanoid form is mainly used to blend into the society and pass through unnoticed, as well as communication.
• Small Transformations; she can manifest ant kind of small transformations! For example, longer claws, gills, night / underwater vision, blood sensing abilities, etc. But the ones above are those that she uses the most and thus will be the easiest for her to manifest. In order to manifest other ones, she must learn it first by seeing a real version of that transformation. For example, to manifest a chameleon's tail, she would need to see a creature with that first in order to use the trait ONCE. If she were to use it multiple times like her usual small transformations, she would need to learn it throughoutly for at least a month.
• Magic; she can technically cast all sorts of magic other than transformation, but it'll heavily damage her mana core and cause corruption within it. However, if she were to use magic when she's not in her Birdfolk form, it'll do a lot less damage and will instead just damage the core by a little (Kinda like a small but sharp, stabbing pain).

Lore

From the moment he was bought by the young mortal, he already recognized his existence but due to being a non living thing, he was unable to interact nor hear him

As time passed, he noticed that the young mortal always came to him, more than the other two mortals did. In his 'eyes', the mortal's soul was a bright shade of sunshine orange (yes souls have colours) while the other two were shades of gloomy blue

This is the beginning of his story, the day where his barrier was broken by a mere 0.1%- enough to distinguish a soul from another

His curiousity and friendship towards the young mortal grew and grew, and slowly he began to have the desire to interact with the mortal, to ask him why he always came to him, whether he was a friend or foe

Until one day

When he attempted to talk to the mortal for the ~1000th time

He realised that his voice sounded clearer than before

And then suddenly, from the dark, there came a young voice, saying "Heya friend! Im back from school! Miss me?"

His barrier was finally lowered by 1%

He, being a 'non living thing', finally became more 'alive'

From that day on, he started hearing the boy speak to him everyday

He told him stories that spoke of a wonderful place called 'school' where one learned and played

He taught him about 'friendship' and 'kindness', how the teacher used to tell them about that everyday when he was in 'kindergarden' but, he also told him about something called 'sickness' and how he was constantly suffering from one, no matter how much the 'doctors' ("those who healed people!", The boy had said) tried to save him, they couldnt. But he said that he was ok and that he should not be worried! He said that someday, he will be free from this 'sickness' and he will become a famous gamer, with him standing by his side as his favourite 'console'(edited)

And he enjoyed it

But then

Suddenly, on this one day

The boy stopped talking to him

his voice was absent

for a long time

this made him very worried and he wanted to know what was hapoening, whether his friend was safe or not, and did he need his help

He called out to the boy's parents (as the boy had referred to them as that), but they didnt listen

None of them listened

because

they couldnt.

he could hear the knocking on the door everyday

but no one bothered to answer

the family was shadowed by grief

He became very worried

And one day

He heard a crash and felt that his surroundings changed

suddenly, there were alot of other 'non living' souls beside him

(in reality they dumped him into the attic)

from then on he couldnt hear any more voice because there wasnt anyone to talk to him

he couldnt bear the silence

So one day

He tried calling out to the sky instead

and surpsingly

there wa an answer

A god has answered his call

the god asked him of his problem, and in return, he answered truthfully

they immediately knew what had happened and took pity in him

so, they agreed to help him fulfil one wish

one single wish

He, of course

Decided to pray to the god, and ask for a chance for the boy to be saved and returned to the house he was in.

he said that this would make his 'parents' alot happier

He said that everything would be fixed

..

His wish was to see the boy again, safe and happy

but then

the god was unable to revive the dead

for that would break the laws of nature

so instead, they broke his barrier, enough to let him become a 'living thing'

and gave him a new body and name

'Nekoro'

for his wish

they gave Nekoro the ability to go between the spirit and real world

In order to see the boy

But in return

The god asked for a favor

they asked Nekoro to work for them, to guide souls to the spirit world as a reaper of the dead

and of course

he would do anything for the boy
