Elliot is kind hearted and approachable. He loves getting to know people despite thinking he’s a bit awkward. Elliot owns a small print shop that specializes in offset and risograph printing. His shop offers custom print jobs that range anywhere from simple business cards to event invitations to band posters. Elliot loves printing regardless of the subject matter but his favorite projects are books or ambitious art objects.
Outside of work, Elliot indulges in many hobbies. Elliot loves art and telling stories. When he has the chance, he dedicates some studio time to bringing his own projects to life. He loves music. While he’s good at singing, he seems to struggle with his chosen instrument (guitar). It doesn’t stop him from practicing when he can. Elliot’s family and friends are also very important to him. He values all the quality time he can get and is always trying to think of fun activities and day trips he can do with them. Elliot spends the rest of his free time at home, binge watching TV shows and jokingly critiquing them with his friends.
Although he makes a living off of helping other people’s projects and stories come to life, Elliot also spends a lot of time creating his own. While in college, he realized that he enjoyed the process of making a physical vehicle for stories almost as much as he enjoyed telling them. From that point on, he began focusing more on the construction part and less on just his own stories. For Elliot, that was the best solution as he no longer felt like he had to live solely off of his artwork. He sells some of the books and other prints he makes for himself online.
personality;
Elliot is amiable and always seems to have a friendly acquaintance somewhere. He can hold a conversation well and genuinely enjoys meeting and conversing with many different types of people. His kindness and welcoming aura helps put others at ease and make him an easy person to get along with. Elliot also has a kind heart and tends to wear his heart on his sleeve. He actively tries to remember small things that are important to his friends and family and makes an effort to show his appreciation for them no matter how big or small the gesture is or how busy he is. Although he supports his loved ones, he does take care not to blindly follow and offers support even if it means having to break a hard truth.
Elliot spends a lot of time thinking. He thinks about trivial things, things as serious as life and death, everything and anything. Oftentimes, Elliot gets too wound up in his own thoughts and can't seem to come to any kind of conclusion. It’s then when he turns to storytelling to process his thoughts properly.
Despite his seemingly charismatic demeanor, Elliot does have a little bit of an awkward streak. He’s bad with phone calls and often has to write out exactly what he wants to say before a call. When he first meets someone, Elliot sometimes finds it difficult to find his footing and can get swept up in the moment.
Elliot isn’t afraid of confrontation, but dislikes the inevitable awkward air that would fill the room. Growing up, he had grown accustomed to mediating and has since always strived towards preventing fights between his friends and family.

trivia;
His friends and family call him “Eli”.
Elliot currently lives in an apartment with a loft close to the downtown area. He takes great care in keeping it clean.
Elliot enjoys trying out different types of coffees and teas. He is a frequent customer of the coffee and tea shops that offer imported beans and interesting tea leaves. Elliot has a stash in the studio and always offers his clients a cup when they come in for a consultation.
Elliot likes piercings but doesn’t like pain. It took all his courage to get his ears pierced and he made his friends, Regan and Itsuki go with him for moral support.
Having spent a lot of time in the studio, Elliot is actually quite strong. He isn’t exactly muscular but he isn’t a noodle-armed artist as some might like to think. Elliot does have some mild back problems from hunching over during work, though.
Elliot really likes music. His favorite genre is rock but he’s always open to stepping outside of that box. At some point during his high school days, he picked up guitar. While he has a particularly good singing voice, Elliot seems to struggle with playing guitar. He has made improvements since then but refuses to play in front of anyone due to his embarrassment.
His voice claim is Ito Kashitaro (伊東歌詞太郎).
story;
Childhood
Elliot regards his childhood as average, but happy. He grew up with his parents and was surrounded by love. To say he was spoiled would be an understatement. Elliot’s parents weren’t wealthy, but that didn’t stop them from doting on him and spoiling him rotten when they had the chance. He and his parents went on trips together and tried to make holidays and birthdays special events. At one point, he couldn’t think about this time without feeling angry and confused but now, he looks back on these memories fondly.
Elliot’s love for art and storytelling was apparent even at such a young age. His parents took turns telling him bedtime stories and Elliot even started illustrating his own. Of course, they were simple and filled with childlike dreams but he loved it.
When Elliot was in middle school, his parents got divorced. At first, Elliot opposed the idea. He couldn’t understand why it was happening and was afraid of the changes it would bring. While he didn’t exactly voice his opinion, his discomfort with the situation was clear to his parents. They tried to still spend time together as a family in the beginning, but it usually ended with everyone feeling off and somewhat uncomfortable. Elliot tried to mediate but at some point, he had to accept that his parents had problems that he could not fix.
Teen Years
Elliot spent his middle school days stewing alone in his anger. When he went to high school, he began to cool off. He still kept mostly to himself but spent a lot of time thinking and writing stories. He wrote to escape, to think about the what ifs, to process emotions that were too big for his young self to fully understand. During this time, Elliot became very close with his philosophy teacher. Elliot wasn’t a trouble maker, but he did find himself seeking refuge in her office. She was a young, intelligent woman with a sharp mind but was gentle and patient with him. She listened to Elliot work through his thoughts and upon occasion, would offer advice. Needless to say, Elliot did exceptionally well in his philosophy class.
Aside from philosophy, Elliot had continued to pursue art. It had always been his way of sorting through his feelings about the events of his life and was particularly helpful during this time. Many of his stories were deeply personal but thoughtful. Almost like he was analyzing an event that had happened ages ago. His art teachers loved him and encouraged him to keep going. It was in his sophomore year of high school when Elliot decided to pursue some form of visual storytelling as a career.
By the time Elliot had reached his late teens, he had realized that his parents’ decision was for the best. He noticed that after the initial shock and heartache, his parents began to heal. They were much happier and with time, he realized that he would heal too.
College
College was a really special time for Elliot. He was ready to leave his awkward years behind and dive into this next part of his life at full force. It took some time for him to find his footing, but he finally started feeling like he had found a direction he could go in.
During the first semester of his freshman year, it was recommended to Elliot to take an offset productions class. He originally attended school intending to become a comic book artist and illustrator but quickly found that he loved the printing and construction process just as much; if not even more.
When Elliot started his second year, he asked the print technician if he could become an apprentice. It was during that time where Elliot really began to gain confidence. It was definitely a learning experience and some days were better than others, but by the end of his second year, Elliot felt like he had found his path.
In his third year, Elliot got an internship at a commercial printing company. He started out doing menial tasks like preparing printing plates and buying coffee but soon, he was able to help out some of the more experienced printers with their work. He soon got into the groove of things. It was nerve wracking for him at first, but Elliot persevered. He was determined to make this work and knew that this was just the first step on a long journey. Elliot took this time as a rookie to learn everything he possibly could about the craft that he loved.
Elliot continued working with this printing company well after his internship had finished. They were low on experienced printers and had already thoroughly trained Elliot so they offered him a position despite Elliot having a limited schedule due to being in his senior year. By then, he had built up a reputation and was well liked by his coworkers. Elliot was even helping some of the new interns ease into the job. As his time at school came to an end, Elliot felt as though he had truly become the person he wanted to become. Albeit still a little awkward at times, Elliot finally felt prepared for the next stage in his life.
Present Day
Recently, a small retail space opened up for rent in the popular shopping district Elliot often passed through. He was working as one of the printers at a more commercial printing company but missed the days of making artist books and taking on odd projects. Albeit a little impulsive, Elliot decided to rent the space out and start his own printing shop.
At first, business was a little slow and Elliot began to wonder if this was truly the right step for him. Elliot did not want to just give up when things started looking bleak and began to network and really try to put his work out there. After some time, Elliot found that he has gained a few regulars who all sing him praises and send new customers his way when they can.
skills;
Printing
A skill that Elliot worked hard to perfect during his time at art school. Even after all this time, he is amazed with how projects can end up looking.
Singing
Elliot is quite good at singing. He gets shy about it and tends to avoid doing it with people around. Sometimes he sings while he works.
Storytelling
The reason Elliot went to art school was to tell stories. He enjoyed writing and drawing comics, animation, and film. At times, he feels like storytelling is the most effective way for him to process his feelings.
Drawing
The reason Elliot even considered enrolling in art school was because of his love for drawing illustrations. He branched out to other methods of art making but feels that illustration was the beginning of it all.
relationships;
Nikolai (love interest)
Elliot first met Nikolai during a New Year’s party hosted by one of their mutual friends. Elliot found himself talking casually with a handsome stranger after escaping the overwhelming atmosphere on the balcony. That stranger was Nikolai. Someone Elliot mused he would have never met if not for this one particular moment. They rang in the New Year together after losing track of the time and watched the fireworks. Soon, they were ushered back inside to celebrate properly with company and were back with their respective friend groups. Elliot was a little disappointed they didn’t have more time to talk, but tried not to make it obvious. As the party began to wind down, Nikolai approached Elliot again and asked to meet again. Elliot was flustered–he was delighted his new friend wanted to spend more time together. They exchanged contact information and Nikolai left. Elliot was then teased for the rest of the night by his two friends.
Florian (friend)
WIP!!!
Regan (friend)
They first met in the spring semester of their second year. Regan was taking an offset productions class for the first time and Elliot was more experienced than the TA. Having picked up on that, Regan began asking Elliot questions when he was stuck or couldn’t figure out what to do when the risograph printers decided not to work. Elliot’s first impression of Regan was that he was a little intimidating but he was a hard worker and he respected Regan’s work ethic. During a free studio day while Elliot was working on one of his own projects, he noticed Regan struggling more than usual. He offered Regan his help and they worked it out together. From that day on, Regan began inviting Elliot to spend lunch together or go to art galleries. They’ve stayed close throughout the years and see each other frequently. Regan is also a regular customer of Elliot’s printing services.
Itsuki (friend)
Elliot met Itsuki during midterm week. He and Regan were collaborating on their midterm project and were spending a lot of time together so it was only natural that Elliot would meet Regan’s roommate and close friend. At first, Elliot felt like Itsuki’s cool and aloof air made him difficult to talk to but the moment Itsuki met Elliot, he started joking around with him. After spending some time together, they discovered they had similar music interests. While they never had the chance to take a class together, Elliot helped print one of Itsuki’s final projects for him. They still meet up frequently and are each other’s go to person to invite when going to a concert.
Val (friend)
Val is one of Elliot’s earliest customers. A week into opening up shop, Val wandered in solely out of curiosity. He had no idea what offset or risograph printing even was and listened intently as Elliot explained it to him. A couple days later, Val came back wanting Elliot to do a small print job for some materials for an event Val was hosting at his flower shop. He invited Elliot to come along when the job was done and since then, they have kept in contact. Val will stop by from time to time around lunch to have a chat and a quick bite to each. Elliot quite likes Val and finds him charming. Every time Val visits, he brings Elliot a new foraged bundle of tea leaves and Elliot makes him a coffee.
Sena (acquaintance)
Sena is another one of Elliot’s earliest customers. Regan was actually the one to approach Elliot to take on Sena’s portfolio job with him. Elliot agreed and was frankly quite excited about the job. Regan was quite forceful at the time so Elliot made sure to let Sena know that he didn’t have to go through with every plan Regan thought up. At some point, Sena decided to go through with it and expressed his excitement for the finished product. Truthfully, Elliot did not get as much time as he would’ve liked to talk about Sena’s project but Elliot enjoyed chatting with him during their brief meetings. Every once in a while, Elliot will run into Sena in the downtown area getting a coffee or at a thrift store. Sometimes they just say hello and move on with their day but sometimes Elliot or Sena will invite the other to shop or enjoy their drinks together. They aren’t exactly close, but Elliot enjoys Sena’s company nonetheless.
