Kalinn is kind, compassionate, and has always held a deep respect for all life. Avoidant, perhaps too avoidant, he struggles to initiate conflict and keeps far away from business that isn't his own.
He's been able to get by and stay in people's good graces...but in his line of work, he may soon need to learn to stand up to wrongdoers, especially those that threaten his life, and his friends'.
He likes his solitude, and it's easy to be alone in the far southern reaches of Anikora, meeting not a soul on most days. He loves to sing, and seems to sing best when no one's watching. Audiences frazzle him a little. Except when that audience is of the cetacean kind. In fact, he seems to bond far more easily to the creatures than to his fellow human beings.
Kalinn was born in Niro, and there he felt a calling to become a priest of the god of the south pole.
As part of his initiation, he learned to sing to communicate with whales, and soon decided he would devote his life entirely to helping them.
He soon moved to the southernmost tip of Anikora, where whales can be seen all year. Now, working as a ship guide, he uses his skills to safely navigate ships through their waters.
Eventually the main characters will need his help for Magical Reasons...
