Profile

Borealis is a large lizardlike creature, about the size of a black bear. Capable of traveling through walls, Borealis's body is only quasicorporeal, and they don't seem to have any internal organs, with scans of their body returning what seems to simply be an empty pocket of space. They eat primarily minerals, with gemstones being a particular favorite, and it's not uncommon to see them carrying a crystal around in their mouth like a dog would carry a bone.

The rainbow, glowing pattern on either side of their body will slowly cycle through colors in a pulsing pattern under normal circumstances, but they can cause it to flicker and flash much more quickly to startle or disorient potential threats. There isn't exactly much that would attempt to harm a giant, glowing space iguana, but Borealis is very skittish and worrisome and tends to interpret anything new and moving in their environment as a threat. In especially stressful situations, they will extend their vividly rainbow, swirling dewlap and screech like a leopard gecko.

They are very intelligent, on around the same level as a corvid, and can use tools pretty adequately.
