Actuarial sciences is a pretty niche thing, so I don't blame ya. A lot of it revolves around crunching numbers and making sure that, if something goes wrong, you make sure that you can properly calculate the costs of everything that results from it. Having a good professor or two while in university helps a lot with learning the concepts of how that stuff generally works, but they can be hard to come by.
actuary, huh? I'm afraid financial analysis like that is a little bit outside of my purview. I know a thing or two about, say... failure analysis? you have to have an idea of what could go wrong during any sort of experiment, after all. but putting a number to it has never been my expertise—it always seems much higher than what I'd expect. though, with some of this equipment, suppose that isn't too strange...
Eh, honestly it's just a lot of math. Might just be me, but It's a lot easier once you get used to it. It probably helps that I use a lot of software to help with that. Learning to execute code and run spreadsheets streamlines the process a lot. I'd take a guess that it's not too different when it comes to programming and software development, isn't it?
To be quite frank, Naruki, I'm not too familiar with the ins and outs of business financing. All I got to worry about is putting food on my baby's plate and keeping the roof over our heads, you know? I can't imagine having the financial wellness of an entire business in your hands. You've got a good head on your shoulders, don't you?
I'd say I'm more of a keyboard typer and spreadsheet maker myself. Thankfully, I'm not the type to sit at a desk all day for work. Can't really practice your own hobbies if you're stuck working all day. Thankfully, I work by the task rather than by the hour. I won't complain about working with others though, but you might find that my workflow isn't exactly the easiest for others to work with.
Oh, a pencil pusher, are you? Or, a calculator button pusher? You look way too fun to be sitting at a desk all day, but I guess *I* would say the same thing about myself too, huh? Hah! We could work well together, but I'm a freelance gal myself — chaining myself down would just be a disservice to my sharp wits!
I admire the fit. It's hard to find accessories like those where I live, but I can see that it suits that whole web aesthetic. Say, you also work in tech, if I'm not wrong? How's it like being in web design, asking as someone who mostly just works on the software and math side of things.
Ahah, cheers, it t-takes a lot of wwork to curate this look :-) Wweb design is interess-ting, there's so much involved in it, I fffeell like I'm doing a dozen jobs at, at once. You have t-to know a little bit of everything. Your job, though, it's highly specialllised and, wwell... maths isn't really mmy thing, so I th-think it's impressive.
Hmm... I've never heard someone describe working with economics as *that* until now, but I guess ya find out something new every day. I personally wouldn't describe it like that though. Is it boring? Yeah, absolutely, but you *miiiight* be taking it a little extreme there, pal. At the very least, the pay's fine enough for me to stomach the hours.
hello. your job sounds very boring. i think that my job is better! or perhaps you find some entertainment in what you do, but every time i imagine it i find myself in a state worse than death. once i had a dream about being in that place -- worse than death -- and the thought followed me into life, and i can never stop thinking about it. what would you do if you were given a life of torture and denied death? i think that would be worse than death but i would simply push through it. every time i vividly imagine that state of worse-than-death i am mentally preparing for the day it will come. you should, too!
