Raven Monroe's Links
At just the name of Fifer Gray, Raven bristles. He sees her as a regret and a disgrace. If asked, he won't hesitate to disclose just how severe his loathing for her is, though his disclosure may not be entirely truthful. Beneath the layers of a hateful facade, Raven safekeeps the memory of betraying Fifer, tirelessly harboring the guild of his misdeeds in his heart. No matter how he tries to convince himself to hate her, Raven will always consider Fifer a mentor, a role model, and a friend.
As the mentor and partial parent figure of a much younger Raven, Fifer still feels obligated to look out for his well being. Fifer, while not often openly concerned with his whereabouts and safety, often thinks about where Raven is and what he is doing, but never interferes with his life seeing as he is now an adult and can take care of himself.
Raven sees Albion as a friend of Fifer's and not much else. When he was younger, he was nervous around Albion, avoiding him as often as possible and hardly speaking to him unless absolutely necessary. Over time and with the help of a major mistake that he and Albion share in common, his fear of Albion has turned to disdain.
Despite the fact that Raven is an adult now, Albion still sees him as a troubled and troublesome kid. He tries his best to act professionally around Raven but always seems just slightly impatient with him. He secretly envies Raven because of the attention he receives from Fifer.
Any change in Ezri's demeanor, no matter how small, warrants change in Raven’s as well. Always looking to gain leverage, Raven will curb most defiance from Ezri with cruelty, and while Ezri has true potential to be a threat Raven often repurposes his fear of Ezri and expresses it as malice. While their relationship is largely comprised of strife, their similarly lustful natures keep Raven relationally tethered to Ezri. Additionally Raven does, on occasion, find himself enjoying Ezri's company, but he won't likely admit to it.
Ezri started out loathing Raven with every fibre of his being, and while that changes off and on, deep down he still doesn't like him very much. The main driving force of his relationship with Raven is the bizarre chemistry between them. Despite the hate, Ezri is very attracted to Raven physically, and never passes up on an opportunity to have a little "fun" with him. However, since they started sort of dating, Ezri's been enjoying Raven's presence more and more, burying the bird in sugary sweet affection.
Raven's relationship with Max is best defined by a cycle of desire, gratification, and guilt. With control as his motive, Raven will mock, belittle, and ridicule Max all while trying to convince her that the only thing providing her with purpose is himself. Raven does not often profess his disdain for his own cruelty, but the guilt he feels after being particularly brutal towards Max is overwhelming. With each wrongdoing comes resolve to change, but in the end his desire for control outweighs his desire for improvement.
Max's relationship with Raven is best described as devoted. Despite Raven's brutal treatment, her feelings never waver. She loves Raven completely, with every part of her. No matter what happens, even when it'd be so much safer for her to walk out on him and never come back, she could never really leave him. Max's devotion goes as far as her putting up with things she normally wouldn't for his sake, and looking out for his happiness over her own. However, deep down even she has to wonder if Raven truly loves her, or if he's just using her for his own gains. But those thoughts never stay long in her mind, she prefers to focus on whatever good times she can have with him.
Although Colton has never dealt with him in a violent or threatening manner, Raven still loathes Colton's presence and tries to avoid them as much as possible. Colton's primary concern for Max and secondary concern for Raven are seen as intrusive and meddlesome, and they only serve as a catalyst for guilt. Even worse is the fact that Colton has the resolve to tell Raven his behavior is unacceptable.
Raven is no friend of Colton's. He has proven himself time and time again to be cruel and destructive--attributes that Colton is not willing to embrace. Colton struggles to treat Raven with their customary impartiality, and though Colton is wary and distrusting of Raven they are willing to tolerate his company for Max's sake. If Raven ever becomes comfortable around them, they hope to have a heart-to-heart conversation with him about his behavior.
