Uhkrio

"We could even be friends!”

Uhkrio is a powerful fighter, but is usually seen as a chill and happy guy. He’s pretty fun to talk to if you can get him to actually have a proper conversation with you. He can be a nice person, it’s just not shown often outside of his rogue status since he doesn’t have any friends. He gets lonely at times from the lack of them. It seems like he‘s just taunting you when he does try to be nice. Uhkrio is also a bit cocky, and is shown especially in combat, but still manages to keep his cool and not let it affect his battle skills.

Uhkrio sometimes relies on getting through his opponent’s emotions and taunt them to catch them off guard when in battle. He often finds his targets by eavesdropping on other people who talk about recent or past battles they’ve heard or seen, though it’s mostly about rogues. This is also where he learns about ones past or regrets, to try and use this as a way to toy with their emotions when he finds and fights them. Uhkrio also likes to talk to his opponents since he has no one else to talk to, so often times his battles end up dragging for a while longer than it needs to be.

He genuinely believes he’s a good person and doing the world a favour by killing off the weak ones, and gives them quick and painless deaths. He thinks they can’t survive in a world like this- where rogues are becoming more and more common- if they’re so weak, and is putting them out of their misery. He doesn’t believe it’s ever possible to stop the number of rogues from growing, so the next best option is to end the weak ones‘ suffering, and let the strong ones take over. To him, it’s all about survival to be happy. Ironically, he is registered as a rogue himself, but he personally doesn’t consider himself one since he thinks he’s doing the right thing.

Usually people with more than 1 power are who he thinks are strong and have potential, unless they obviously don’t know how to control them, but Uhkrio is still a little more soft on those people and gives them more of a chance than others. By the time someone is 13, Uhkrio thinks they should be capable of more than just basic self defense; by 16-18, he thinks that person should be at least half as strong as him.

ABILITIES: 

Uhkrio has the ability to “lock” one of these 4 senses- sight, taste, smell, hearing- and be able to heavily enhance a different sense in exchange. Locking his sight would mean he won’t be able to see until he unlocks it, and the same goes for his other 3 senses. He can only lock and enhance 1 sense each at a time though. He mostly likes to lock his sense of sight and alternates between enhancing his hearing and smell. He prefers locking his sense of sight because he thinks he’s so strong he doesn’t need it, despite the fact that he can simply lock his taste since it’s not a major sense to need in combat. He also wears a blindfold to prove to people that he can’t see anything when fighting, as locking his senses doesn’t give him any physical changes to indicate that he’s activating his power.

Uhkrio was one of the strongest kids among people around his neighborhood back in IronForge City. He’s always been a fighter, and his pride only increased when he got his power at the age of 5. That is until his family noticed how different his morals were from most people over the coming years. Uhkrio started to feel bad for the weaker people and thinks they’re just going to suffer from the rogues in this world, and could use an easy way out of their miserable lives. They tried to lecture him gently, and convince him it’s not as negative as it seems, but Uhkrio turned it into an argument. He insisted what he thought was right, and ended up murdering them all in the process when he was 16. He felt no remorse to what he’s done, and, out of anger, felt it was necessary since ‘they were useless members of society and were just weaklings anyway’. Though he does believe they must be much happier now and is glad they don’t have to suffer from the real world anymore.

As he got older, Uhkrio moved to Quartz City and got a job as a hunter, coincidentally being recruited the same time as Quiro, one of his playground friends whom he hasn’t seen since he moved here. Uhkrio quickly rose up to be one of the best S-rankers in under a year, surpassing his idol Phyre, who’d only just recently made herself rise to S-rank herself. He ended up becoming number 1 hunter in his station, and one of the best in the city. Although he still believes Phyre should be seen as the best alongside him. Unfortunately his friend Quiro had to retire after getting his arm ripped off from a rogue. Despite thinking Quiro was pretty weak, he didn’t want to kill him since he was one of his few friends, and they knew each other for so long by now.

Uhkrio usually only captured rogues like the other hunters, but sometimes he gets the urge to kill the weaker ones instead. This never got him fired since they were just rogues, but he slowly got looked down upon on a lot, even from his own co-workers and other hunters. Even though Uhkrio only killed rogues, many people think it was still unnecessary of him to kill them. They think he should’ve just captured them since many of the rogues he killed were too weak to lay a scratch on even the lowest ranking hunters anyway, and could possibly even change.

Uhkrio had also been secretly releasing the rogues he was supposed to capture because he felt were strong and had potential. However, the station Uhkrio works at eventually found out what he’s been doing, and had enough, so they fired him. He’d only been a hunter for 2 years by this point- at 19. His station never captured him because he technically wasn’t a rogue at the time and no one knew of his true intentions or motives. People just thought he took his job as a hunter too seriously, but never knew his reasonings for releasing rogues. Uhkrio also visited and talked to Quiro for a while during these times, but slowly stopped as he got more busy. Eventually, Quiro moved away and Uhkrio just had no time to visit him anymore.

As time went on, Uhkrio continued to kill off the people he thought were weak. He started to get reported in just a few months after getting fired, and eventually other hunters tried to capture- and often times were even order to kill- him, but none of them were ever successful. Uhkrio simply killed the weak ones, and ran away from the strong ones.

One day at 25, he found out about Phyre’s death. It angered him because he really looked up to her, but also because he believed Cascade, her murderer, was weak, so it bothered him that a weak person like her could kill someone as strong as Phyre. During his attempted murder towards her, he found out about her second power, and felt as though there could be more to her than he thought, so he left her alive.

A week after that, he wanted to kill the weaker rogues in Killious Kingdom after hearing about the territory some time ago. His first attempt was unsuccessful due to its guards constantly protecting his targets- the weak ones. Uhkrio left, but returned later that day when he saw that Cascade and her friends, Kami and Ashe, seemed to be distracting the stronger rogues, and took the opportunity to kill the unguarded weak ones. Uhkrio was eventually able to wipe out over half the kingdom, and had the rest of the rogues he left alive scattered. Some time after those events, the last leader of Killious, Princess Vezcta, has slowly acted odd around in him. She was constantly excited whenever he’d come across her, and always showed big interest in what he says. Uhkrio only ever saw her as a friend at most, and never caught on about what her deal was.
