Chai is the owner of a small, cozy café in a quiet corner of town. As someone who doesn't enjoy (black, bitter) coffee, it seemed odd to most that she'd be the owner of an establishment mostly dedicated to coffee, but Chai is slowly working on finding the perfect flavor that she'll enjoy.
On an average day, Chai is lively, talkative, and focused- But can often seem clumsy, ditzy, perhaps sometimes even short-fused. The work she enjoys the most is the quiet mornings where only a few customers stop by to enjoy the first hours of the day, and her café is filled with a comfortable silence. On particularly slow days, she'll bring her sketchbook to work.

Chai grew up under strict parenthood in terms of staying out and what she got to do, but who were very supportive of her hobbies and interests, like art and baking. She'd spend most of her time drawing, playing games, and generally using her imagination for most things as money for expensive toys and trinkets never was something their family prioritized. She didn't mind though, she likes to think that this is where she got to evolve her creativity and keep her childlike dreaming view that she's kept into adulthood.
Throughout life, she always felt trapped within her birthplace, where she didn't click with too many others, and grew up with few friends. Through many years, she fell into a pit of trying so hard to fit in and keeping up with responsebilities that she lost sight of the hobbies she loved- Though she finally felt she got to expand her horizon and experience more as she grew into her later teens and early adulthood, when her parents finally had to accept that she'd have to move onto new things and new places in life.
They ended up moving around lots, meeting loads of new people, and eventually re-discovering her love for baking, and intrigued in the art of brewing cozy beverages, which led to the opening of their very own cafe, starting from humble and run-down beginnings. Many find the maximalistic cafe cozy, and enjoy the less polished but homely feel it offers.

Miette is a fellow canine friend and coffee-enjoyer. She is, in fact, the very first person who introduced Chai to her current favorite coffe: Whipped Coffee. Chai greatly appreciates her friend's ability to listen to all of Chai's rambling and excitement over everything and nothing, and pushing her to try new things. Her favorite workdays are the days Miette stops by to have a cup of coffee with her.

Ruby has been Chai's friend for many years, and she cant really see what her life would be like without them now. The two share many personality traits, and can sit together in complete silence, or both participate in silly banter! Regardless of what happens, Chai knows she can count on Ruby's support and more calm and level-headed demeanor and guidance when needed- And Ruby knows Chai will always be rushing to their aid when the need of emotional support or cheering up occurs.
