Ruriko Edmund
NICKNAME(S): Ruri, KikoBIRTHDATE: 06/12/2001HEIGHT: 5'2"
GENDER: FemaleORIGIN: Destroyed Dimension
WEIGHT:  120 lbs
PRONOUNS: She/Her
ALIGNMENT: Lawful Neutral
OCCUPATION: Swordsman Apprentice

PERSONALITY:

Ruriko is a quiet yet energetic person. She will silently people watch for fun, observing until something catches her eye. She will rush over for closer observation, though still staying silent in the face of the subject's confusion. You shouldn't talk to strangers after all. When she feels like someone is trustworthy enough, she gets attached to them very quickly and will cling to them whether they like it or not. She will often take things literally, and take them to the extreme if not explained very clearly. There are times where she'll do this on purpose to annoy people she doesn't like. She can be blunt, much in the way a child would be. Her care only extends to those she personally likes, and will plainly ignore others unless it's in the best interest of her and her friends.

HISTORY:

The earliest thing Ruriko could remember was a gentle voice trying to calm her down as lights were bright in her vision. Barely having any sense of where anything or anyone was, where she even was. Everything was a blur, and there's always a feeling of hurt whenever she would try to think so early in her life, so it remains untouched for now. What she can recall without the pain are a few times that she remembers being watched over by a humanoid bunny. It would sing her songs to lull her to sleep, it could play with her a few games where she didn't need to move too much... It would help her get around the room she was kept in while she was struggling to feel any of her own movements.

Things beyond that connecting to the next clearest memories are a blur once more, so Ruriko doesn't even bother remembering them. She knows of the time she figured out how to feel again, how to move more on her own, and how she started running. To where? Who knows, it felt like multiple times that she just wandered endlessly wherever she was, and she wanted to be free from it at last. When someone got in her way, she'd shove them aside as if they were merely dolls set in front of her. Who cared about how she finally got out, she broke free from her restraints and could do whatever now.

It didn't last long when Ruriko realized she didn't really know much of the world beyond what was apparently a building she was kept in for all of her life. It certainly didn't help when things felt like they were exploding all around her as well. More and more did she run, trying to find anywhere that could be safe. There was something that seemed... Weird among all the things she had ever witnessed before. With the lack of better judgment, she found herself rushing at the light to escape destruction, only to stumble right into a completely different area with no explosion in sight.

She'd later learn the place being Evergate, and she'd thank the one that had found her and brought her to safety. Zyle looked caring and capable, easily able to carry Ruriko unlike most she had seen before do. The lady most likely meant well when she left her with the medical care of the area, but there was something about the place that made Ruriko uncomfortable. Soon enough, the nurses were worried as she got right back out of the area and sought out her savior. One thing led to another, soon letting her reunite with Zyle who looked at her with confusion, but she couldn't help gleefully hugging the taller lady.

Ruriko had become Zyle's responsibility and Ruri was complacent with it. She helped fix herself up to the best that she could, finding a nifty mask to cover up the mess that was apparently her jaw, and even getting dressed in nicer clothes than just a plain white dress. Considering that she was supposedly from another world from Zyle, they were both stunned for a good while when they discovered her capacity for psychic powers. She simply saw some others around Evergate do such and attempted to do the same, only for it to surprisingly work. Zyle told her that she would look into it later, but for now, Ruriko had fun with her new powers. Playing with smaller objects in a simple telekinetic way was nice to practice and fun to look at.

She began learning how to use her powers on blades as she started seeing the usefulness of fighting using them. Found someone who could teach her whenever Zyle would let her wander around "safely", and had practically become their little apprentice. Fun times, yet serious as well when she was taught about what the Beacon company strived to do for the people here and all other worlds.

Beacon?

Ruriko patiently listened, not intervening once as they went on about the Beacon company and how proud they were of her to try and step up to help for a good cause.

Guess that was what she was going to do.

Ruriko brought it up to Zyle, they had a talk about plans, and she thought up of a wish to make after learning that those who'd join could make one. It was simple enough for a god, right? It should be.

Though the fantastical worlds she saw during those years were interesting for her, Ruriko felt a sense of weird nostalgia when learning of Mirstone and their world, requesting to Zyle that they should move there instead of always just staying in Evergate when they couldn't do much in Silutika. Zyle was given more time to think about it, and Ruriko was delighted when she started going through the paperwork for a move.

Maybe... Maybe she could already work on her wish before divine intervention has to do it for her here.

WISH: To have a safe, long-lasting home for once in her life

HOBBIES: Origami, kirigami

LIKES: Zyle, flowers, paper, blades

DISLIKES: Sterile white rooms, loneliness

EXTRA INFORMATION: Though she was made to be sturdy and strong, the impact from explosions while trying to escape her destroyed dimension caused weak spots on her body. Zyle had done her best to dress Ruriko up in a way that it would be hidden as if there was nothing obvious for others to take advantage of.

1. Protective Field (Type: Single Target | Dice: 1d6 - support)

When you or another creature you can see within 30 feet of you takes damage, you can use your reaction to roll 1d6, and reduce the damage taken by the number rolled plus your Intelligence modifier (minimum reduction of 1), as you create a momentary shield of telekinetic force.

2. Psionic Strike (Type: Single Target | Dice: 1d6 - ranged)

You can propel your weapons with psionic force. Once on each of your turns, immediately after you hit a target within 30 feet of you with an attack and deal damage to it with a weapon, you can roll 1d6 and deal force damage to the target equal to the number rolled plus your Intelligence modifier.

3. Second Wind (Type: Self | Dice: 1d8 - support)

You have a limited well of stamina that you can draw on to protect yourself from harm. On your turn, you can use a bonus action to regain hit points equal to 1d8 + your level.

4. Mending (Type: Single Target | Dice: 1d8 - support)

This spell repairs a single break or tear in an object you touch, such as a broken chain link, two halves of a broken key, a torn cloak, or a leaking wineskin. As long as the break or tear is no larger than 1 foot in any dimension, you mend it, leaving no trace of the former damage.
This spell can physically repair a magic item or construct, but the spell can't restore magic to such an object. This can be used as a bonus action during combat to heal constructs such as golems, warforged, or other such things that might otherwise be unaffected or resistant to normal healing magic. In which case a 1d8 is rolled to determine how much health they regain.

You can push yourself beyond your normal limits for a moment. On your turn, you can take one additional action.

Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again.

3. Constructed Resilience

You were created to have remarkable fortitude, represented by the following benefits: You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, and you have resistance to poison damage. You don't need to eat or drink. You are immune to disease.

4. Psychic Blades

You've developed your psychic powers enough that your blades can float close to you as long as you're conscious of them. They can't be sent further than 10 feet away.

5. Integrated Protection

You body has built-in defensive layers, which can be enhanced with armor. You gain a +1 to Armor Class.

EXTRA INFORMATION: She genuinely doesn't know any languages other than common English. Perhaps when not pertaining to spoken word between living creatures, she knows at least a little bit concerning technology, but that's not always useful on hand when there could be worlds that had never gotten to those technological advancements which could make it worth something.
