Retriever's Links
Firearm didn't like him very much when he was new. Garrett doesn't wanna step on anyone's toes, especially not his. It might take a long time for them to see eye to eye, but they'll be friends yet! He's sure of it.
Retriever is a powerful hero, but he needs to learn his place. He's no longer the only hero in the city. He's on a team now. He needs to stop trying to be the leader and realize that's Firearm's position. So stop being so .... likeable!
Clover's a nerd, but he embraces it. He can respect that, honestly. It's also cool that he has a nice group of friends in high school. Super friends, too. He wished he had that... would've been nice. The Handler as a name still makes him laugh from time to time.
Retriever is the coolest! He's probably the kind of hero Clover aspires to be. Despite how casual he is around him, Clover gets anxious around Retriever a lot. He's just so ... cool! He has no idea why he's named Retriever though...
Paladin is the most popular hero in the city- heck, even the region! He loves working with her, even if sometimes she gets a little too Mom Friend-y. He can't dislike her though. She's cute! Is that a really basic reason? Yes! And? She's cute!
Retriever is a brash hero. Formidable on his own, but he doesn't quite grasp what it means to be a part of a team yet. She likes him when they're not on an assignment. She hopes she can gently persuade him to see the value in acting as a member of team A, rather than a solo hero.
Garrett gets a lot of shit for being the only Team A hero with a secret identity, but he's got every reason to be careful with who knows what about his work. Elaine is one of the few people outside his family and the Force who knows him for who he is. While a part of him is happy to not have to hide, and ecstatic that she's so understanding, he's constantly worrying for her safety. It doesn't help that she has a tendency to get caught up in disasters... but she's the best thing to happen to him since he moved here. He won't let his work enemies find out how much she means to him.
Elaine was in love with Garret before she found out about him being a superhero. That's just a bonus! She loves how caring, brave, and true to himself he is.
She doesn't *mean* to be in danger a lot of the times Retriever is out on a mission - she IS a reporter, after all, she has to be on the scene - but she never complains when familiar, strong arms scoop her up out of danger.
