Clay was born in 26 BBY, on the planet of Naboo. He lived in a widely populated town on the Planet's surface, with his parents and brother. When he was four years old, the Clone Wars had just begun. The War didn't affect Clay and his family that much. But when the Clone Wars ended and the Empire seized control of the galaxy, that's when things became alot harder. 

Clay was eight years old when his family was killed. It had been a year since the Empire took power, and their military forces were just starting to reach Naboo. Stormtroopers patrolled the streets, and the inhabitants of the town slowly learned to fear the new leadership. Clay's parents worked as street vendors, selling different types of locally grown fruit and vegetables. Him and his brother, Neri, would often help out with the small shop, trying to make as much credits as possible. One day, Clay was helping Neri restock some of the items that they were selling. A group of three stormtroopers walked up to the shop, notifying Clay's parents about the sudden and unfair increase in rent. His parents weren't happy about this. The shop was the only way they got enough credits to stay alive. Clay's parents engaged in an argument with the stormtroopers, resulting in both of them getting shot. Clay and his brother watched in fear from the side. Tears filled Clay's eyes as Neri stepped forward, pointing his own blaster pistol at the three troopers. In anger, Neri began to fire back at them. A single blaster shot from one of the Stormtrooper's weapons. And Clay's brother was gone. Clay took a shaky step back, his vision blurred from tears. He made a small sound of fear, and the Stormtroopers looked in his direction. Instinct took over, and he immediatly turned and ran. He hid in an alleyway for a long while, before he was eventually found and brought to the town's orphanage.

The orphanage was filled with kids, all with simalar stories. It took Clay a while to adjust to life there, but eventually, he did. 

In 15 BBY, when Clay was eleven, he met Benton, a new arrival at the orphanage. Benton was just five years old, and had just recently lost his parents. Clay related greatly with the small Mirialan boy, so he took Benton under his wing. The two became close friends, nearly inseparable. 

In 10 BBY, The Orphanage was becoming more and more crowded. The number of kids being orphaned by the empire began to increase. There was hardly enough supplies to keep the children healthy, and there wasn't much food to go around. Clay was 16. Him and a few other kids were old enough to leave, to allow more space for the new orphans. So that's what they did. Clay and a group of five others left. Benton came as well- his bond with Clay so strong that he couldn't bear to part with him. 

Clay and his friends tried to survive on their own, by leaving Naboo and going off-world. but it proved to be alot harder then they thought. The Empire made life so difficult for everyone- and as they all tried to find a permanant home, most of the small group of orphans had been killed by the Empire. Now only Clay and Benton remained. They fought to stay alive, both taking up bounty hunting as a way to make credits. 

In 2 BBY, Clay met Titus. Clay and Benton had both grown to be strong and capable Bounty Hunters. One day, they were assigned to a bounty that another crew was also assigned to. At first, Clay didn't trust Titus, Ross, and Vex. But eventually, he did, and they all became a family.
