Takes place in summer 1234. Old memories keep haunting Mordreaux in the wake of the Endless Spire's emergence, but after Lugh wakes up to keep him company in the face of another sleepless night, the two decide to finally address things that have been eating away at them.

The centuries old mage Aleister has become a monster, and many find themselves trapped in the newborn monster's cloying mist. Once awoken from his dream, Lugh sets out together with Mord to find what remains of Aleister, only to come across another familiar face first.

Lugh and Mordreaux take part in the competitions under false personas, but it's not for the festivities alone they've decided to attend the Grand Tourney. The wanted pair is looking for an unicorn, and it seems like they are in luck.
Off to the side of the tournament grounds, there is the great market. Merchants and shopkeepers from all over Ivras have gathered to take advantage of the crowds: nobles and commoners alike.
Ioeth, magically disguised as the non-mage Haiza, has set up a tent, taking the opportunity to sell their wares—mainly fine gold jewelry, with a handful of other items available upon request.

Medea and her friend Llyr are trying to find their way back to civilization, when they're happened upon the much-corrupted Antioch and the determined Malmr and Lugh. Intentions clash over Medea's fate, unable to see eye-to-eye.

A continuation of Doubt truth to be a liar. After claiming his long lost companion as his prisoner, Mord leads them both on horseback to an abandoned house in the woods - the House of Yarrow. Things take a turn for the worse, when what was meant to be nothing but a simple spell to bind Lugh to himself is suddenly given more meaning than Mord was ready for.

Takes place right after Not a cage, but a garden. Vilas and Mord meet for the second time. Mord reveals his grief at losing an old rival/lover, Lugh, who has the ability to reflect any magic aimed at him, including Mord's mindreading. When Lugh seemingly returns from the dead, Mord doesn't handle it very well.
