Miori Yu (悠 美織 Yū Miori) is a ungaikyo from the city of Thalarion within the Dreamlands.

Concept

Some parts of her design are inspired by Kikuri and the Dark Mirror enemy from Lotus Land Story.

Name

Her name is a play on "mirror you", referencing how her abilities create (demonic) copies of whoever looks into her mirror.

Official Profile

Miori is the remnant of a lost dreamer who perished within the Dreamlands, their name lost to time. Out of all the objects that the dreamer left behind, a mirror managed to survive. Over time, it became a youkai.

Deep within the Dreamlands, several dreamers are often found to have wasted away before they can fully experience the mysteries of the cities within. Thalarion had several dreamers meet their end; few are able to survive the monstrosities it holds and leave without their sanity intact.

Miori lacks not only emotion, but has no real personality, as all she has ever been around are the Dreamlands' incomprehensible monsters. She came to reflect their twisted desires and minds as her only means of expression. Anyone who gazes deeply into her mirror will be attacked by a monstrous version of themselves. Should these doppelgängers manage to kill the original, they will take their memories and place in the real world.

Her novelty and abilities gained the favor of Thalarion's ruler, and thus she accompanies her wherever she goes. She has come to Celephaïs to inspect the damage done by a nightmare creature. While her master was busy repairing the damage, Miori was tasked with looking for any suspicious characters and capture them on sight to bring in for questioning.
