This is just a dumb, funky lil art class thing I started, idk why or how but it's cool, neet n dandy :) Lookat me, contributing to the "art class is too weird" stereotype? n all that. Anywho, every student is a different type or breed of rat, each with an occupation of their choice. Rats can be a regular breed or just outright outlandish like flying rats, aka pigeons. Of course, exceptions will be made since this isn't anything serious. Just some flavour to add to an already perfectly seasoned class. The largest exception however is the Mayor. They are typically the most responsible of the students (teachers are rats too heck yea). Every 2 years a new Mayor must be elected unless yaknow, bacchanal happens and a new Mayor must be elected.
About
Padoo's a weird one. When she isn't stumbling from her knee she's making living rooms and designing your auntie's glass cabinet.
As the village caprpenter, she is the primary provider of most of the local wood works and crafts. Of course, this job uses up a lot of wood and other plants, so behind her home and workshop there's an abundance of trees and flowering plants to make her living. Seeds and other resourses are also grown there as materials to trade for other ratties in the village.
Trades | Tree n Flower Seeds
Golden Shower Tree Seeds-Fairly common trees in the village. The wood of the golden shower trees are very durable and often used in building cabinets, bridges, an architectural tools. Sticky brown pulp inside the tree's seed pods has been used in making herbal medicines. In some areas, the fruit is used to fight malaria, a disease caused by mosquitoes.
Possible source of yellow and black dye. Seeds are sometimes used as beads in jewelery making.
Donkey Eye-They're more of a collectable / souvenir. The Mucuna pruriens, or Donkey Eye, is a bean that can be found around near the beaches / shoreline. Rats all round know about this special bean from growing up, learning that they can scratch the black part on a concrete surface and use it to 'burn' their friends. The bat-pollinated flowers and pods are produced on long, rope-like stems that hang from the forest canopy. At maturity, each pod produces several hard, marble-like seeds. The seed is called "ojo de buey" because of its striking resemblance to the eye of a bull or deer, but it is refered to as "Donkey eye" in the village.
Hibiscus Seeds-Pretty and edible. Plus, hibiscus flowers are great for making tea and they draw in a heck ton of hummingbirds, and you know what that means...nector in her tea if the hummingbirds don't get to them first.
Trades | Fruit Seeds, Nuts n Seasonings
Sesame Seeds-Sesame seeds are a good source of healthy fats, protein, B vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and other beneficial plant compounds. Regularly eating substantial portions of these seeds — not just an occasional sprinkling on a burger bun — may aid blood sugar control, combat arthritis pain (oh lord she needs that), and lower cholesterol.
Chadon Beni Seeds or snippets-Really just her favourite seasoning. Oh she bout to make a mean sandwich with chadon beni sauce~ It's gonna be good. The root can be eaten raw for scorpion stings and the leaves themselves can be eaten as a chutney.
Pois Doux (Padoo)-Aka Ice-cream Bean. It's her favourite :)c Leaves, when used regularly, can help to cure headaches and nerve problems and the bark and seeds which are edible after cooking, are used for the treatment of dysentery. Thanks to padoo's natural anti-inflammatory properties, it can even be helpful for bone health and as a prevention for rheumatism, which she thinks she needs since her left shin aches from time to time.
Roucou-Roucou is the local name for the Annatto fruit of the Achiote tree. The fruit is a heart-shaped pod with spikes on the surface and seeds inside. Historically, these seeds are used to flavor foods, and the vibrant orange, red color was used as a die in native tribes. The pulp covering the seeds is ground or soaked in water to release the pigment, which would then be used to adorn the body or hair. When used in foods, it can also add color, but it adds a nutty, peppery and a sweet, earthy taste to a dish as a flavoring.
Brazilian Nuts-Hella expensive and rare nuts to come by, possibly due to it's nature to be imported as it is only grown in a specific location outside of the village. 1lb of nuts could possibly get you a fancy 4-seater table set.
[Seal Point Siamese Dumbo] The village vagabond caught snagging little stones outside the workshop. Both are cool, gucci n buddy buddy with each other. Chert trades some of her mining finds for nuts, seeds and mining tools n vise versa for Padoo and those lil trinkets to use for her crafts.
Oh Mayor our beloved. Doubling as both Mayor and Florist, she's always checking in on her rat citizens, organizing events n all that while finding time to look after her flower shop and garden. She's also really cool with Padoo, often trading flowers, seeds n nuts for different architectural projects going on in the village. Bonds other their concerns for Murder Rat. He can be a menace at times.
Highly respected by all village rats, a teacher, and master at her craft. Taught Padoo a third of what she shows. One of the thirds comes from the rattie, LaTouché sir.
Leave her alone she's working magic. She's most often cooped up in her lil mage abode learning spells and finding easier ways for the village to manage itself. Ah, the holy mage rat, making her appearence when we need her most.
[Russian Blue Self] A farmer, scientist and village DJ all in one yessir. For some reason Padoo has a habit of calling him "sir" even thought she's older and on equal terms with him. They talk about music from time to time so there cool. But mmm since he's like the right hand man to a particular village wererat menace, rats tend to their distance when he seems particularly busy, in case the two are preparing a hit. Rat Amore brings alot of his tradings to Mayor Rat to manage so mmm.
[Black Self] Bringer of chaos and great concern, behold, this wererat man. For some reason the village just lets him settle there. I mean we rats can't really do anything, there's no police system in place. There is a detective tho! But she's a privite investigator, and since he only offs the NPCs there's no real reason to actively chase this man down. Padoo's a bit wary of him coming around her workshop. Can't tell whether or not she's afraid of being harmed or afraid of her wood working tools being used for kills.

Can dance like the snake that tempted Eve and more, mainly does Trini cultural dances tho. Most to always seen with Collage Rat since they've been friends since highschool.
Invited once by Mayor Rat and now visits whenever he likes to vibe n voice how weird the village is. Admitts he's weird too for willingly bringing himself to visit the village on a regular basis. He now provides the village most of the rumors and important infomation going on from beyond.
