Attus Aetiir's Links
Attus is excited to talk about magic with Ness and is most interested in their siren magic. They have saved him on occasion from his own magical misfirings, later sharing a laugh over it. Though Ness is a proficient sniper and bounty hunter, Attus doesn't feel threatened by them and will open up around them if asked about anything.
Ness enjoys Attus’s curiosity about magic and is more than happy to help teach him or go over some forms of magic that Attus might not be familiar with. They often feel like they can relax and let their guard down around him, something which they can’t say of many people, and the fact that they can be more honest in what they say and think. They do, however, try to help Attus see Arabella’s softer and more vulnerable side when they think he might be passing judgement on her.
Attus is generally annoyed/frustrated that his father doesn't acknowledge him as a son. He keeps Iestyn's pocket watch with him as proof, but nothing seems good enough.
Since this strange lad has dropped into his life and claimed to be his son, Iestyn has been trying his hardest to find a way to boot him out of it. He sees nothing of himself in the boy and is insistent to Verysse that he must be some sort of conman. Highly skeptical of Attus’ claim that he is Iestyn and Verysse’s son from the future, Attus also represents a deep fear for Iestyn: the fear of parenthood.
Attus was immediately entranced by the siren, much to his own chagrin. Not only was she beautiful but a mermaid (which probably fascinated him more to be honest). Though he protests, he will more likely than not find himself under her thumb.
It was a chance encounter in a tavern that brought the siren and the drake into one another’s circles. Arabella thinks that Attus is simultaneously hilarious and infuriating; hilarious because she enjoys teasing him for his prudish and proper persona and infuriating because of the way she thinks he twists all she says so that it comes across in the worst possible way. Still, she enjoys poking fun at him and seeing if she can help loosen him up at all.
Before being sent to the past, Attus was very close with his mother. With this in mind, his first goal was to find her. He's a very loyal son, often helping her fetch groceries or clean and she has taught him much about being a pure-blood dragon and how to control his form.
Verysse has always wanted to be a mother, to no avail. When she met her son from the future, she immediately believed him. She does not know much about Attus and feels like Iestyn is keeping the two of them apart.
The two started out as childhood friends, in Attus' less flattering days. They traveled through the same wormhole together, both being flung into the past. Sometimes they reminisce about the future, but find solace in sharing history with each other. Attus eventually invited Henley to live with him in his library. Spending more time together in his cramped bedroom, he has even warmed up to starting a relationship with him. The two practice sparring with Attus' magic and Henley's brawn. Though Henley is naive, Attus reminds him that he shouldn't sell himself short and he always is thankful for Henley's hard work and perseverance.
Having been friends since their gremlin childhood days, Henley considers Attus one of his oldest and most beloved friends, despite the fact that he’s considered an outsider by the Harranhad clan. Henley is devoted to Attus, even risking his life and separating from his family to follow him into the past and make sure he’s safe. Henley is proud of how smart and hard working Attus is, though he often feels guilty that he’s in the way of Verysse’s plans for Attus to settle and have children.
Attus has had his possessions stolen by Leura before and tried to rescue back anything with sentimental value. He finds her an annoying pest, hating when she outsmarts him and the blatant lies she feeds him. Deep down he feels a little sorry for her.
Attus tires of Lilli's constant romantic pursuit of him. He's let her down easy several times but it doesn't seem to go through so now he just finds himself yelling "YOU'RE NOT MY TYPE". With this (sometimes) mutual understanding, he will still tolerate Lilli hanging out with him. He finds her annoyingly shallow, only being attracted to him because he's a dragon and frustrated because she doesn't want to use her magic or learn from him.
Attus is the forbidden, unobtainable fruit of Lilli’s desires. He’s a combination of all of her (supposed) deep desires – a capable and powerful dragon who can use magic and is handsome in his human form to boot. The only problem is that he is not interested in her in the slightest, much to her shock and confusion. His personality? Irrelevant as far as she’s concerned, but if she had to characterise him, she’d call him a prude, a big stick in the mud and certainly in denial about his lack of attraction to her.
