General Notes: Kitty stands at 5 feet and 5 inches, having a chubby build and a round face. Her hair is brown and curly, which is usually mid-back length. She has blue-green eyes and a sigil on her lower back, in the shape of a rune for good luck. While it could pass as a regular tattoo, she covers it just in case.

Injuries and Scars: Does not have any prominent scars, as she didn't adventure out until the events of the story.

Clothing Style: Adelias likes to switch between various styles of clothing and doesn't really have any distinctive preference of attire. Depending on how she feels, she may present herself as either feminine, masculine, or androgynous. When out in public, she tends to wear very casual and often mismatched clothing as to not stand out too much, and often dons a face mask for anonymity. Loves to wear elaborate outfits when given the chance, wears more simple clothing for adventuring. For formal events, Kitty often doesn't have much of a choice and is obliged to wear a dress that matches the rest of the family's apparel, but will often wear a suit when given a choice.

CONSTITUTION

Strengths: Kitty's pretty fast with her hands, able to solidfy magic and sculpt it into what she needs in a matter of seconds. And while not exceptionally strong like Luke, she does possess a pretty good amount of physical strength after learning proper combat.

Weaknesses: Adelais isn't the best at close combat, having pretty slow reaction times and overall speed. She relies a lot on distance, since her summon weapon is a bow & arrow. Her magic also only works when abundant mana is present in the air, and is unable to cast magic if there is none.

Health: Good, but is potentially cursed. She seems to be resistant against magic-based illnesses, which she theorizes may be caused by the curse.

DEMEANOR

Adelais' resting expression is usually neutral/blank or a small smile. Kitty's very bad at hiding how she's feeling and can be read like an open book. She may try to pretend to feel different, but looks nervous when doing so which always gives her away. Often keeps her hands closed tightly and her head down when in large crowds or among strangers.

Personality

Adelais is somewhat of a mystery to her kingdom, a reclusive and quiet princess very rarely seen outside the castle walls. Amongst strangers, she keeps a professional and princess-like attitude, although she has a tendency to jump at the slightest of sounds and movements. She tries her best to be polite and well-mannered but has difficulty reading social cues, which often results in her coming off as arrogant. It doesn’t take much for Adelais to warm up to a person, as the smallest kind gesture can cause her to immediately open up. Kitty is quick-witted and always eager to learn- and just as eager to share her knowledge with anyone who will listen. She’s extremely passionate about all of her endeavors, often emotionally investing herself into her projects to the point of exhaustion. Often isolating herself to prevent ridicule, she isn’t the best at connecting with others on an emotional level but makes an effort to do so anyway. Her confidence is pretty high, rarely hesitating to do what she believes is right. While she likes to consider herself a romantic, she’s terribly inexperienced and instantly becomes a flustered mess if someone makes romantic advances to her.

Kitty is very aware of her high intelligence, often assuming she is the smartest one in the room and that others are not as smart as her. She absolutely HATES being wrong, always considering herself to be right. Because of this, she’s quick to flaunt around her status to get out of a scrape or get an upper hand in an argument. Adelais is desperate for approval from others, especially from those she respects. She’ll go to great lengths to avoid being seen as selfish or immoral, usually resulting in her taking performative philanthropic actions. While usually confident, she can easily be brought down by others' negative opinions of her. Indecisiveness is common for her, often feeling the need to research every possible option before even entertaining the idea of deciding. She finds handling any amount of responsibility debilitating and she’ll often try handing it off to the nearest person. Kitty can often be pretty tactless, especially when stressed, and lashes out under pressure. Adelais is incredibly sensitive and can’t take criticism at all, often responding defensively if she doesn't burst into tears first.

Interests & Beliefs

Superstitions: Fairly superstitious, does her best to avoid giving herself bad luck.

Political Stance: She was always taught to trust the government, but as she grew older she couldn't help but view things more critically. Adelais believes that the current government isn't focusing on the right issues.

Hobbies: Reading, researching, practicing and experimenting w/ magic.

Religious Beliefs: Raised as a Paraguist, but is not super religious herself. Holds many negative memories from her visits to the shrines as a child.

Thoughts on people: There's no such thing as a purely good person, nor is there such thing as a purely bad person. There IS such thing as an asshole though.

HISTORY

The life of a royal is supposed to be easy, fun, and luxurious- but that doesn't quite apply to Adelais.
Born at the start of a new century under high expectations, her parents were shocked to find their daughter wasn't a twin, as expected, but a singular child. The pair concluded that this must mean Adelais held Jupiter's Curse, a belief that was only strengthened when the young princess was non-verbal for the first four years of her life. And thus began the various and repetitive curse screenings and supposed "treatments" that Kitty would endure for most of her early childhood. Although the tests came out inconclusive, the nobility and public of Dormere still held onto the belief that Adelais was cursed, and treated her accordingly.

As she grew older, Adelais became more concious of how people treated her and why, deciding to keep to herself to avoid interacting with others. Her reclusiveness only worsened when she was kidnapped and nearly drowned at sea, likely by a disgruntled lower-class noble. Since then, the princess was rarely seen outside of the occasional big press event or tabloid picture. Adelais preferred to stay in the castle, choosing to devote her time to both her studies and restoring the neglected royal library. Kitty did her best to stray away from the fate her supposed curse would lead her to and attempted to keep her public image clean, but couldn't help but indulge her interest in the unknown and occult.

Adelais would constantly pitch to her father and other nobility the concept of research facilities based on her research and theories, and would often be turned away and/or laughed at afterward. Her research mostly focused on ancient magic and astronomy, the former being taboo and the latter being impossible to study due to how Reo's Tears affect the Earth's sky. The constant rejection only fueled her ambitions, causing her to dig even deeper into her studies and secretly become a red magician with the help of Rane. To this day, she spends days at a time in her library, hoping to prove to her kingdom (and herself) that she has worth beyond her supposed curse.
