Basics
HELLO, I'M JEREMY. THERE. ARE WE DONE HERE?
CHARACTER SYNOPSIS
Jeremy is a closed-off individual who is a huge jerk to most people, only letting very few people see his true colors. He's very distrustful of others and is easily frustrated. With his loved ones he is very sweet and empathetic. He can be very persuasive and charming when he wants to be, and is very well-spoken in general.
MAGIC TYPE (FERROSHIFTER)
As a ferroshifter, he can turn his body either partially or entirely into metal and can control it's shape to form weapons and other objects. He mostly uses his magic while doing questing work, but may occasionally use it domestically to mimic tools or simply for his own amusement (like scaring someone).
Physical Appearance
CONSTITUTION
Strengths: Being trained how to properly control his magic at a young age, Jeremy is exceptionally skilled at holding metallic forms for long periods of times and can also take on some very intricate forms as well. He's light on his feet and has pretty quick reflexes as well, able to use his magic to block hits if he isn't able to dodge in time.
Weaknesses: As a ferroshifter, Jeremy is extremely sensitive to heat. High temperatures cause him to become sluggish and sickly, as well as slow his ability to use magic. He isn't very strong and relies solely on his speed & magic during fights.
Health: Decent. Doesn't get sick very often.
DEMEANOR
Jeremy's resting face tends to look annoyed or have half-lidded eyes. He's fairly good at visually concealing his emotions, but anger and annoyance tend to slip through easily. He allows his face to emote freely when around those he trusts. Avoids physical contact with strangers and tends to slouch a little when relaxed. He often bares his fangs when angered.
INVENTORY
A name-brand gaming console that Jeremy carries in case of any down-time between jobs or other outings. Seems to be a special-edition with a cutesy popular character displayed on the back. Most of the games held in its case are RPGS.
An intricate, claw-forged locket made by Rory when both still lived amongst the dragon clutch. Rattles when shaken.
A basic & portable first-aid kit. Handy for missions and other Luke antics.
Personality
To most, Jeremy is a grumpy and selfish jerk. He’s always scowling and has a very pessimistic view of everything around him. If his looming figure and fanged snarl don't ward others off, it's often his cold personality, insults, and rude demeanor. This is all intentional, as Jeremy is very distrustful of others and would much rather keep most away than give them a chance. Jeremy is very eloquent and could easily convince almost anyone to do or believe anything with words alone- although, he'd much rather use his silver tongue to make you cry and go away. He’s extremely secretive and hates being lied to, but has no qualms about lying to get out of a situation or to get something he needs. It’s difficult for Jeremy to risk it all for a grand cause, especially if it’s a danger that doesn’t directly affect him. He’s used to looking after himself and his own, having no desire to play the hero or save the kingdom. He can usually manage most of his emotions pretty well, but can easily become frustrated and has difficulty managing his anger. Jeremy's pretty much all bark and no bite, being a bit of a coward and often not wanting to face the consequences of his actions.
Past his spiky exterior lies Jeremy’s true nature: a bitter, but earnestly sweet guy. While not close to many, his loved ones are of great importance to him and he is extremely protective of them, doing everything in his power to make sure they are safe and happy. Although he may not show it to strangers, he is emotionally intelligent and empathetic toward others. Generally, he’s more than happy to lend a helping hand to someone in need, though often feigns reluctance to keep up his cold facade. He loves to tease others, even those he likes, while also making sure to provide words of comfort or motivation when they need it. More of a listener, but can be quite talkative around those he’s close to, especially when talking about something he’s passionate about. Jeremy’s fantastic at planning things out and likes to be in charge, finding it difficult to stick to a plan he didn’t contribute to. Rarely taking any situation seriously, he’s pretty quick with quips & jokes. He finds the most comfort in familiarity and prefers to stick to set routines. Jeremy’s usually very honest and open with loved ones though he still sometimes feels the need to conceal things about himself to avoid rejection or abandonment.

HISTORY
Abandoned and left out on the street as a mere newborn, Jeremy was fortunate enough to be taken in by a passing-by R'oulrynth. Being a human child raised by a dragon certainly presented some challenges for the both of them, but R'oulrynth (or 'Rory', as baby Jeremy would call him) persisted and refused to just dump the kid somewhere else- despite the judgments of his family. Jeremy would only last in the otherwise fully draconic clutch for a couple of years before the family heads disowned them both, leaving them dirt poor as a result.
With Rory unable to hold a traditional job for very long, he did whatever he could to earn money, often resorting to doing what he did best: lying to and swindling rich people. Jeremy, too young to be left alone, often tagged along as his guardian "worked". By observing the people around him, Jeremy learned how to lie and persuade very well, and could catch others in a lie very easily. It wouldn't be too long until they managed to get a small house, around inner San Lumìs. They still struggled financially, barely scraping by most of the time, but they weren't miserable. Rory truly loved Jeremy and strived to be the best parent he could and Jeremy loved his draconic guardian back. Rory would still bring his kid along as he worked. Jeremy would occasionally help him with earning money- but would stop as he grew older. He found con work beneath him and a misuse of his time, preferring to spend it doing something a little more...honest.
Jeremy had always been curious about his origins, and as Rory was always transparent about how he found him, it wouldn't take long for him to find a way to reach out to his biological family. As can be expected, he was not received very well by them, and the interaction only served to fuel his fear of abandonment even further. He recovered eventually, carrying on his life as he always did. Not having many friends, he focused on school, planning on becoming a therapist in the future. Even as a child, he was never very social, a trend that continued into his teenage years. He had always figured that Rory was the only other person he could trust- and, to avoid being rejected by others, he chose to reject them first. This, however, changed when he turned sixteen.
With seemingly no reason and definitely no warning, Rory would suddenly take off one day, in the middle of the night. Jeremy wasn't too worried at first, thinking that he probably went off to run an errand or something as equally trivial. But as the weeks passed by, he grew more and more distraught, wondering if there was something he did to cause him to leave. After a few months, he had no choice but to become an emancipated minor, which only further cemented the fact that he was completely on his own. He took out his frustration on everyone around him- mostly his classmates, which would eventually result in him getting his ass kicked frequently. It was after one of these fights that he met Luke.
After losing terribly, Jeremy had decided to leave the school for the day and sulk around in the nearby forest. He came across a nook keeper, threatening to call the authorities on Luke after he was caught stealing. He decided to stand up for him, intimidating the nook keeper into letting Luke go. Afterward, he couldn't seem to shake him off, despite them getting into constant arguments with each other. Eventually, they grew closer, Jeremy would visit Luke every day to talk to him for hours on end. And, after a particularly harsh winter, Luke would move in with him. As he graduated high school and made plans to attend college, his new housemate would start his training to become a knight. Jeremy would then change his mind about college once Luke officially became a knight, however, deciding to instead take up Luke's offer to work with him. The two have been working as questing knights since, and are practically inseparable.

MAIN RELATIONSHIPS
Luke Berson Best Friend ➜ Boyfriend
Despite being polar opposites, Jeremy loves Luke so much. He's one of the only people he's entirely honest to, and he's willing to put up with the most ridiculous nonsense as long as it makes Luke happy. Jeremy loves talking to Luke and does practically everything with him, these two are very rarely seen apart. He tries to encourage Luke to be more vocal about his feelings and to take care of himself better, but Luke is very stubborn. While usually very open to him, Jeremy tends to hide his true feelings for him with teasing and jokes, though he tends to slip up from time to time. Once they start dating, Jeremy is, of course, a lot more straightforward with him but can't resist teasing him now and then. He genuinely loves him and would protect Luke with his life if he had to.
Princess Adelais Aquaintance[?]
Jeremy hated Kitty from the start solely due to the fact that she's royalty. He refuses to be even slightly nice to her, always disrespecting the princess any chance he gets. The two don't get along very well at first and almost immediately break out into an argument (usually started by Jeremy) the moment they're put in a room together, and can only work together in super dire situations. Later on in the story, they decide to work out their differences due to [SPOILER] and gradually become really close friends. He finds a lot of comfort being around her, and does his best to give helpful advice to Kitty when she needs it.
