Jude

Marley and Theo's high school friend, a kind and understanding guy who was willing to see how guilty Marley felt after Briana's suicide and befriended her instead of ostracizing her. Was just an average HS pothead back in those days, but developed a harder drug problem during and after his senior year that estranged him from his family due to his stealing, “borrowing” money, and erratic behavior. His uncle was willing to believe the best in him & took him in, but military service shipped his uncle off to Afghanistan, where he ended up MiA + eventually presumed dead. Jude spiraled from there, leading to his aunt kicking him out. He wound up on the streets for a bit, busking or dealing sometimes (and stealing, others) but picked himself up with the assistance of Francisco. He kicked the amphetamine habit by embracing the healing power of The Arts, and is now a semi-successful record/music store owner. Still halfway hopes his uncle will stagger back to civilization out of the desert and come home. He knows it's not likely. He has 3 parrots: Two sun conures respectively named "Chico" and "Sgraffito" (he kept chewing off pieces of drywall), and a green-cheeked conure named Rico.
