| Short description Ariamon's youngest brother, young halcylian boy, who - at the beginning of the story - lives totally normal life on a small farm with his mother, proving that not ALL members of the Zaivar family always turn out to be cruel evil magicians. Stell's mother Angela decided to leave the whole Zaivar family and their village soon after he was born - as she despited their behaviors toward normal people and didn't approve their beliefs. She especially hated her cousin, Edielius, who actually... was the father of her son. For next 13 years Angela and Stell lived in quite poor cottage in a calm village far away from the Zaivar clan, almost never activating their Light powers. Angela had been always telling Stell that the Light is something evil and shouldn't be exposed to normal people, and also, she had never told her son the truth about their family. Stell doesn't know much enjoys life as it is, but he's kinda curious about why his mother always gets so anxious when he asks her about their relatives and is against using the Light in good way. Despite having a serious heart disease, Stell is very hardworking and courageous and tries to help his mother with the farm. Unfortunately, their peaceful life gets disturbed when the Zevelia group finds them and forces them to join their evil halcylian mafia. Aria Zaivar, who is one of Zevelia's leaders (and also basically Angela's aunt), takes Stell with her and forces him to being her assistant, trying some horrible methods of manipulation on him. He does everything to not give up and not join the Zevelia, but it seems like, for some weird reason, Aria gets obsessed with him more and more. Even when he becomes a "fake" member and pretends to be faithful, he still wants to rebel against Zevelia, as he sees it as something that completely ruined his and his mother's calm life. Stell tries to remain unbreakable no matter what - and provides to Ariamon that NOT ALL Zaivars are insane evil guys. Just as Ariamon, Stell wants a revenge on these guys too, but somehow in a more...healthy way, he seems to be much more mentally stable than him; also, Stell never develops the hatred towards ALL halcylian society and believes that it's not the Light power that makes some of them bad. Adult Stell joins Ausurius organisation and actively works against Zevelia, encouraged by Variel. However, before it happens, this boy has to go through some really tough episodes in his life. |
| Personality Stell had always been a nice, hard working, brave and pure hearted person who had never done something bad in his life. Before Zevelia had kidnapped him and Angela, he was a simple, playful and friendly boy who always had a lot of friends around him. Despite his not so good health, he was willing to help on the farm and usually never complained about anything. Even though his mom forbid him to activate his Light gift in front of other people's eyes, he showed it to other children one or two times, but it didn't make him in any troubles. In 1917 Lavender- mysterious homeless halcylian woman, who seems to not remember a single thing from her life - appears around their cottage and Stell convinces his mother to help her. Angela agrees that Lavender can stay in their house. Soon after that, Zevelia group finds all of them and forces them to leave the village and go with them. Stell, Angela and Lavender become separated. Stell attracts attention of Aria Zaivar, one of Zevelia's leaders, who surprisingly knows his mother and explains him the origins of the Zaivar family. Now the old lady does everything to make Stell a "perfect halcylian" - not letting him to be wasted and broken, like his mom, who had committed a huge sin by leaving the family and turning away from their beliefs about high halcylian supremacy. Aria desperately wants him to accept Zevelia, believe in its ideologies and become a proud and strong member of the group, but also tries to provide him a right education. She seems to develop a strange obsession about him, what is even noticed by other Zevelia's leaders, she imprisons him and gives him private lessons - but she actually has some personal reasons for treating him like this. Stell decides to pretend that he accepted Zevelia, but in fact, he never supports it and wants to run away from it - and also, save his mother. In 1918 Aria sends Stell to Halmaime Island, but he never gets here - he jumps from the ship and finally escapes, trying to find his mother. This journey turns out to be really hard for him, but during this time, he meets a strange old lady living in deep forest who saves his life. Stell is shocked when he discovers that this woman's name is... Stella Zaivar... and it's actually... Aria's older sister, his real grandmother. But even though Stella treats him good, the boy gets very mistrustful and is afraid of staying with her for too long, especially that he notices how much she reminds Aria - and that she seems to be a bit too overprotective, so he decides to leave her and continue his journey. Unfortunately, he gets caught by Zevelia again, despite he really tries to fight with Aria, not hiding his hatred towards Zevelia anymore. When Aria discovers about his disobedience, she gets absolutely furious. And this is the moment when the worst things start to happen. After keeping him imprisoned for a few months, Aria has a final task for Stell - a task that might let him get his "atonement". Either you'll get useful or you'll die. Or both. She forces him to destroy Ausurius' headquarters with a bomb that can explode along with himself. She threats him that if he won't do it, she'll kill his mother, so Stell goes to Ausurius with the bomb. There he gets saved by Angela herself - and protected by Ausurius team. Quickly after he finally meets his mother after a few months, Angela gets murdered by Aria, who is completely mad at his point. This seems to be too much for Stell. Just after this Aria tries to kidnaps him again, but he manages to run away, thinking his life probably got cursed. Even though he could go back to Ausurius, where he would be safier, he starts pointless lonely journey and for some time even wants to die. The journey lasts for quite long time and he doesn't meet more Zevelia members on his way. Around 16-17, Stell gets help from old moonshine maker who lets him living in his house. The boy is very thankful and works with him for some time, but later the old man dies. Stell continues his job and seems to live rather quiet but lonely life. Finally, grandma Stella appears in his life again - in fact, she was looking for him for a few years, as her strong intuition suggested her that he might be in danger. For the first time since around 40 years, Stella leaves her hut in the forest and decides to stay with her grandson. Since that moment Stell and Stella live together, far away from all the Zevelia matters. Unfortunately... Aria had never stopped developing her obsession about Stell. She finds him, she comes back again. She comes back... and does something absolutely evil that ruins Stell the most. Aria murders her sister and attempts to take Stell with her. This time she fails - as some other mysterious people... kidnap both of them. However, Zevelia has nothing to do with it. It's a group formed by Gerard Carroway from Ausurius (without Variel's agreement and knowledge) that tries to fight halcylians "on its own way", much more brutal than Ausurius does. In this time another part of horrible events start. Now Stell's only goal in life becomes taking a revenge on the old hag who had murdered his mother and his grandma, just like his brother, Ariamon, who always wanted a vengeance on his family for everything they had done to him in the past. But his mind never gets as dark as Ariamon's and he doesn't become completely lost in life like him... well, maybe because of Ariamon himself? |
| Relations Angela - Stell's mother. She might be a bit harsh for him sometimes, but she always cares about him and worries about him a lot when she discovers that he is sick. She never lets him use his Light and avoids talking about their family. When they get kidnapped by Zevelia and separated, they really want to help and save each other, but... it doesn't turn out good for them. When Angela gets murdered by Aria, Stell becomes mentally broken and it changes him forever. Lavender - Mysterious woman who once appeared in front of Angela's house, a halcylian who has no memories at all. One of The Newcomers, Zefir's Pieces. Lavender leaves with Stell and Angela for some time and works with them on a farm, being thankful for their help, but later she gets kidnapped and is forced to join Zevelia too. While at the beginning Lavender seems to be truly against Zevelia, she gets "dazed" by Averna's special skill that lets him partly possess other's mind, and as she is a Newcomer creation, she quickly obeys. Stell turns away from Lavender when he discovers what she has done while being obedient to Zevelia (she led to arresting Rex for being a traitor, for what he got a horrible punishment). However, it seems like Lavender starts to "wake up" from the madness, she fights with the ideologies that Averna implied into her mind - and she deeply regrets her actions. She helps Stell while staying in Old Ebony Lane (Zevelia's 1st section's center) and he slowly starts to trust her again. Finally Stell reveals that he actually managed to save Rex and he most likely didn't die, as she believed. Their ways split when they both try to leave Zevelia, but both of them develop the need of taking revenge on these guys. Aria - One of Zevelia's leaders, Angela's aunt. Since Stell had been forced to join Zevelia, Aria does everything to make him a "perfect halcylian", proud, strong and cruel towards normal people. She imprisons him and doesn't let anyone gets closer to him, and even when she sees that he is very stubborn, she never lets Averna quickly "infect" his mind to "repair" him. She has a feeling she needs to teach him everything herself. Aria states that Stell's mother had commited a huge sin by leaving Zaivars and turning away from their beliefs, becoming just a regular woman who doesn't even use her alheer gift, but she claims that there is still hope for Stell and sees a lot of potential in him. Stell pretends to listen to her, but he hates the whole Zevelia ideologies and never agrees for hurting innocent people. Aria's obsession about Stell is perceived as a bit weird even by the other Zevelia's leaders, who think Stell isn't really worth all her engagement, but this woman never lets it fade - at some point she becomes more involved in getting him back/educating him/punishing him than in Zevelia's matters itself. Aria thinks that Stell should be always obedient to her and hopes that he will get the best halcylian education (she even attempts to send him to Halmaime island) - and she gets absolutely furious when the boy objects, rebels and even tries to fight with her using his Light. She seems to have no mercy and uses tortures on him several times, when she feels just too desperated. The reason why Aria is like this might be the fact she feels big disappointment about other Zaivars, who should be very strong and proud clan after all, and blames herself for what happened to them (Rionna - arrested and placed in nuthouse, Edielius - arrested and killed; Angela - traitor and escaped; Stella - traitor and escaped as well; Oraiel - gone; Ariamon - this thing doesn't even exist in our family). Stella - Stell's true grandma, mother of Edielius Zaivar, Aria's sister; an older herbalist who lives alone in a small hut in the forest. Stell's life is saved by Stella after he jumps from the ship to Halmaime - in this moment he still doesn't know who Stella really is for him, but is shocked when he discovers she is member of his family. He remains a bit mistrustful, especially that her face really reminds him of Aria, but he is thankful to her. When she starts to be a bit too overprotective and tries to stop him from further journey, he feels endangered, as it reminds him of Aria's behaviors, and he escapes from her. Stella finds Stell years later, when his mother is already dead and he lives in the house of old moonshine maker. She really worries about him and wants to support him, so she decides to completely change her way of living and never comes back to her beloved forest - since this moment she lives with her grandson. Unfortunately, her younger sister... ruins everything. After Stell loses his grandmother, he becomes mentally devastated and the only thing he wants is just revenge on Aria Zaivar. Ariamon - The details of this relation are still in progress, however, Ariamon is destined to save Stell at some point (after Stella dies and after kidnapping by Gerard's group) - as in a total contrast to what he had done to his other younger brother years ago. Ariamon was unaware that he has another brother, it is a big shock for him when he discovers Stell's existence after over 20 years. Even though he is very mistrustful at the beginning, since Stell is halcylian, he quickly notices that there is no need to be afraid of him - and that this boy is just as lost and as destroyed by Zaivars as he is. Rainil - The details here are still in progress as well, but Stell is the only one person who has some kind of friendly relations with this dead inside man, despite he hates Zevelia, while Rainil is a member of this group. Stell has big hopes for Rainil when he is taken to Ausurius and believes he can be safe and free. Their personalities are completely different, but it seems like they enjoy each other's presence. | Some other fun facts - He is named after the great-grandpa Zaivar (basically father of Aria Zaivar) whose name was Stell. It was stated that this man was absolutely horrible (even worse than Edielius Zaivar himself). The one who picked this name for Stell was his father Edielius, as a honor Stell Zaivar Sr - even though Ed didn't have the best relations with him (he certainly didn't name him after grandma Stella, who was also a black sheep of the Zaivar clan). - At some moment Stell has a bunny named Vanilla. - Stell has a heart disease and often happens to faint. It might be the result of his family's incest actions - his grandparents are actually siblings + his mother and father are cousins. - His childhood dream was to become a firefighter. - He's going to be the first person in Ausurius who is younger than Variel (he's around 20 when he joins). - He is quite good at gardening, preparing food and taking care of animals. - Stell is completely unaware of Oraiel's existence. - He literally refuses to call Ariamon by his real name, since the part Aria for sure strongly reminds him of Aria Zaivar. He refers to him just Mon, or Cinnamon, like Variel does. - When he used to live in a village with his mom, Angela was always telling him to never use the Light, threatening him that she will throw him away from house if he'll do it. what may be seen as not very good parental method, but she just wanted to live as completely normal people and forget about all the halcylian shit. |
