Ackler Heywood

aka The Great Tree of Life

God of Nature, Life, Light, Music

Gender: Nonbinary (He/They)

Sexuality: Asexual

Age: ~300+ Old, yet new. Appears in his mid twenties-early thirties. (his world is fairly new but he's been there since the beginning)

Eyes: Gold (or leafy green)

Height: ~6 feet tall (6'6" counting his antlers and crown)

Personality: a bit demure, patient, but overall kind, wise, and caring. Not naive, per say, but is often far too willing to give far too many second chances. Fun loving, a bit mischievous at times, but ultimately kind of a tree dad. Fond of light conversations over tea or seed exchanges. Likes to visit other realms to see what other worlds and their people and plants are like.

Powers:

Immortality--No one's sure how to fell this tree. At most, he can be injured until he needs to take a hibernation rest, whether that be a few days or a few hundred years depends on the severity and strength of the magic/injuries. Bleeds golden ichor that turns sticky like sap.

Regeneration--Injuries grow back, often marked by lighter colored bark or patches of flowers and grass growing on his skin. Nothing's 'too much' for him to regenerate, though more serious injuries will require a rest period to recover from.

Magic--can practice magic, and parts of them/their tree are highly useful in life magic practices (leaves, twigs, blooms, etc).

Gift of Life--As the source of life in his realm, is very powerful with life and light magic. In addition, able to revive the fallen, but as more of a plant person than before. Rarely does this, because he understands that life has its circle that must be completed at some point.

Blessings--they are a god. Can grant boons, and (much more rarely) curses.

Time--can freeze or accelerate time for themselves or others, but only in small pockets if outside their own realm.

Shapeshifting--asides from their glamour, can shapeshift into different creatures, but primarily prefers forest creatures. Always has golden features and leaves and/or branches, however.

Tree--He is the manifestation of the Great Tree of Life. He doesn't need to eat--he can sustain off water, magic, and sunshine alone. Wherever he steps, the ground becomes fertile, teeming with life (except on tile and carpet floors. If your floors are wood rest in pieces.) Relatively durable and very strong.

Skills:

Master--Life magic, light magic, medicine, being a tree
Very Skilled--gardening, singing, archery, playing guitar, lyre, kalimba, or bongos.
Skilled--art, dancing
Novice--cooking, technology

Inventory: Bag of seeds and berries (mostly to his own tree, which are golden colored. Also varies from sunflowers to junipers and more.), fruits from his home realm, for snacks or for trading/showing off. Gold resin/amber lumps. 17 key Kalimba.

Iconography: The Great Tree, ocelots, stag deer, golden butterflies, the sun, gold, golden flowers, songbirds, kalimba

History:

When a new realm came to be, Ackler came to be alongside it, as the first tree to grow within an expanse of emptiness. As they journeyed the expanse, life followed, beginning with grass but eventually flowers and trees, until eventually the world had become a pace teeming with flora and fauna of all kinds. He watches over the sprites and fairies that came to being in his enchanted wood fondly, occasionally offering aid but otherwise satisfied to simply observe and explore his realm, and eventually others.

Ackler's realm is a mix of the megaflora/megafauna era and a magical enchanted land full of small fairies, Studio Ghibli-esque sprites and spirits, dragons, etc., with humans only just beginning to come into being. Most homes and shelters are made of natural materials (leaves, wood, mud, etc), within trees or under the protection of their roots. The Great Tree stands above all the other trees, and is surrounded by offering mounds, adorned with small colorful flags, etch.

Appearance: ~6 feet tall (6'6" counting his antlers and crown). Can have skin or a more bark-like appearance. Brown skin, pointed ears, freckles like gold dust on his face and arms. Wooden antlers from the side of his head like a deer's but also like branches, adorned with ferns and leaves and moss, which change with the season (green for spring and summer, red for fall, etc.) Slender, athletic build, but he's stronger than he looks. A crown of weaved flowers and branches rests on his head almost always, not necessarily a part of him but changes with the seasons alongside him (pink cherryblossoms for spring, golden yellow flowers for summer, firey orange-red for fall, white and blue for winter). Typically found wearing flowy garments like dresses and robes, or occasionally togas. If engaging in battle (very rare), wears gold armor.
In their true form, they can manipulate their height anywhere from 8 feet to 300+ feet, but is less willing to move much at all. Fingers become like branches, antlers become more branchlike--imagine a living, walking tree.
