About

Berusen grew up as a young noble on Alderaan, even from a young age he'd always looked for more, and when descovering his abilities in the force, was eager to begin training. The jedi were the golden peacekeepers, the defenders of the weak, the just and the right, exicuting their duty unbaised and efficant. While he's certainly had some critial skeptics in his life, he was encouraged by many around him, telling him that his future was bright. His parents, before he left, telling him to let fate guide him, his destiny was grand. He dreamed of space battles and lightsaber duels, beating sith and taking on armies, he felt like that was his destiny. So, imagine his horror when he was chosen to be trained a counselor, a healer, a librarian, as he saw it. No, this certainly was not the fate he had in store. It was happening anyways, though. His resentment grew for his master when he was sent out every which way on pointless chores, nothing akin to the battle he dreamed of- so when he got the chance to fight a fallen jedi, he did not hold back. It was exiherating, and he showed no mercy to his foe. Berusen certainly has the jedi vibe going, scerene, moral, upstanding- well, that's how'd look from the outside. In realitiy he's rather apathetic, aloof and hypocrital. He relentlessly worked at the tasks given to him, hoping to get them out for the way his *real* destiny, fighting sith. Would often kill enemies to just 'get it over with', not wanting to bother with them, or stick around to help them regain their morals, all while preaching the mercy and rightuousness of the jedi. Impatient to get on with his life, to his fate. He realized his fault one night, having slipped away, ignoring the task of finding medicine to help the sick in order to chase the idealistic notion of fate, tracking down a rogue sith. When he defeted him, the sith taughted him, welcoming his death and telling him to get it over with, that in the end the jedi order was weak in their pursuit of knowlege- that Berusen would never truly win, not without the power of a sith. This struck Berusen, as this was often his way of thinking, and if a sith thought it too, well, maybe he should revaluate. It concerned him very, very much. He spared the sith. And he saw the casualities, the ones that came around from him ignoring his job. He was humbled that day. While it still took time to improve, since not eveything was a sudden change, he can see how he was slipping towards the darkside. Careless, prideful, harsh. He still maintains his critical edge and aloof nature, but he's constantly rethinking his actions to ensure he is not acting in alignment with the darkside. Something broke in him that day, understanding just how wrong he was scared him, and he wonders what else he's doing wrong. He does his best to hide his reckless youth from many other jedi masters, knowing they'd think little of him if they knew. He likes to keep his image perfect for everyone around him to see, which can be difficult when surronded by jedi, often the picture of serenity and morals. The just's judgment can often be the harshest. He's matured and grown, but still feels somewhat out of place in the ranks of scholars. Yet he would meet his greatest test when given a padawan, Pytor. A young boy who'd seen some of the harshest life had to offer in some of the earliest years of his life and has looked for a way to climb to the top since. His love for tech impressed Berusen, having never been talented with gadgets and gizmos, but finds himself concerned at the boy's force abilties, while he could move boulders and seemingly sense attacks coming, he could hardly open a holocron. Berusen is uneasy with the idea of teaching, having really only learned what it took to be a jedi recently, and sometimes still receits the code wrong. Something his peers would never do.

Moral Code

While he considered himself above many people at the start, and tossed foes to the side not deeming them worthy of redemption, it was when he caught himself slipping to the darkside, and righted that wrong, did he believe that everyone should have the chance he did. Even if they do try his patience.
