About

Cose grew up on the backwater planet Ord Mantel, currently in the middle of it's on civil war. With his father killed in the bombing and his mother serving in the separatists ranks far from home, rations low and not enough money to move off-world, Cose lived in a refugee camp among republic soldiers and other struggling families. He had a rough upbringing and living in the wartorn planet had constantly kept him on edge, often stealing food and medicine from the troops stationed there to help his fellow refugees. He made a few friends, although he felt welcomed by them, he never exactly knew how to act or socialize, often going out on his own, not returning for days, yet he still needed them. By the time he reached eighteen, his friends had all planned to join the republic to get back at the separatists--Cose had wisely kept his mother's involvement in the opposing cause to himself. Although Cose wasn't thrilled with the idea of risking his life he joined anyway, not wanting to be left behind despite his reclusive tendencies. Since he joined, however, he found his friends going into different fields, different classes and different ranks, which all but disbanded their group as he realized their friendship had meant more to him, than them. With no friends to hang out with, he found himself with nothing but time to study and train, which had him graduate at the top of his class. He was later assigned to Havoc Squad and quickly climbed the ranks... mostly because everyone but him defected. Cose is a man of few words, only speaking to acknowledge a command or add a scathing remark. Growing up on Ord Mantel had made him a cold opportunist, but he had soft spot for people who had been dragged into a war they never wanted. He feels nothing but sympathy for refugees, civilians caught in the crossfire, and young soldiers who didn't know what they were getting into when they signed on. He is incredibly distrustful of the Republic's government after witnessing his squad defect and the corruption of other officials.

Moral Code

Often tempted by the dark side, Cose's loyalty is hard-earned and while he does come across as very money-hungry, it can not be bought. He trusts and respects few, relying heavily on himself alone, which often leads to him leaving his companions and allies in the dust, expecting them to look out for themselves. He's not keen to tip-toe around his feelings about the republic, he'll often take jabs at his superiors and openly question everyone around him. He knows good, effective soldiers are hard to find, and sees himself as untouchable. After all, what are they going to do? Kick him out? He wouldn't mind that terribly, but while he's got a nice little setup and rank at the republic, he's okay staying where he is, for now, and he makes it clear he's willing to defect at any time if given a reason. While he can be bribed and won't shy away from violence, he does recognize the truly innocent victims of the war, often seeing much of himself and his family in them, and will do his best not to trouble them, and even offer some assistance if needed. He understands war hurts everyone, not just the enemy, a large part of his scathing outlook on the republic. He can't stand any sort of posturing from their officials and will go out of his way to make them look bad if he sees that kind of moral grandstanding.

Class Story Notes:

-Is both alarmed and amused at havoc's defection, only to realize in annoyed horror that it's his job to track these idiots down. It seems like everyone thinks he feels 'betrayed' by them, but like, hey, good for you dudes, you got out and defected. You do you. -TBH not feeling the trooper story I forgot what happens after that, rip.
