Neaera

Au: A queen of the D'Arby bloodline. Ithica kingdom's current ruler. She was born to king Okeanos and queen Tethys. She was of a litter of 4. Two of her siblings discarded soon after birth. One to death and the no birthmark child given to an adviser to be scattered. With only her and her brother Akragas left to remain. Akragas with the bolder mark was going to become the next heir most likely as Neaera was trained and groomed to be a "just in case" and bargaining chip for other kingdoms if needed, however her parents were reluctant of such an option. The magical power of the bloodline cannot just be shared with any kingdom. Given everything and the attention she became a cruel and rude person. Selfish and unforgiving as she was impatient and gained everything she ever wanted, her vanity was strong, but she did educate herself. Learning deeply of philosophy and the arts to make sure her and everyone she knew would be aware of her beauty. And wanted to be able to direct those of the arts on how. However this lifestyle grew short as her mother grew ill and died mysteriously. It was of poisoning, her father who was the current birthmark wielder had the power of voice/sound and vibrations, two powers, rare in their line, but soon to be more frequent due to their strengthened genes. With his commands, armies fell to their knees, those who lied told the truth. Yet as a magical being herself, her and her brother were able to resist as they grew older. Her brother had more offensive magic of water and electricity simultaneously. An impressive mark bearer being able to wield two powerful sources. And by Akragas's hands the king fell. 

No one of the kingdom knew the powers of Neaera minus her parents who tutored her privately. Even her brother didn't know. However, that night as she shed tears over her massive grief of loss she fought her brother for the first and final time. No one saw what happened, but all that remained of the Prince was just the marks of where is body had fallen. Where their body went though...no one knew.

A rather dictator like queen  as she ruled with an iron fist. Naeara kept to herself and prized her vanity even more. Rumored, because her reflection could never betray her. Then one day a resistance that hadn't been properly silenced formed. People in the royal court had aided in the overthrow. Neaera astonished wondered what had caused such a reaction and escaped her angered kingdom. Completely dumbfounded and angered she vowed to destroy her enemies, until she met Danika and grew softer. Compassion and treating her people better and not forcing her past grievances on them would ease the quarreling kingdom over time when she returned. Of course with many visits with her lover ... until offspring were had.

  Danika:
  The love? Of her life. What Neaera sees in her is an infatuation. When she looks into Danika's eyes, she doesn't have her own self reflected back. As conceited as she is, maybe that's why she is so fascinated with the Unicornis. One could say, its a relieving to not be constantly thinking about oneself, and better to think about someone else for a change. However the time was fleeting and they had to part their ways. Au: A surprising incident on how the two had met, but the runaway queen stumbled across eyes that showed her the world beyond her own. Hope, ideas and reformation in a single glance. Love at first sight, but one where the royal two could not enjoy. Accidentally results in children, four out of the five carried birthmarks. Two were very apparent and had to stay in her care (as according to her kingdom's laws of purity), the rest were given away to those who or wouldn't take them. The two still write to each other, expressing their worries and feelings in hopes as a shared connectivity. In her now much stable kingdom, Neaera still wishes her well regards, support and care. The two fret to meet again as they do not wish to unleash progeny once more.
  
  Noctis:
  A strapping son. She doesn't have much to say about it him. Other than like with all her children. Kind of wish they didn't happen. Thankfully, he was given away or sold before Mavis got too attached.  Au: The mark of her royal line was not strong enough for him to be kept. The birthmark light and faded. It is the law of her line those with the strongest, boldest birthmark at the time of the previous ruler's death will have the chance to be the replacement. As the mark is parallel to the magical capabilities of the owner. This child wouldn't get past the preliminaries, as she still wished he wasn't born he was abandoned. She gave the task to one of her advisers to do away with him. Where he went, she has no idea. In the end, Neaera did no different than her parents did to her litter. Her two magically inept or useless siblings scattered and those who fought her for the throne....well just the one. He's gone, especially since as power hungry as he was knocked off her parents early. Leaving the two of them to duel it out. His punishment was swift.
  
  Phaethusa:
  A bold daughter who she is doomed to be stuck with. As her lovely owner has a deep love for the horned children to Neaera's dismay. A bit of jealousy may have sprouted. Mavis was always so focused on the pups when they were born. Phae was a lovely opposite to her mother and also demonstrated better guard Jader qualities. So she was bound to stay. Au: Born with the boldest birthmark out of the litter, an opposite who opposes her mother fundamentally. A bit of a rebel and is most likely waiting for the moment to usurp her. To ensure she didn't have the ability to, Neaera made sure she wasn't informed of her magical abilities. What her daughter can control is both a mystery to her and herself. - any of her kids are all a mess and a pain in the ass. At least one set was of royalty, but the other...high status so it isn't too bad. Unfortunately the children of the first set of bastards are all monsters (with decent magical abilities. Ogygia's power is of memories, urges, feelings and is dangerous, but not offensively useful. Especially with the wielder not able to control her own powers against her...) and the second set extremely dangerous in magic. The second set have some of the strongest and boldest birthmarks in their royal history. Thankfully, Phaethusa didn't bring home the more outstanding presenter of the two. The timid one who lives among them is powerful, but not confident. Still dangerous competition. She is practicing reluctantly her powers in water and ice.
  
  Rhoswen:
  A bright demanding daughter. Thankfully, she was removed quickly and found a home somewhere else. Neaera didn't feel like competing with her for attention. As the crystal horns did fascinate Mavis immensely. Glad she's elsewhere. Au: The only child with no birthmark proving her abysmal lack of magical ability. Given to an adviser to get rid of, she was given as an adopted gift to the kingdom of Queen Amara. Since she had not magic it put Neaera's heart ease for not giving another kingdom an upperhand.
  
  Kodama:
  A son, who she is rather fond of. Maybe its because he looks just like her. Or maybe, nah its definitely because he looks like her. Au: A decent mark, definitely had some magic within him, but compared to the two selected it was nothing she cared too much about. An adviser took him and did whatever. Somehow years later a young woman came to the gates of Ithica. Her name was Elisidi, she wielded the birthmark as bold and as bright as the sun. She wielded a duality. She controlled "flames" (She actually controls the ability of "excitement", she's a walking microwave basically. She excites molecules until they burst which can cause explosions which subsequently lead to fire or melt shit into liquid) and flora. Very opposite abilities that she has absolute control over. A mellow personality and a kindness wrapped in a deadly deadly bow.  Oddly enough the girl was raised in Abbey/Covenant of the kingdom of Salrow. During an Abbey meetup of when she encountered on of the Abbey's of Ithica the members quickly gasped. Explained the situation to the others, and had a few members escort Elisidi to the palace. To where she now lives. Another candidate to the roster.
  
  Niabi:
  A whiny little one, who is overly dependent on everyone else. A scaredy cat who is afraid to do the simplest tasks and yet Mavis treasures her like a prize. She is the most elvian appealing Jader that Neaera may know of, but that doesn't make up for her poor personality. She will never develop properly if Phaethusa didn't help Niabi constantly with the most simplest of tasks. Au: The second boldest mark born of the litter. Her powers were on purpose never developed, however her powers are a passive one.  It is estimated to be healing and possibly water as her presence often heals people over time when near her. The serenity also heals the mind, she's one to walk around the kingdom and help others and listen to their plea. A fan favorite among the kingdom. Also her tears are used as healing potions with nearly instantaneous effects. So she's often antagonized so people can collect her tears. Touching lakes and ponds instantly purifies them to their very source. Niabi is completely unaware of all of these skills, however the people are aware that each royal holds a power or powers, so the rumors of Niabi the Healing is a popular one. Her lovers were of a lower level princess from the genetic mess of that Amara kingdom. To which the children were hidden from knowledge from both royal families.  After searching the birthmarked children were said to be "killed", but Niabi herself returned with at least one and the Amara kingdom also kept one with two "killed". Neaera highly doubts it and wonders what children had escaped into the free world. On the other hand Thrinacia did remain at least. Her birthmark small and weak. Thrinacia's power was surprising as it was the power of "Voice" like her grandfathers, unbeknownst to her knowledge. However it was a weaker and far less effective version. Niabi then once again fell into a relationship with a lowly peasant and mothered children once more. With two almost fully faded birthmarks, practically markless. With the other two that were kept with slightly stronger marks, but still minuscule in power compared to others. Leading to one with the passive ability great self-regeneration (duaene) and the other possibly illusions(Euadne).

  She was purchased by a high end breeder, promising good fortune and proper personality. A dog for the stylish and to catch the eye of any who saw her. Carefully bred, however she had hetechromia and was discounted.
  
  Mavis thought she was unique and chose her. Big mistake as she's rather lazy, but does definitely keeps people from stealing his stuff with a very scary glare
