Odessa was high-ranking member of the Gladiolus Guild, a sect of highly skilled warriors living in Eastern Elsmir. When the war began, they were one of the first to be targeted, Vi didn't want their skills assisting his enemies. They were defeated because an ex-member of the guild, Florence, advised Vi in the attack. Odessa managed to escape with her husband, El, but the two lost their child, Aaron, in the process. The two have not given up hope that he is alive, and are always searching for him, but it had been many years since they lost him and they were becoming very tired.

When Leif escaped captivity and found them, they were informed that many of their guild still live, captured in a secret prison. Odessa and Eligio were quick to agree to help Leif rescue their countrymen, and hoped Aaron was among them.
