Description

Physical Description

Aaron is an around 20 year old man. He is very tall and quite muscular. He is mixed-race (but primarily latino), and has short, wavy, warm-brown hair. He prefers wearing light clothing with short sleeves. He will often wear gold jewelry in casual settings, especially earrings, and usually has gold trimming on his shirts. He walks with a limp and can be seen using a cane or spear for support (depending on how intimidating he is trying to be). The spear is larger than an average one to account for his height. Aaron is quite strong, this fact combined with his stature and typically imposing outward appearance makes him look very formidable to most.

Personality Description

Aaron is a very cautious person. He is hesitant to trust anyone and won't reveal his true nature until he's confident he can let down his guard around an individual. He tries to project an imposing image to anyone he is unfamiliar with, which isn't difficult to do given his appearance. He is much more laid back once comfortable with someone and calm. He's compassionate, but will always prioritize his loved ones over anyone else. He is willing to hurt others, or himself, to protect them. He feels solely responsible for those he cares about, and it causes him a great deal of stress.

Past

TLDR: Separated from bio parents, adopted, meets boyfriend, reluctantly becomes executioner

Aaron was born to Odessaand El, both members of the Gladiolus Guild, a clan of powerful warriors. When Aaron was around 5, the Gladiolus Guild was targeted in a massive attack near the beginning of the Elsmirian Civil War in an effort to minimize their potential benefit to the East. Aaron was separated from his parents in the chaos, hiding in a merchant's cart as it fled the city. The owner of the cart did not notice his presence until he was a long distance from Aaron's former community. He brought Aaron to his friend Ignis, the head healer of the Western Capital.

Ignis happily took in Aaron, raising him in the healer's quarters of the castle where she worked and lived. It was there he met Henry, the young son ofKing Vi's second in command. The two quickly became inseparable, spending most of their childhood extremely close, and eventually becoming lovers. Aaron's memories of his former parents became faded over the years, though he always held out hope he would find them again some day.

When Aaron was 19, Henry's father was killed, and he was appointed as the king's Second to replace him. Henry was able to convince Vi to allow Aaron to be his personal guard, ensuring they would not be separated. The job was stressful and significantly morally compromising for Henry, who despised violence. The king's second was expected to carry out executions, something Henry would rather die than follow through on. In an effort to spare his partner, Aaron took on the responsibility of executioner. It weighed on him heavily, but Henry was his world, and he would do anything to protect him.

Aaron drew away from his loved ones during this time, deciding it would be too dangerous for them to be close to him. His mother blamed Vi for this sudden shift in Aaron, his former positivity seeming to evaporate overnight. She not-so-peacefully confronted the king about it, who subsequently ordered her execution. Aaron, of course, could never kill his mother. He explained everything to her, and released her, assuring her that he would cover up her escape. It was a tearful goodbye, but it gave Aaron an idea. From then on, Henry and Aaron began secretly releasing prisoners that were supposed to be executed. They knew it was risky, and they could be executed themselves for treason were they to be caught, but they could no longer stand by.

Present (main plot)

TLDR: Plan to run away and create a new life with his boyfriend goes horribly awry, resulting in Aaron's murder

Henry and Aaron knew their time was limited before their crimes were discovered. They began making plans to escape the positions they found themselves trapped in, and start a new life. It was not so simple as to sneak away under cover of night. Henry was too high profile. If either side of the war were to capture him, he would be killed. There was nowhere that could provide the two sanctuary.

The couple's ticket out presented it in the form of Eastern Councilor Fortuna's capture. She could grant Henry and Aaron the pardon they needed to live peacefully in the East. The two made a deal with her; they would release her and in exchange she would clear the record of their names. She agreed, and a plan was formed.

The plan failed. Vi discovered the plot and confronted Henry. The argument quickly turning bloody, resulting in the loss of Henry's sight. Aaron injured Vi badly in an effort to defend his partner, but Vi managed to get the upper hand in the end, mortally wounding Aaron. Fortuna tried to help him, but it was a fruitless endeavor. Fortuna was able to keep her word and escape with Henry, but Aaron's story ended on the grounds of the castle he had fought so hard to leave.
