Early Life

Eloise was born the only child to a pair of selfish unloving parents. Her conception was a coup enacted by her father to keep his relationship together. However, Eloise’s mother left both Eloise and her father when she was 6 years old. While she wasn’t in the best environment before, Eloise’s father decayed into a hateful drunk after his divorce.

When Eloise was 14 years old she began her gender transition. Still, she kept the information hidden from her father years afterward, only coming out after an argument at the age of 18. He was furious with her and his abuse became far more violent. He isolated his unwanted daughter in their home for two years of torture. This is when Eloise decided to make a pact with a demon.

Through her years of isolation, Eloise learned witchcraft to pass the time. She used an ancient spell to summon a horrific spider demon by the name of “Lord Claudius Arcadia Cordell”. She bargained her soul to take care of her father and any other problems she would face until being able to live a normal life. The demon, Cordell for short, agreed to her terms, sealing Eloise’s father’s fate.

Things were better than ever for Eloise. Her life was continuing where it left off two years ago and she had a powerful ally on her side. Of course, the two didn’t stay friends. They moved into more romantic territory over the next year. It was going swimmingly at first, dating was a treasure, but she was indebted to Cordell leaving her into a life of servitude. As the power imbalance became larger, their relationship began to suffer almost immediately. She was unable to set her own boundaries as she technically did owe her new boyfriend her soul.

This continued on into Eloise’s thirties, with Cordell still having trouble committing full time to the relationship. To him, she felt more like a servant than an equal and his love for her began to dwindle. He decided that to save their relationship he would ask Eloise to have a child and marry him. Hoping that things would be different after the baby, Eloise agreed to the same deal her mother had many years ago with practically the same result.

Since Eloise was unable to conceive a child herself, Cordell opted to create one magically. Fearfully, to retain a semblance of control over the child, Cordell used only his own DNA to create a being known as Klaus. He hoped Klaus would grow up to take on his family name and take hold of Greed as his dwindling family once had.

Despite all of Cordell’s hopes, Klaus grew into a loving child spoiled and pampered by his mother. What Eloise saw as kindness, Cordell took for weakness. After a violent argument with the young boy, Eloise left Cordell heading out on her own as a single mother. Cordell opted not to chase her, despite his contract for her soul.

Subheader

Years later, Eloise was living with her adult son Klaus in the suburbs outside of Synth City. Klaus had grown up to be a compassionate young man, despite genetically being a clone of his father. She continued to pamper and spoil him, worrying about being alone in the future when Klaus decides to leave home.

Suddenly, she noticed Cordell’s presence in the city worried that he would come looking for her. He confronted her one night on her apartment balcony much to her fear and distaste. She shunned him and then set off to find a solution to this problem. With a hasty decision, Eloise made another contract with a demon by the name of Solace. He lay claim to Cordell’s soul in exchange for breaking her contract with him. She felt guilty but decided it was the only thing she could do to keep her and her son safe.

Much to her surprise, Cordell appeared to her once more unknowing about her contract with Solace. He apologized for the transgressions he committed against her during their marriage asking for her forgiveness and a chance to be apart of his son’s life again. Eloise’s guilt toiled inside of her, but she decided that he deserved a second chance with her and with Klaus.

The two began falling in love once again, severing the terms of their contract and striving for a healthier relationship this time. Klaus was still wary of his father after all these years, but he too slowly came to accept him back into the family. The only problem was that Cordell still had a “bounty” on his head that Solace still had plans to reclaim.

Eloise admitted her wrongdoing toward Cordell, causing him to become angry. The betterment he’d been searching for restrained his violence as he came to understand Eloise’s position. She apologized profusely but Cordell excused it as his own fault for the trouble he’d caused her early on. He and Solace had a score to settle and he would put an end to this.

Eloise assisted Cordell in his battle with Solace, taking measures to break her contract with both him and Cordell. She risked her life to prevent her former ex-husband’s death at the hands of a demon slaying demon. Eventually, with the contract broken, Solace became bored with their fight and left leaving Eloise and Cordell to their near fatal injuries. She was no longer Cordell’s servant but now felt equal in his presence.

Subheader

Cordell’s family retained a well-known name in the level of Greed. That’s why Eloise wasn’t surprised when she met his cousin Valencia on his mother’s side. She was spending time away from her family estate due to bad blood between herself and her father. During which she became pregnant eventually adopting the child to Eloise and Cordell. Cordell has a second chance to be a father, and Eloise had another baby to love.

Things became peaceful soon after. Their life has become so domestic, the two branched out into different things. Cordell joined the local theater group in which he excelled at acting. Eloise took to designing clothing patterns online as a seamstress. Their new daughter Valerie was growing up into a snarky but loving young lady. That’s when Eloise met Wax.

Wax is the estranged and evil mother of Klaus’ friend Hunny. A demonic and hateful force in hell. She runs a facility known as the hive but seemingly has branched out to human enterprises. She met Cordell first, having funded his theater troop’s production of Macbeth.

During Wax’s siege of Greed, she enacted a wave of mind control upon different demons to empower herself. While he played such a minor role, Cordell was apart of these demons and it tested his new marriage to Eloise. She restrained Cordell, to his dissatisfaction, and their love continued to strengthen after this.

Their lives continued through sudden change and chaos and yet the two continued to remain strong all of these years. Valerie left the house to live near her brother, Klaus became engaged to his boyfriend J.B., and the couple continues to love and learn from each other to this day.
