Tsugumi is very very stoic. If you haven't read her nicknames, she got one of them because she does her damned best to act like a robot, even calling herself a doll or mindless or something to that extent, and tends to compare herself to machines. Despite acting robotic, she is far from apathetic or obedient. In fact, it's usually quite the headstrong individual and prefers taking its own way to copying what other people teach her. It also has a bad habit of bossing people around, even when they are fully grown adults. However, even though she doesn't look like it, she cares about people in her own way, and likes to take people places to show them something she finds beautiful in her strange void-robot-fishgirl way.

Nami Shibuya was born in a small port town and lived a boring childhood and was unsatisfied all the time. When she was 5 or so a new boy moved in, named Elio. She liked elio quite a lot. He was funny and taught her to actually like the beach. As she grew up she got better grades and did better in most subjects and had an interest in robotics that she'd talk to Elio about. She was headed great places, until she graduated junior high. I dont know how to say it dramatically but girlie got stuck in a hollow night and died < /3 soooooo sad
I have no idea what she was up to in between dying in a Hollow Night and latching onto Yoh i won't lie to you... in stasis? just roaming? captured by some lab committee? i'll never know. Anyways several years after death she comes back as a parasite void, latching on to some stupid human and calling herself Tsugumi. Yoh visits Nodoka and gets Tsugumi transferred to his hair, which Tsugumi is totally fine with.
Tsugumi spends some time hanging out in Yoh's hair, but decides to manifest itself in a humanoid form after a few days. Its appearance shocks Yoh to his core; She looks exactly like Nami before she died. This makes him lash out and tell Tsugumi to never show itself to him again, and Tsugumi doesn't know how to feel about it, not being used to rejection and yelling. Eventually Yoh tells Tsugumi to show herself again and Tsugumi is a little uncooperative... Yoh tells Tsugumi that he'll help her figure out her past if she cooperates and they can both work to understand her better (Borrowing a line he uses when helping struggling young people) and Tsugumi eventually obliges, after seeing Yoh's sad face and being reminded of something she can't quite place...
They both find out that Tsugumi is in fact Nami Shibuya from so long ago, and Yoh is Elio Hasegawa (Which brings back a lot of memories to Tsugumi). Yoh decides to tell it his memories with Nami, and Tsugumi decides that she will be keeping the name Tsugumi. While it doesn't feel connected to the identity of Nami, she still wants to be friends with Yoh and wants Yoh to look past the film of nostalgia over his eyes and be friends with her as Tsugumi. Yoh obliges, feeling a strange sense of closure regarding Nami and realizing that he's found a new friend. from then on they work on building their relationship up as friends for a very very long time, and getting Tsugumi to express herself more.

Furumaki seems a little apathetic about a lot of things to me, and tsugumi is intentionally only apathetic about one thing (Her past). So i think tsugumi would take furumaki out to do something with her (Go to the beach and watch her food get stolen by seagulls)
