She listens. A very bizarre, yet comforting sound calls to her. The discovery of one sound leads to the next. It cries out to her, whining out, "let me go! This is mad! Let me be free!" She shivers, both out of fear and out of curiosity. The crying gets louder, louder, and louder, until the helpless Void cannot take it anymore. As such, she travels, into the mortal realm through an unsuspecting host, hoping to find the voice. A voice, that sounds like her lost past.

Personality
"This world...I don't understand how any Void could like it. These people are inconveniences."

Furumaki is a girl that always seems constantly distant from everything, which is an intentional decision by her. Tunnel visioned by wanting to find the calling of her past, she cares little about anything else in the mortal world and desires to leave it as soon as possible. Even though she is somewhat silent and looks at the human realm with such strong apathy, she is extemely cautious, helpless and can cry easily if overwhelmed or scared. Now that she's stuck with Nao, well...It's not helping her case much. Though extremely disillusioned, somewhere in that cold heart of hers, she does care, or at least attempts to. While she sees all humans as inconvenient and believe there is no reason for them to exist, she is not actively hateful and will admit when someone is bearable to be around. She seems to like to play mind games with the other Voids, both as an attempt to understand why they tolerate and accept the human world, and because she's a bit of a troll. While she thoroughly says she is sticking to her guns to being what she is supposed to be, a "nothing monster," she too, has humanity in her own way that she does not realize. While Furumaki is the singular Void to not change in character as drastically as the others, Furu does grow enough to at least have the desire and heart to stay in the human realm, realizing that sacrificing Nao would cause pain in others, and because Yomi's fondness for humans and defense for them was the one time she has ever felt guilt in her life as a Void.

Due to her past as a human, her apathy for humans is warranted.

  • Furumaki Ohtsuki is not her real name. It was made up by Nao, because Furumaki didn't remember any remnants of her name in her death.
  • Unlike Hitoki and the rest of the Voids, who love human foods outside of plants and seafood, Furumaki is flatly neutral to it. She hates WcDonalds at lot though, do not take her there.
  • However, she really enjoys parfaits. "Human delicacies can be competent."
  • She won't admit it to Nao, but she likes those "animated flashing pictures" she watches.
  • Despite being forced to half of the time by Nao, she is quite the photographer and videographer.
  • For some reason, Furumaki is effortlessly good at tricks like juggling and kendama.
  • Furumaki's only hobby she is fully dedicated to is playing billards.
Inventory
"What would I even need in this world..."

Scissors

Whenever she manifests her human form through Nao's hair, she always seems to form a pair of scissors in her hand along with it, despite it having no actual use. Surely that must mean something...?

"What is the point of allies if I'm just going to leave this Earth?"

okay.

"Human with Void. Surely you must've done something to him. Voids feast on your kind."

While she thinks Nodoka is bearable and "appreciates" her help to finding her memories, she is utterly confused at the idea of human and Void being close friends, saying that they don't go together. Watching them interact so deeply and vulnerably perplexes her beyond belief. She is a tad bit jealous that her host is much more annoying than Nodoka, though...

She is not aware that Nodoka is Noriko's daughter. If she was, this section wouldn't be as simply put.

acquainted

"You actually like being around mortals? I pity you. Why do you look so angry? Awawawa..."

While they have a solidarity as Parasite Voids, Hitoki and Furumaki's feelings on the human realm are different. Some of Furumaki's feelings makes Hitoki extremely angry, but tries to keep it down because he is well aware that some Voids just will be different in terms of their humanity. The keyword is tries. Nodoka's influence is proving good on him. Regardless, Furumaki somewhat respects his feelings on the human realm, and Hitoki respects hers, though he REALLY, REALLY THINKS SHE IS MISSING OUT. They are "friends." Furumaki likes to question him a lot on his opinions on the human realm just to mess with him.

They share one thing in common for sure, though. The ice cream at B*rger K*ng? One of the best things humans have ever crafted.

Nao

???

"No! No more dancing! No more singing! Help me!"

They cooperate enough to live. Furumaki's cautious mindset contrasts hard with Nao's obnoxious and impulsive attitude. However, both do have tunnel vision. That's one thing in common, I suppose. Furumaki originally felt no pity in killing her, but after her exposure to her family and Yomi actively defending her, saying she is full of heart and love...she decided to entertain the thought of being around longer. Until Nao dies a natural death and lives a full life.

acquainted

"You too, you also roam aimlessly..."

They are not on friendly terms, nor are they really that acquainted, but they act so similar enough and have similar feelings that their interactions are usually in a pleasant, formal manner.
