Jasper Shi (Fu Yu)

Fu Yu is the current Grand Exorcist of the Capital, the last of his bloodline of the Fu Family. The Fu and Wu families are the counterpart families, diverged from a singular origin bloodline, whose martial and sorcery prowess are the pillars of the Kingdom's offensive and defensive power. The last few generations, the Fu family has failed to produce truly powerful exorcists. Yu is the exception, powerful even compared to the ancestral Fus, and the last hope of his family to restore the power balance and their weakening lineage. But early in his youth, Yu was targeted by rival exorcists who cursed his bloodline, resulting in the loss of his arm and the death of his wife and unborn child. Yu will forever be unable to produce an heir, spelling the end of the direct lineage.

Yu has always felt suffocated by the demands and expectations of a family who desires his power for unjust means. He's always been resistant to their rules, and now, as the uncontestable Head of his family, he is above reproach. Recently in his travels, Yu has found an orphan whose latent power potential could exceed his own. Yu has taken him under his wing, but the half-feral orphan and the nonconformist Yu have a long way to go to prove that the orphan is a worthy heir to the Fu family's legacy.
