Growing up, Roku grew up in a strict, traditional family that wanted order, obedience and structure. Roku, who knew from a very young age that this wasn't the lifestyle he wanted, rebelled. This encited a lot of abuse and violence from his parents, and him being transgender didn't help. It also didn't help that his family were secretly cannibals. Roku eventually had enough and ran away with his bestfriend, Riolu.

Coroner's Cortex

Roku is the lead singer for an underground visual kei band, Coroner's Cortex. The band focuses on emo rock/heavy metal, often illustrating themes of religious blasphemy, death, and strange, graphic but medically accurate depictions of gore. For their extreme style, they are not as mainstream, but have gathered a very niche but dedicated fanbase.

Saint

Being homeless teenagers, both Roku and Riolu were hopping from place to place trying to survive. Eventually they stumbled upon Saint's church just for temporary shelter. At first, they were going to sleep and leave, but once they discovered Saint's money situation and a secret underground catacomb beneathe his church, they blackmailed him into letting them stay. This somehow worked out for them, and they lowkey feel a little bad with how they treat Saint.

• Roku was originally for a different story about animals and cannibals. He no longer is, but the cannibalism and animal imagery remained.
• He is a die-hard vegatarian. Not by choice, the smell and taste of meat makes him violently sick.
• Roku is very lax with his presentation. It does not bother gore if his voice sounds feminine or his outfits look girly.
• That being said, in Coroner's Cortex, Roku and Riolu tend to coordinate their outfits with Roku being feminine and Riolu being masculine. Sorta like Team Rocket style.
• Roku has autism. He is high functioning and masks pretty well, but mostly out of survival and need.
• Despite being the leader of the band, gore's not really the leader behind the scenes, Riolu is. He tends to do more of the BTS work.
• He has a gigantic interest in vkei rock bands and culture. He collects vkei magazines, fashion and cheki.
• Despite being a hardcore vegan with a giant hate for meat, he has an interest in medical horror and gore. So much so he has neopronouns that correlate to this. He wants his gore to be tasteful, not hack and slash.
• Roku tends to dress in more "animal-like" aesthetics/imagery because he wants to match with Riolu. In his childhood (and sometimes in the present), gore would wear fake animal tails. He mostly dresses like foxes.
