Calder used to be a full shark, who was horribly wronged by the Department of Magic because he was just too powerful. They turned him half cat and sent him to the "Beast Reformatory." It was hidden in the woods and it was suppost to be calming and zen, but Calder didn't take shit. He found out that the leader of the place is from the Department. He took him down in a fight and took over the Beast Reformatory with his best friends Magpie and Mallard. 

Later on, they found the Planetstone, part of the Glowing Eye

Calder is a strong and independent worker. He is a strong natural leader and is more mature compared to Mallard and Magpie. But Magpie is really childish and Mallard is like an equivalent to Calder, but way more quiet.
